In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Get a half size larger!
These shoes are really good looking. Regardless of me reading all the reviews I still got the size I usually wear and am now wishing I would've gotten a half size larger. They fit somewhaT but are a little tight around the toes. Still comfortable to wear around the house but I don't know about running in them due to the tightness. Might just buy another pair a half size larger and give these away.

Just got them shipped to me. They are sooo comfortable! Very well cushioned yet still very light. I got women's size 8, put them on the scale, and the pair (2 shoes) is 455 grams, definitely on the lighter side of the ASICS shoes that have some cushion. I've had other shoes with cushion as well but sometime the cushion is a bit stiff, and after a long run (over 15 miles) my feet would still feel sore and hurt a little bit. The cushion on these shoes are softer and even feels a bit spongy, I think they'll be very comfortable even after running long distances.

I got the orange one with yellow shoe laces, they are so bright and pretty!

Definitely go half a size up. I wear 7.5 in almost all my other shoes and have to get size 8 on these, and they fit perfectly. Somehow ASICS makes their running shoes smaller.

I'll probably update the review once I get to try them on some long runs.

I'm not going, to lie, I totally bought these because I liked the color/style, and despite mixed reviews here, I ended up loving them! I have been running in Asics since high school (which is a long time, haha), and these do not disappoint. I run 3-5 miles 2-3 times per week and tend to underpronate due to my high arches, so I appreciated the pillowy cushioning on the outside of the sole. That being said, the cushioning isn't too soft (makes your run feel mushy/difficult to do speedwork). I initially sized up half a size due to the reviews, but I ended up exchanging them for my usual running shoe size (half size up from my usual shoe size) and I haven't had any problems with blisters, hot spots, etc. I think people like Asics because they usually have a pretty wide toe box (and these are less roomy in the front), but I didn't mind the narrower fit because my feet are a tad on the narrow side. I also love that these shoes seem way lighter than my previous pairs of Blur33s and Cumuluses, since I mostly go on shorter road runs and that the sole is very flexible - they almost feel like a cushioned version of my old racing flats. On that note, I do agree with a previous reviewer that I would not use these shoes for longer runs (~7+ miles for me, or whenever your form starts breaking down), and I would not recommend these shoes for less efficient runners/people who love lots of cushioning. Overall excellent shoe for those who have high arches/underpronate and like a moderate amount of cushioning for shorter runs!

These do absolutely run small! Mine fit perfectly but I ordered a 1/2 size up (I am normally a 9 in running shoes, ordered 9.5). Everything else about them however is excellent -- great support, super light, no weird or uncomfortable stitching around the ball of the foot. The orange color is rather vibrant -- I was afraid of that from the picture and hoping for a more 'sherbet' shade but it is somewhere between orange sherbet and orange popsicle -- more fluorescent than pastel however but still a really nice color!
