The stand that it came with broke the Mic.
by Rew (1 out of 5 stars)
August 1, 2019

The microphone comes with a stand that feels really good and premium but the design is definitely off.

There's a hole on the bottom of the stand meant to run the cable through after you plug it into the mic but it puts a little bit of pressure on the cable since it has to bend a little bit.

I left the cable on the mic for one day and when I checked the next day it was completely bent and the mic became very loud and the sound quality wasn't good anymore. I used different cables and I think maybe the port just got ruined or something.

I can't justify a $100 mic if it breaks from just leaving the cable in using the stand it came with. I actually loved using it for the 2 days it wasn't broken but wow I thought they would've put more thought into the design.

A Yeti Without the Fat
by David Parr (4 out of 5 stars)

It is $50 cheaper than the standard blue yeti and you lose out on two of the four original settings. It looks sleeker, but when the price of the Yeti can drop to within $20 of the Yeti Nano, I couldn't see many reasons why to pick this one, other than size.

Great Quality and Value

I was skeptical about the digital gain, but so far my friends said my mic has been clear and sounds good when I'm talking with them online

Use the Blue Mic program to decrease noise and then use audacity to decrease noise further. Super high quality. Perfect for podcasting!

Sound quality similar to a phones microphone

I like it!

The size of the mic is great, it looks nice, and the stand is very nice. Audio quality is really good especially when you tweak it a bit in post. I've included some sample audio without and then with noise removal. I'll most likely be switching from a blue spark and audio interface to just this as the audio is good enough and I don't want to deal with so many cables anymore.

Great option for someone torn between low-end and mid-end quality microphones.

Fantastic microphone for recording and podcasting. I've used a borrowed Yeti for a couple years and it was amazing. When I had to give it back, I looked for an alternative, and this model had just come out. My relatively amateur ear can hear that this is a quality mic with quality sound, and I honestly can't really tell the difference between my recordings with the Yeti and the Yeti Nano. I got a cheap boom mic and am so happy with the results. If you're someone that is looking to up the quality of your sound, but wondering if you need to go 'full Yeti' for the few extra features (extra condenser, a few other sound modes) you probably don't need anything more than this. Plus the form factor is HUGE. It's a lot less obtrusive, and stores much easier. For me there is no appreciable quality difference and a huge gain in practicality for ~30% less than the Yeti.

Decent mic, serious plosives, weird pricing
by EposVox (4 out of 5 stars)

In their first product release since announcement of Logitech buying them out, Blue have released the "Yeti Nano" - a smaller partner to the prolific Blue Yeti microphone. The Yeti Nano comes in many cool colors, offers cardioid and omnidirectional pickup patterns, and realtime monitoring at a... confusing price.

It's a decent mic, but I feel like better audio setups could be acquired with cheaper and more flexible configurations.

Would be a good plug-and-play office/conference mic.

Build quality lacking.
by Chris (2 out of 5 stars)
January 18, 2019

I purchased this as an upgrade from my Blue Snowball iCE but when I opened the box I immediately noticed the emblem completely detatched...it didn't look like this was something that was dislodged during shipping but rather something that was done poorly in production, I might put some super glue on it or just return it, I haven't decided. The volume knob also feels floaty and has a lot of side to side play...The knobs on the side are also as others have described and just feel flimsy, you can't really tighten them and this is something that concerns me over time and many tilts of the microphone. The actual sound quality is very nice and better than the snowball but the build quality is definitely worse. I have also ordered a regular sized Yeti (expected tomorrow) so I may update this review after seeing the quality on that, but I must say this was a huge disappointment for me, I expected more from Blue for $99.

Software is bad
by Kathleen Comyns (2 out of 5 stars)
March 18, 2019

Since there is no gain knob, I have to download the software. Unfortunately, when I set the gain to whatever I want, a few hours later it randomly turns the gain to 100, ear-raping my friends in discord and forcing me to alt tab out of my game and fix it or mute myself for the rest of the round. It happens all the time, and for literally no reason. I will be talking to my friends about where enemies are and then suddenly, there like, "OH MY GOD UR MIC IS SO LOUD TURN IT DOWN." While the sound quality is great for what I use it for, the random gain shift really destroys the experience.

Smaller but the same quality and sound your expect from Blue.

I've been using a full sized Blue Yeti for years, and love everything about it EXCEPT for the size. The Yeti Nano is PERFECT for my everyday use. The recorded sound is excellent, the size makes it easier to move around on my LyxPro DKR-1 Adjustable Microphone Suspension Scissor Boom Arm, and the Blue Sherpa software controls are pretty handy. This is a great microphone.

Pretty Great Mic!

This microphone is amazing, i highly recommend buying this mic, its quality like its big brother the yeti. Its smaller than the yeti thats for sure. If you want to get a feel for this mic search on youtube: yeti nano cubano gold Julian Lonzoe. This mic has two settings: omnidirectional and cardioid, which is perfect for podcasting, streaming, or youtube. It looks amazing in gold, search my channel on youtube: Julian Lonzoe, i will have a review up soon.

This to me seems like it works best for a swing arm or sound booth.

Don't use this for teamspeak while gaming unless you're in a QUIET room. I tried and tried to get my settings right, but I went back to my headset mic right away.. I REALLY wanted this to work for my use case, but it didn't.

Very Nice for recording guitar!
by Wayne Berquist (5 out of 5 stars)
January 11, 2019

I saw no reviews for acoustic guitar - so here's my take:

Just got it yesterday and recorded today and I was very pleased. Sound was very good and was very easy to EQ out the yuk frequencies. I use Logic Pro X. I used the Yeti Blue (and some other XLR mics)in the past. I bought this for 1) 24 bit. 2) Smaller and Lighter and fits on a mic stand (easy to position). You can use the Sherpa app to control the gain - which is no big deal since I always had the gain all the way down on the Blue Yeti. I was very pleased with this mic - if you just want to plug in and get a really nice sound - I would recommend. Also, you can't beat the price!

Exceeded ALL Expectatioins
by Dee Arr,Top Contributor: Harry Potter (5 out of 5 stars)

I've used three different mics over the last two years while hosting indie music video shows on Youtube, and was only moderately satisfied with the performance of all of them. In addition, I wanted to remove the barrier of having the mic right in front of my face.

After a careful search, I decided to go with the Blue Yeti Nano. Initially, I was very impressed with the weight of the mic, and the look is sleek and professional. As an experiment, I set it on a table approximately 4-5 feet away from where I plan to sit for the new show and recorded a few minutes to see how it worked.

It was amazing! The mic not only picked up my voice, but when my co-host spoke from almost 10 feet away, the recording came through very clear and strong. In fact, for the second recording we had to turn the mic down because I was too loud!

Overall, I am very pleased with this microphone. No longer will I fuss with a boom stand and have a mic blocking my face, and the sound is so clear (even before any effects are added). Couldn't ask for better performance, and it definitely exceeded every expectation. Five stars!
