Needs oil to work properly
After only a week of minimal use, I thought the pruner's spring was defective because it only opened a fraction of an inch after making a cut. The real problem was that it needs oil to work properly. After adding oil, it works just fine.

Previous pruners were the anvil style. These Fiskars have worked great pruning my Cherry, Tangerine and young Apple trees. Locking mechanism is easy to engage. These are great for the price. Would buy again.

Great pruner, this is my second one (the first one ended up in my yard waste bin, I suspect, after several years of good use). The "power gear" helps cut through branches that you normally wouldn't be able to with this size pruner, and the slight rotation of the bottom handle piece makes it easier on your hands. I'm a pretty strong guy, and these features really do help. The lock is easily applied with your thumb, one-handed. Recommended!

These are the best garden clippers I’ve found in 50 years of gardening. I’ve had several pairs over the years not because they wear out, but because garden helpers love them too, and I end up passing the on and buying another pair. The have a gear or ratchet mechanism that makes it easy to prune easily without straining my weak hands. They cut cleanly and quickly, are light weight and durable. Fiskars makes several clippers but for me, these are better than even their most recent power clippers.
I bought two pair this time so I’m sure to always have a pair handy.

Product worked as described. Did not seem as durable as previous pair, but definitely does the job. Wish the ratcheting property worked better, but it does provide that bit extra, so that's not a complaint. Feedback could also be older hands recalling previous pair, but it definitely has a lighter feel.

These pruners have a little more power than the non-ratchet kind. Needed them for my lemon tree. Definitely a good choice and will get lots of use.

Now what I’m gonna tell you I used these for is going to be surprising but just know that I used them for an entire week and squeezed them over 75-100 times each night. Worked like a charm. We used them to cut Christmas light strands out of trees we decorated (we do it commercially) and needed something that was going to be sharp and not hurt our hands doing it over and over. The way one side of the grip pivots when you squeeze, TOTALLY saves your hand. Highly recommend

I have had these shears for about 3 weeks. I went out to my cousins today to get some lilacs today. I brought my shears with me to try them out. Omg, they are the bomb!!!! I have tendinitis in my right thumb, so I don't have the strength to twist caps or write much when I do. I cut a bouquet of flowers and my shears cute so easily and no pain in my hand. They are easy to squeeze and are very sharp. Would buy these again. I read a lot of the reviews on these before I purchased them and read that people that had arthritis in their hand had purchased them and loved them. This was the deciding factor in buying them was the fact that they were easy on cutting and no pain in the hands. Definitely a 10 out of 10
