Product Description

Product Description

3 years and up. A simple balancing game where you place beans in a pot. If the beans drop the game is over. No reading required. 2-4 players.

Amazon.com

After a grownup snaps this smiling red plastic bean pot together, it stands 5 inches tall. The trick is for two to four young children to drop beans onto the pot's lid, one by one, without spilling them. The more beans there are, the more care they must take. If--well, actually, when--they upset the balance of the pot, they spill the beans. And naturally everyone squeals and has a good time. The first person to get rid of all their beans is the winner. This is a fun game for young children, and no reading is required to play, but be sure to keep those beans out of reach of kids who are still apt to put things other than real food in their mouths. --Rebecca Hughes

This product is missing parts and parts do not fit. Unfortunately I now have an upset kid that received it. Upon visiting my order to return it I notice it has a no return policy for the product. I do not recommend purchasing this!

Perfect game for our 3yr old grandson who loves to get a game from the game closet. Helps him learn counting and taking turns. Not as well made as the one I remember having as a child but still is enjoyed by all.

This was a great game to play with our preschooler. She definitely enjoyed it, and it wasn’t tedious and long like other games geared toward the same age. My one complaint would be that there are a ton of beans and they get lost easily, but I think that just kind of comes with the territory. Overall, I recommend this if you like playing games and want to include your younger kids.

This is definitely not the same game I remember playing as a kid. This version is cheaply made junk. The bean pot is made of two thin plastic halves that snap together. It's supported by "hands" that are even flimsier and make the pot tilt in one direction before you even put any beans on it. Even if you try to load up the opposite side of the pot to balance it, it stays tilted and the beans all end up sliding down to that side and off the pot. My 4-year-old daughter and I tried playing it several times until we both got frustrated with it. Now it just sits boxed up in a corner of her playroom, because whenever I ask my daughter if she wants to play it she says "No, it's no fun".

If you have never played it is a relatively simple concept. Add beans to the top of a pot that moves when the load amount changes.

It teaches kids simple physics and plays pretty quick.

A cheap, simple classic that any small child (that is old enough to know not to stick plastic beans in their mouth) will enjoy.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter's upcoming birthday. She asked for bored games this year and since she will only be turning 6, I wanted to find games that are not too complicated and are fun. I had this game when I was a child and I loved it, so I am sure that she will too.

My almost 4 year old grandson tolerated his encounter with this game for two turns and then declared that it was boring. He figured out pretty quickly that if you put one too many beans on the top of the pot, it will tip and the beans will fall. He said "this is boring"; we played "Go Fish" instead. Wasn't worth the money or time invested to put the stickers on the game pieces, and to tell him how to play. It was over in a flash. He enjoyed "Go Fish" much more.

Pieces in this game are certainly not made like they used to be. The pot isn't sturdy and it doesn't take long before it tips. I know that's the object of the game but it is very off balance. More frustrating than fun. The kid likes to watch it spill so I give it a B for entertainment of the little one.

Good game for beginning game-players. As mentioned in other reviews, it is not the sturdiest game set, but for the price I believe it definitely is worth it. My three year old likes to use this set to play in various ways. In addition to playing the traditional route (placing beans on the top until it tips) he also likes to remove the top of the pot and use the set for counting out beans and placing inside, as well as "basketball" (throwing the beans inside the open pot, which adds some excitement since it sways as the beans make it in). One suggestion for improvement would be to provide the beans in a resealable plastic bag. This would help ensure the beans don't escape the flimsy box when storing. But if you have a ziploc bag handy when you first open the game, that could be prevented.

Fun game and pretty sturdy so far as the kids spin the bean pot around just for the fun of it. '
