UPDATE 11/26/23: I started using this ball on 1/10/23. I got approximately 26 hours out of the battery before it died. I replaced the battery and the ball lit up for just 1 hour. I read some other negative reviews that mentioned the ball is not waterproof and will short-circuit the ball. I think that's what happened as I have used he ball in the rain on several occasions. I bought 3 of these balls so I will use another ball and NOT use it when it rains or there is water on the ground to see if that will make a difference. I will update after using the 2nd ball.

1/10/23: WOW! I love this led ball and so does my puppy. He carried the Nite Ize ball in his mouth the entire time (unless he had to sniff something to pee on). I have seen this ball during my search for a light-up ball, however, because it said "GLOW" I didn't even bother clicking on it as I wanted a ball that lights up longer than 3 seconds, not a glow in the dark ball. BOY WAS I WRONG! The Nite Ize is very bouncy. It appears very sturdy as my puppy is a chewer. But most importantly, the led lights stay on! Every ball prior to this ball, the lights would stop after 3-5 seconds. Not the Nite Ize ball. The light didn't go out once during an entire hour of playing fetch with my dog, even when he was just sitting still with the ball in his mouth. I love the alternating colors and even my dog seemed to be able to find the ball much faster than his now second favorite ball, which squeaks. And we all know how much dogs love squeaky balls. I was afraid he wouldn't like it as much because it doesn't squeak. I tested my dog by bringing his squeaky ball and the Nite Ize ball. He had the Nite Ize ball in his mouth and I showed him his squeaky ball and threw it. His squeaky ball landed right by his paws. My dog dropped the Nite Ize ball, went over to see the ball I threw, saw it was his squeaky ball, turned around and picked up his Nite Ize ball and left "what used to be" his favorite ball right there. I was sooooooo impressed and laughed so hard. I immediately came home and ordered 2 more Nite Ize balls. In addition, the battery core closes very tightly (using a nickle). My dog was not able to chew it loose as he has done with other balls that have that feature. I think Nite Ize is doing their product an injustice by using the word "GLOW." While the ball is very bright, they should focus on saying "LED STEADY LIGHT-UP BALL" instead. Glow balls just aren't bright at all and therefore, it isn't the proper description they should be using. This ball is amazing. I immediately got complimented on it by other dog owners. The Nite Ize ball also matches my puppy's LED harness lol. I am so happy with my purchase and highly recommend the Nite Ize ball.

Best LED Dog Ball I Can Find

This is the best ball I've found on the market thus far in terms of durability, longevity and usefulness. It stays lit for a relatively long period of time so you don't lose it after 15-20 seconds like other light balls. It is very durable and also bounces which adds to the fun. The only negative would be that the light does stay lit for a longer period of time than other balls, but because it does so, the batteries drain faster unless they are removed and reset after each use which isn't that difficult to do, but a hassle nonetheless. It would be perfect if there was an on/off switch. BTW we are on our third Glow Streak ball in 18 months or so. The first one we had died -- the LED bulb must have burnt out, because new batteries did not work. That ball lasted 13 months. The second was lost because it was used during daylight hours because the lights were ineffective compared to the sunlight. So far so good on #3. Highly recommend this item.

**Update - after 2 months the ball has stopped working (no longer lights up). I replaced the batteries and it worked for two days then quit again. Tried replacing the batteries for a 3rd time and nothing happens. It's a shame because this ball worked great and lit up well. My dog loved it. Now I am debating if I want to spend the money and take a chance the next one will last for more that 2 months.

Original Post: This ball has made it possible to play fetch in the dark!
Previously we used a Chuck It Glow in the Dark ball but the glow faded after a short period and then we would lose it in the grass. This ball fits in the smaller (blue) standard Chuck It thrower and once it hits the ground lights up and flashes non stop. We live out in the country where it gets really dark so this has been a great solution for my dog who lives to chase a ball.
Recommend checking the plug when you get done each time. Had it loosen up just a bit the first time we used it but cranked it down pretty good and have not had a problem since. I do not let him keep the ball and chew on it after we are done playing fetch. I could see that possibly loosening the plug if he was allowed to do so. Ball bounces really well on hard ground.

