Not worth buying

The concept of this is neat, however, after a few uses it no longer works. You are supposed to be to replace the propeller but when you try to take it off to remove grass and other debris the motor comes out. The motor has very little glue holding it in and then is impossible to put back once it comes out. It will disconnect and fly in any direction landing it in your neighbors bushes. The app is glitchy. When you try and turn it rotates the whole screen even with screen rotation locked (Samsung Galaxy S 7). I'm highly dissatisfied and disappointed with this product. I wish I would have never spend the $39.95 on this product.

Short charge life but lots of fun

I bought this for my Nephew's 14th birthday. He is a plane nut. He loves this, he wishes the charge was a little more but he enjoys the fact that he can make different paper plane designs and see how they fly.

The concept is great and I would give it 4-5 stars if powerup upgraded the dihedral. It is so horrible. Since it keeps the wing straight it has a high center of gravity instead of a low or balanced one, so if you try steering, it does a barrel roll on then stalls and crashes. I would recommend straightening a large paper clip and cutting a length of 2.5 in. Then give it a bend at the 1.25 in mark, the middle. Place this dihedral support on the front line on the first tape mark. If it is still not flying correctly then bend it even more. However this will get rid of all the unstability so when you are steering quickly steer right, first steer right and then quickly left for the remainder of the turning period to prevent barrel rolls, vice versa

Great gift for the holidays

My girlfriend loves paper planes and this was the best gift i could give her, she looked at the videos step by step and assembled it quite easily, the lines were accurate and helped her do it as it should be done. She loved the steps with the app that helped with each part, though didn't understand at first that they were unlocked and she didn't have to repeat it. the sound of the engine and the take off were realy cool.

she loves it and this was a perfect match for her.

I think this would make a great gift for everyone, teens and adults, especialy if you are looking to give something unique.

Great for kids

Working with 4th-6th grade kids at a summer camp about flight and aircraft design. The Powerup is our power plant for our paper airplane designs. We are flying in a gym and sometimes run into walls with no noticeable adverse effects on the Powerups. The kids had very little problem getting their kits put together.

One minor difficulty for my setup. All the kids are using my phone (LG V20 Android) to control their planes. Sometimes switching planes is easy, but not always. The problem is that, once you get the app open, it can't seemingly be closed without restarting my phone. The is not a huge problem, but I hope to someday find out if I am doing something wrong.

The Powerup 3.0 and Powerup Dart are excellent products! I bought both for my grandkids and we are having a lot of fun. It is amazing to see how a paper airplane made of ordinary papers can be flown and controlled from your phone. As an engineer retired from an airplane company located in Seattle, I am very impressed by the ingenuity that went into the design of these products. The customer service is excellent and I wholeheartedly recommend the products.

Just doesn't work very well. I've tried MANY different body designs (even the included ones), and this plane just won't fly more than a few seconds. The controls work just so-so.

My son and I put this together, downloaded the app and headed out to an open field to give it a go. Well an hour later after many attemps and adjusting many variables, all we could get was nose dives or pathetic crash flights. I don't recommend this, we were both disapointed.

Great imagination & engineering on the Classic Paper Airplane! Be ready! Read the instructions! It's a speedy & responsive flyer! If thumbs cause a crash, not to worry, I just fold another plane! Problems? They have great support & video help! Over time I've been gifted the 3.0 version, helped "Backer" the original Dart and just purchased 3 for gifts and now I'm looking forward to flying my new FPV version! I've been asked at parks "what are you flying?" and I would reply......a paper airplane!
