It lags a lot 30s initially . It takes a long time to connect. Almost hit a car because of the lag, u cant trust the video so its basically useless . I regret this purchase.

Only except Reception Quality is below 3 stars. Which kills the major use of this device. Due to connectivity is lagging when vehicle is moving! Yup Moving backwards or forward will cause this camera to Lag or Stop Working! Tried it on VW Beetle; Passat; GTI, Toyota Camry, Scion, BMW...sadly all have connectivity issues. It's built in WiFi is poorly constructed.

Cons

Takes a long time to connect

Every time you want to use it you have to turn the app on. Get ready to back into a spot, stop, turn on app, connect to phone, wait for it to connect, stare at a small screen iPhone 8+, start backing up, stop and wait just to make sure there is no lag in the time so you don't smash into the car behind you, then continue backing up. What a waste of an excellent idea

TL;DR:

Pros - decent battery; clear images in both day and night; wireless installation

Cons - takes a long time to connect or doesn't connect at all; landscape view only works in one direction.

Long review:

Like some of the other reviews, I too have issues with the speed of the connection. I rarely get the app to connect to the camera at first launch. I need to make a couple attempts before it finally connects and I can actually see what's behind me. The problem obviously is that this can take several minutes by which that time I could have already backed out and be on my way. Unlike some of the other reviews, I don't have a problem with the battery. I've only needed to charge it every couple of months. But to be honest, because of the time it takes to connect, I don't launch it that often, so maybe that's why the battery lasts so long. :)

Another gripe I have is with the app. I can see the company is trying to sell you a suite of products and so you can access all of them via a single app. But in having just the backup camera, this just adds another step in the process of turning on the backup cam. I need to first launch the app, then tell the app I want to launch the cam. If the company reads this, please make a standalone app for just the backup cam!

Another suggestion is the guidelines. Yes the product shows guidelines BUT, it's assuming your camera is mounted in the center of your vehicle. In my van, the license plate is off to the left a bit and so the guidelines are worthless to me. I wish there was an option to shift the guidelines over with the app.

Landscape mode - if you tilt your phone over the video goes to full screen which is great. However, it only works if I tilt the phone in one direction. If I try to tilt my phone the other way the image is upside down. This might not be a huge deal for most people, but in my case actually need to have the phone mounted a certain direction and this unfortunately shows me an upsidedown view when the camera launches. I know this is an easy fix for the developers.
(My camera was purchased at Walmart, but felt strongly that I needed to post this review to help other potential buyers about what to expect.)

NOT smart, ONLY last 3 charged, LONG and broken promised from ZUS NONDA customer service. Good idea for compact wireless smart backup cam but NOT last me than 3 charges (roughly 2-3 6-hrs road trips). I don't have any lag time in viewing.

I DO NOT recommending to anyone due to the product very short live time failed. I purchased 2 for our suv but end up with the same short life.

What can you say about a wireless backup camera that is doesn't hold a charge for more than a week, its painful to connect and has a video lag when you can finally use it? Seems well constructed and the iOS app looks great, but 1 out of 10 times it didn't connect at all. the couple of times I was able to use it the image freezes and you don't have a clue how close you are to the object/car behind you. The manual says the battery should last 3 MONTHS. I really don't know how they got that number, but after using it merely three time in one week I had to recharge it. I really want a backup camera that doesn't require professional installation and all that crap, but it seems that's the only way you'll get something that simply works as expected
*****UPDATE***** 04/09/18

I contacted customer service to start the claim process and get a replacement for the camera, and it took approximately 45 days to get the approval to send the camera back, which I had to pay for shipping. They received the package and after one week I had to contact customer service again to check on the status which took an additional 3 days to get a response. No news on when they will be sending the replacement and how long that will take. There should be an option of 0 stars review for products like this one

Good Battery Life

I use this camera in front of the car to protect the under-carriage. It does take a little time for the picture to appear. It does appear that the battery might last 2 months. But, you've got to remember to shut it off. I would recommend this camera to a friend.