I decided to try out the Nite Ize GlowStreak LED Dog Ball to keep our evening fetch sessions alive during the early-dark winter nights. It's proven to be the best LED ball I've come across—far superior to the glow-in-the-dark alternatives that tend to fall short in performance and durability.

The bounce is decent. The light is bright enough to easily track the ball, it will however not illuminate the surroundings. I'd prefer it to be a bit larger, in size closer to a standard tennis ball.
The rubber feels durable to withstand regular play. However, it's worth noting that one particularly enthusiastic dog (not my good boy) managed to nibble a small piece off. Despite this, the ball has held up well overall.

While it might be a bit pricey, the lack of better alternatives makes it a worthwhile investment.

ich hab die kugel für meinen monster chihuahua gekauft. sie hat einkerbungen sodass er sie (obwohl etwas zu groß für sein maul) trotzdem gut tragen kann. er apportiert brav ohne dran zu kauen und die kugel leuchtet perfekt und stark und hat noch keine schäden.

ich werde sie auch mit meinem großen hund verwenden sobald der erwachsen ist und nicht mehr während dem apportieren kaut.

die beschreibung ist gut. einziges manko der schlitz zum öffnen. trotz passendem werkzeug bin ich abgerutscht beim zudrehen und das hat spuren hinterlassen. wenn man den ball lang haben will, sollte man dabei wirklich besonders acht geben sonst ist der schlitz vernudelt.

feuchtes gras macht dem ball nichts aus und das licht animiert den hund sogar noch mehr.

ich wünsche mir auch ein weiteres modell mit flacherer form wie ein knochen zb. damit der kleine es noch besser tragen kann.

I am a verified purchaser of the Disco Meteorlight LED ball, I wrote my review and originally rated it 5 stars. About a month and a half later I changed my review down to 2 stars on the ball.

The meteorlight ball was getting its battery and micro chip damaged by water seeping through. Not to mention how much of a pain it was to even access the battery/chip.

Pros about Glowstreak:
- Much easier to turn on the ball, this time with just a bounce on the ground and it's lit up compared to the Meteorlight where you had to press on the plug hard (though it got easier with use).

- Much easier to access the battery/chip for when the battery needs replacement. The ball package states it lasts 35 hours use, I'm on Day 3 at the moment with about 4 hours in on the battery provided - still bright, no signs of battery weakening.

Cons about the Glowstreak:
- It's auto shut off, so you can't turn it off when desired. You just have to leave it motionless and it'll turn off after it blinks in all its colours about 100 times. Literally A LOT of times before it just turns off.
- Because of the auto shut off issue and it detecting motion, I can't leave the ball & catcher in my car trunk anymore because if it rolls around the trunk, it will most likely turn on and that will drain the battery.
- The ball isn't perfectly round as the Meteorlight and has grooves. Why this matters? Because despite the Glowstreak ball not intended as a chew toy, when my dog brings the ball back at times she drops the ball and just starts to chew at the grooves. I will stop this when I see it happen with treats, but I know with the old Meteorlight ball she would just chew the entire ball, not pick at certain parts of the rubber.

Conclusion: in my old review about the Meteorlight I was strongly anticipating an LED ball lasting 3 months before it's deemed useless, their old ball from NiteIze didn't last. This new ball, Glowstreak seemed to have fixed the water damage issue so far so I do believe it'll last longer than the previous model. It seems durable and improved and sold at a reasonable price like the old model.

* I may have reviewed the ball too soon before any flaws start to show, so I will update my review as the weeks go on and the ball recieves more use.

*** Update: it has been 13 months now and my Ball has finally started experiencing issues. I changed the battery, and it worked again for a day. Then it died again.
I have placed another order for a new ball. Not bad for $20cad per year, with almost everyday usage.
