It works.

I enjoy hiking and camping, so this seemed like a viable tool to recharge portable electronics. It is pretty bulky if you're hiking. But so far, for me, it works pretty well in both the wind and water recharging a 10000MaH power bank. The wind was 10mph gusting to about 50mph, water was about 8 to 15 mph. Personally, this is a pretty nice item to have if you're car camping or don't mind the extra weight/volume while hiking. Kind of pricey at $199, but it seems pretty durable and it's water proof. I know I'll be getting my moneys' worth out of it!

the turbine takes a fair amount of force to get going and is heavy. Used it on a sailboat with 20-25kt winds and it was just ok.

In slow moving water it won't charge. Anything over 5mph flow will charge.

Very well built unit.

Its heavier than I thought but this should prove useful for its lifespan.

Great customer service, and a great product.

I had some troubles with the first water lily I purchased, but was sent a new generator after myself and a customer service agent failed to trouble shoot the problem. With any new product you have to suspect some amount of variation and even outright failure of the device, and it is good to see Water Lily makes an active effort to solve these issues as they arise. This devise is a bit on the bulky side for any long distance backpacking, but is perfect for setting up at a base camp. Having a reliable source of power, not dependent on the sun or fuel packed in, makes it well worth the weight.

Works in all weather conditions

I do a yearly week long trip into the wilderness with my kids. Keeping the tablets charged is essential for enjoying the peace and quiet on wet days stuck in the tent. I normally take a bunch of power banks and a solar panel. The solar panel isn't that reliable as it doesn't work that well on cloudy days and you have to babysit it and realign it to the sun as the day progresses. Waterlily is a much better idea as once it's set up it just keeps going 24/7. I will take it, the solar panels and all my power banks this year but if it works well enought I look forward to leaving behind the solar panel and most of the power banks next year. My only complaint is that it's quite heavy.
