My brother in law can be a challenge to shop for. A lot of time we end up buying him a special bottle of whiskey or some difficult to find beers. While those gifts are always fun they aren't as unique or thoughtful as my husband and I want to be. So, I am always scouring for an idea for him. He is not a fan of needless "stuff" so I was hesitant with this but decided to take the chance. We are so happy I did. He was researching the gift as soon as I explained to him what it was! I tried the beer caramelizer at a tasting party, and being a self-proclaimed "beer snob", I wasn't sure if it would be right for me. I tried it though and loved it! Here's why:
1. It's a ton of fun. You can't have the same experience drinking beer any other way. It makes trying your favorite beer feel like the first time again, which is really cool.
2. It doesn't "ruin" the taste of a good beer. If you have a favorite beer, it's still going to taste like your favorite beer. In a word, it will just make it more "mellow" or "drinkable".
3. It improves the taste of some beers significantly. I tried Dragons Milk, an imperial stout from New Holland, and didn't really care for it. After we caramelized the sugars, it became so much more drinkable and really took the bite and harshness out of the beer. I enjoyed it a lot more post caramelization.

I recommend this product to anyone who loves craft beers and campfires. You're going to have a great time with it!

What are we supposed to do with our spare time in the absence of lawn darts? Seriously though, if you want to become Internet famous you need this beer poker. Here are the 3 things needed to achieve influencer status:
1- red hot poker
2- people drinking
3- people drinking sticking red hot poker into beer while others hold the glass

We recently used the caramelizer at a family gathering. Not only did it add to our campfire fun when we tried it with several different kinds of beer, it made the beer taste smoother and gave it a slightly sweeter taste.
