It communicates to you once it has learned a command. When you perform a command it will vibrate to tell you if you have done the command right. Different commands have a different number of pulses.
The packaging it came in was top of the line, and it was delivered very quickly. The wand is plastic but still looks very nice. The instructions that came with the wand outlines everything you need to know about the wand and how to practice using it. After about 5 minutes of practice and programming it was being used as my primary remote. It continues to learn from you and you style of flicking so the more you use it the more it customizes to fit you best!
Unfortunately it was lost in one of my moves over the years. Now that I'm settled again, I remembered how much I enjoyed it and decided to order a new one. So last month I found it here on Amazon for $59 and it was a no-brainer: one click later it's on its way and I cannot wait to feel magical again!
Except it wasn't on its way... Three weeks after ordering, after the delivery date was pushed back twice, I checked my email to discover that my order has been cancelled by the company, and no explanation was given as to why. I thought they must just be out of stock and I was bummed out, but I made a mental note to check back and order when they were available again.
Well, they're still not available, but the price has gone up to $97, and it doesn't look like the wand has been updated or upgraded at all, but I guess I don't have to wonder why they cancelled my order anymore...
So I might go check out the other company that sells a wand like this, because if The Wand Company is going to all that trouble just to squeeze an extra $38 out of me, I don't think that's a company I'd like to give my business anymore.

It kinda works, sometimes. There are 13 commands that can be programmed in total (e.g. volume up, volume down, and power would be 3 commands). But they don't always work. If the wand has been sitting for an hour, it takes about a minute once it wakes up to start reacting to your commands. Annoying, but I could live with that.
Also, it's plastic. Not the biggest deal in the world, but just an FYI.
Here's where it starts to go down hill, and I don't think there's a solution. The 13 commands aren't very different from a hand motion perspective. In other words, flick down and big flick down, can get mixed up from the wand's perspective. Tap on the top and double tap on the top, or tap on the side and double tap on the side can all get confused, just due to the way the remote receives commands. There's simply no way to be 100 % accurate with your gestures.
I read similar things in the reviews and thought, "oh obviously they're not doing it right, I'll be more exact with my motions". But it has nothing to do with that. If you're tapping or flicking something in your hand, you have to move your hand in the opposite direction of motion to stop it. From the built in accelerometer's perspective, it seems like the wand is shaking more than its meant to and can cause unexpected behavior from the wrong command being executed to just not working at all.
But with all of the challenges mixed together, I'd say it works about 20% of the time. Still kinda neat but this might be a return.

Además la varita está muy bonita. No se ve burda, parece una varita de colección. Estoy muy contento con ella.
I had a bit of an issue with my first wand where it would pulse continuously. I emailed the company and they responded promptly and sent me a replacement wand within a few days.
All in all, I love my wand!
Ps: "It's leviOsa not leviosA"
