I purchased four of these grilling baskets to use at a cookout with lots of people and needed to cook many giant Wisconsin Jacobs Brats. I was able to cook 24 at a time with the four baskets in a short time had 24 brats perfectly cooked and ready for the first round of hungry mouths! I was able to keep up with demand during the whole event. These baskets are unique in that there are THREE settings to choose from so there is no doubt in my mind that the items cooking will stay in place even when turning ... and speaking of that ... in seconds I could turn 24 brats .. now that is efficiency. The basket material is just the right gauge for holding and squeezing the meat tightly and securely and the non-stick surface is great for clean up AND when emptying the basket ... none of the brats stuck to the basket wires after cooking them. I searched long and hard for this tool and in my opinion, it is perfect. WARNING: Be sure to wear good insulated gloves when turning or bringing the meat to a table ... the wooden handle is strictly for looks ... and that is it ... but I do like the added accented touch that the wood adds to the tool. I would suggest purchasing several of these if you entertain numbers of people and want to get the job done right and quickly ... it surely beats a grilling surface ... I am overjoyed at the way they have worked for me ...

This is the voice of experience speaking. And I even sprayed the holder with PAM before using. But I'm almost certain it was all my fault and the unit would work fine if I had paid more attention to it while cooking. Looking forward to giving it a second (and third and fourth, etc) chance to verify my hypothesis.

It appears to be constructed well enough to hold up to the heat and flipping over of the sausage/kielbaska links. I'm also hoping that since the metal comes all the way around the handle that the heat is not transferred into it as it is not covered in any way to protect hands from the heat...but you can always consider a grilling mitt as another gift!
