These are NOT rated for Outdoor use. The writing on the outside of the package states: "CAUTION. Rick of Electric Shock. Do not use where directly exposed to weather."

These lights have great output and use much less energy than a standard ...

These lights have great output and use much less energy than a standard PAR38.However, these lights take a second to power on. When I first turned them on I thought that something was wrong and then they came on suddenly. The lag time is a little disconcerting when you turn on the light switch. They dim to about 20% then turn off but I rarely dim my lights. The color rendition leaves a little to be desired when compared to gorgeously warm incandescent lights but these are much more efficient. I also did not care for the design. They feel really light and "plasticky" compared to other brands. The necks feel like they are going to snap if you torque them on too much. For the money these guys work well but don't expect a premium bulb. All in all they work well and besides my minor gripes I am satisfied.

Nice light

Nice light, the right color and brightness.

These lights are nice, if used indoors. Don't use them outdoors as they will get water inside and go out. They say for outdoor use but not sure why?

NOT Outdoor

They came damaged and mislabeled. They are NOT outdoor, they clearly state on the box that they are not for use in contact with weather.

the Hyperikons are absolutely superior to the Sunco bulbs
by jrblev (2 out of 5 stars)

I purchased 6 of the Sunco PAR 38 LEDs and 6 of the Hyperikon PAR 38 LEDs, both in dimmable 2700k, so I could do a side-by-side comparison. In short, the Hyperikons are absolutely superior to the Sunco bulbs. I have about 30 recessed cans, so I have been trying to find a good option as my halogens burn out. I have Lutron Maestro dimmer switches on virtually every light in the house. The Sunco bulbs flickered in nearly every location I tried to install them, whereas the Hyperikons did not. I do have a couple locations where there was a slight "leakage" where both brands of bulbs remained faintly on, even when switch was turned off. The color and dimmable range on these Sunco (2700k) bulbs was very comparable to the Hyperikons, but neither is quite as good in terms of color and "dimmability" as the halogens they replaced.

Misleading-Incorrect item description

3 Bulbs failed so far, within a month. Contacted seller and they send one bulb as replacement. I have them installed OUTDOOR and noticed the water went inside the bulb somehow, so there is no proper seal between the body and the top cover. THIS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR OUTDOOR USE unless used in complete waterproof enclosure. This item currently being sold as indoor/outdoor. I have asked to seller to change the item description but no update yet. So beware if you are planning to buy these bulbs for outdoor use.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!

You want to light up the outside of your home like a ball-field? A friend of mine suggested to purchase these. I am truly impressed with these LED outdoor flood lamps. I'm also amazed how much light are emitted by each one. They only draw 13 watts a piece and you can actually put your hand on one when

it has been on for a while. The unit itself is not "hot to the touch" at all. The box says "120w", I am having my doubts about that, but other than that this is

an excellent product. Excellent value for the money.

Good and recommend. But the bulb is a bit shorter than the regular bulbs.. read on

Replace my CFL PAR38 flood lights with this and they seem to be great so far. It brighter and it does have a spread lighting instead of spot. But with that said, its shorter than the standard PAR38 bulbs (CFL including) so it further up the flood light cans. Its spread light gets blocked some. Other than that, the bright 2700k is perfect. Its a little whiter than the CFL/regular floods, but still warm. I am getting more to replace more of it through out my house. Instant on now vs my older CFLs.

I just got this for one week, so I cant comment on longevity yet...

Good value

They work great in my outdoor motion lights. They actually seem brighter than the old 150watt bulbs we replaced. However, there is nothing on the actual packaging or stamped on the bulb that says indoor/outdoor. It is only on the Amazon site in the description, so I was a little uncomfortable trusting only that.

Not suitable if you use a pole/suction cup to change your bulbs
by David W (3 out of 5 stars)
August 11, 2019

These bulbs have a recess in the middle of them. That means if you are trying to use them in a cathedral ceiling application using a suction cup for them, then the suction cup has very little surface area to grab onto (I have the monster size suction cup also, not the standard). As a result, the suction cup very easily slides even when just screwing in the light bulb. The saving grace is the covers are plastic and not glass so even if I hadn't successfully caught the bulb as it dropped, it likely would not have broken. I did eventually get one in, but it was also colder light than I was expecting. Given the other issue with not being able to use these for my particular application I am returning them. Might be OK for a hand tightening application although I also noticed the diameter is slightly smaller than a standard Par 38.
