Nearly perfect for travel and home office

When I saw that Twelve South was releasing a new USB-C dock with the minimalist dongle solution, I had to jump on it immediate as I'm a big fan of their accessories.

The hub arrived quickly and the setup is as simple as any other USB-C dongle as you would expect. The hub feels solid thanks to its aluminum shell and what I really love (and underrated) is the 3m long USB-C cable with the angled end to sit nearly flush with your laptop or tablet. This is another underrated feature as the angled designed reduces overall cable clutter and tucks in nicely either behind or under your laptop if you're using their BookArc dock. The inclusion of a built-in USB-C cable inside the hub itself for travel purposes is a nice touch as it streamlines your travel kit by not having to carry the included 3m cable.

The other features of the hub is pretty self explanatory and not anything new, as the USB-C passthrough and three USB A ports (all high speeds) and HDMI that powers a 4K monitor up to 30Hz (get a Thunderbolt 3 dock if you need higher refresh rates and higher resolution).

Despite the amazing design and convenience of this hub, I wished that it had an AUX out audio as it would make your desk setup even cleaner when you don't have to plug in your audio on the right side of my MacBook Pro. A minor gripe in otherwise a perfect hub solution.

When I received the email from Twelve South announcing their new StayGo USB-C Hub, I was a bit skeptical because every tech company touts their new device is going to revolutionise the way creators work. But I have to admit that Twelve South got it right! From having a well-designed product that is built to handle an in-office or out in the field workflow to the epic 1 metre DETACHABLE cable, and stow-away cable for travel, this has become my preferred hub for my MacBook Pro & Apple Cinema Display along with using it when I photograph destination weddings or commercials on the road. If you're looking to invest in a piece of equipment that will help you in your office or traveling with your USB-C device - the Twelve South StayGo is the smart choice for you! Purchased this for my personal and work laptops to have an easy switch for my external monitor as well as lightening cable for my wireless keyboard and trackpad. Works perfectly. Keeps my desk much neater and organized. Also charges my laptops. One cable to my laptop instead of multiple is just so convenient- especially sharing all the previously mentioned external items between two laptops. Highly, highly recommend.

Nice Profile and Easy To Use, Mostly

I bought this as an accessory for my new MacBook Pro 13" so I could adapt to the USB-C environment. Love the way it looks and functions. The only problem I encountered is the Hub did not power my newly purchased Samsung Portable SSD T5 back-up drive. I had to connect the SSD directly a USB-Port C on the MacBook Pro in order for Mojave to recognize the SSD. that is why 4-Stars, rather than 5.

Better than a dongle, that's for sure. Most of the USB-C extenders I could find when I bought my MacBook with USB-C we're just those awkward, dangling monstrosities. But this is much improved over hard-wired extenders, too. Bonus: the slot to store the connecting cable. This thing rocks.

I ended up returning it, but just because I didn't keep the MacBook. Otherwise, awesome product! My favorite feature being that I can swap out the connecting cable from the box to the device. A minor but big deal feature!

Its the dongle i was looking for, cable management is great, it provides 2 usb-c cables (a 1 meter large one and a small one that stores inside the dongle)
