We purchased this guitar as a gift for 11 year old son. It arrived in brand new condition, in large box. The guitar was packed in a guitar box inside the large box. It came with strap, pics, strings, gig bag, some paperwork and reference papers, and a new clip on tuner. It requires 2 AA batteries, which pop into a sliding battery box. The guitar includes an electronic tuner, which works great but only when plugged in. We are using this guitar with a small and quite old 35watt amp we picked up at a pawn shop. Works great, sounds great. The guitar is also used at lessons with a newer and larger amp, works flawlessly.

It sounds great and my son is absolutely loving learning on it. The cut out at the bottom allows playing the left hand really far up on the strings (toward the guitar). The guitar *is* small when compared to other 3/4 size guitars we have seen and is barely bigger than out acoustic 1/2 classical. But it fits him really well and I'm sure he can use it as a travel instrument when he's high school/collage or even an adult. It is so far seeming to be an excellent investment for the money. This model was recommended by our guitar teacher and we are so happy this is the model we chose.

Bought this to be brought on a mission trip. It was played all along the way and left in Uganda. It sounds and plays great. The body is tiny but the neck is just a tad shorter than the neck on my Martin D-28. It was perfect size for travel and it sounds awesome plugged in to an amp/ PA!!

I had some reservations buying this sight unseen but I have owned Yamaha products in the past and been very pleased with them, plus this guitar is the size I have been looking for so after several months of flip-flopping I finally went for it. It is a thin body, small guitar but it sounds bigger than it is and it seems to be of good quality. In my opinion, the fret nearest the nut is a little narrower than I would like, meaning the strings are very close but once i add a capo I can play in a more comfortable area on the neck. Someone with big hands/long fingers probably won't adapt very well to this size however I am a woman with average size hands and finger length. I am 57 and carry a little extra weight around the middle making full size guitars very awkward to play. This smaller version is much easier to work with while sitting or standing, for me anyway. This would be suitable for a child, teen or adult. I am not saying a big giant of a person would be pleased with the overall sight combination of big frame/small guitar but the sound can hold its own regardless. I read one review that called it junk, perhaps that was a fluke, because mine is not junk. It also sounds like a full size guitar. i plugged it into my keyboard amp and it still sounds good. I have been playing it every night and it holds its tune very well. The on board tuner is a nice feature. The guitar is acoustic electric and came with the battery for the pick up. The guitar also came with a lightweight gig bag, a clip on tuner & battery, a cleaning cloth, a pack of picks and wrench for the truss rod, extra strings, . It was advertised with a strap also but that did make it in the original shipment. I contacted the seller via email and received the strap a few days later along with an extra cleaning cloth. This has been a good experience and I am please with my purchase. The only reason I gave it four stars is because I do not have another similar size guitar to compare it to. I will be posting videos on youtube soon sharing my experience with the guitar. I am glad i ordered it and would recommend it for small to average size frames. young and old!

This is a really difficult item to critique. It is a beautiful instrument and the sound is lovely, the workmanship perfect, but it is mis-represented in my opinion. This is a 1/2 size instrument. It is nothing like any 3/4 size instrument that I have ever purchased. So I believe it is false advertising. I bought the instrument for a small sized adult and we were both shocked by the size, albeit the instrument being lovely.
