Product Description
In the U.S., water damage is the 2nd most frequently filed insurance claim and has accounted for more than $5 billion of claims each year in recent years. Property damage and monetary loss aside, a water-damaged property could also pose great health risks to its inhabitants, a truly nightmare scenario for homeowners. Thanks to the Instapark IN07A automatic water leakage alarm, a simple, inexpensive yet effective device, you now have a solution to minimize the risk of water damage and avoid its unpleasant aftermath.
Powered by a single 9V alkaline battery (included), the IN07A features a main alarm unit with a 130 dB siren connected together with a water detection sensor by a 44” long wire. When properly placed on the floor or any flat surface area to the monitored, the sensor will automatically detect any presence of water and trigger the main unit alarm to go off at 130 dB to alert the occupant to take immediate actions. Suitable locations to place the sensor include under-the-sink cabinet in a kitchen or bathroom, near a water heater, a sump pump, a toilet, a washer, a humidifier, an AC unit, or ice-making refrigerator. For added convenience, a bottom plate is included to help secure the sensor in place and lower the sensitivity if so desired. The main alarm is easily mountable as high as 44” above the floor, on a flat surface with either its built-in suction cup or included double-sided adhesive foam tape.

Heeding the suggestion of another reviewer, I improved sensitivity to a scant amount of water by simply folding a 1-inch square of a paper towel and tucking it into the bottom face of the sensor holder. As I wanted the sensor to stand flat upon the floor behind some cabinets where I couldn't easily see if it was properly positioned, I applied quite literally, a 4-cent fix: The sensors came with double-sided mounting foam to permit attaching the sensors or alarm box as desired. Cutting a piece of foam into 4 squares and affixing those squares at the four corners of the sensor holder's upper face, I then added a penny atop each square. This added enough weight to keep the sensor holder flat as I lowered it behind the cabinet. The wire was just long enough for the alarm box to simply lay discreetly at a back corner of the cabinet. At 3 for $20, these sensors are a "no-brainer" for anyone with water leak, flooding, overlflows, or other such issues.

They work great and have saved my bacon twice. I would recommend putting a little more expensive 9 volt battery than what comes with them.
The battery case could have been made for easier access with a slip on/off cover like remote controls use. The case would be better with more battery room. The case would also benefit from a hang tab with a "snowman" hole allowing it to be hung by slipping over the head of a small nail or screw. The suction cup is pretty useless and the idea of gluing the back of the case to a wall with the adhesive pad is kinda dumb. You'd need to tear it off the wall to get to the hard to open cover.
1. Opening the case is easiest with two small screwdriver pushing back the tabs and a third to pry open.
2. Remove the one small screw holding the circuit board, connect the battery, slip the wires behind the divider, angle the battery in, nose first while gently pressing the rear end down. Yes, a very tight fit.
3. Place the circuit board over the two plastic pins and screw it down again (small Phillips).
4. Hook the top of the cover, press down the end with the two tabs (I colored then orange to more easily see).
5. I hot melt glued two steel nits to the sensor flange for better floor contact.
6. Placed sensor on paper towel "mat". Absorbs floor water like a sponge. Without the paper towel, the alarm activates when the floor water level exceed 1/16" high.
7. I used absorbent paper towel to make a wick to fill the sensor channel.
8. I spliced an 8 ft cord into mine to allow me to place the alarm case on ceiling ductwork to better amplify the already loud noisemaker. I used some 20 AWG wire, but you could use old telephone cable too. I soldered my spices and then used heat shrink tubing on the joints and another tube slipped over those.

We bought this 3 pack of alarms and are very pleased with their construction, sensitivity, and simplicity. The package comes with multiple mounting options: screws, anchors, double-sided tape and new 9-volt batteries for each unit, and mounting plates for the sensors.
The only assembly to them is to plug in the battery and decide where and how you wish to place them.
We found the units unobtrusive and easy to install. We tested them to see what they would sound like when they contacted water and they were extremely sensitive and VERY LOUD!!! Even the slightest moisture set the unit screaming. The sensor mounting brackets hold the contact sensors off the floor by about 1/32" which is just about right.
(See 2nd picture)
We thought the sound was too loud for our application so we just put some plastic packing tape over the speaker outlet and that made it about perfect.
(See 1st picture)
We now have one unit behind the washer, another under the water heater, and one behind the refrigerator. We left the battery box/speaker units exposed so we could easily replace the batteries. The only concern we had with these units is that the sensor wire is pretty short, only about 36", so the one installed by the refrigerator was kinda difficult to place. It would be great if the company would make the sensor wire about 6 feet long so you would have a bit more flexibility in placing the battery/speaker box. You can always wind up any excess.
All in all, a really great product especially considering the price.
Oh, we really don't know about the battery life, they are supposed to last about 1-2 years on one battery but we have only had them about 3 weeks at the time of this review.

I was considering wifi enabled version BUT its too expensive and will have to wait. In the meantime this serves the purpose effortlessly.
Suggestion for enhancement: add battery power LED indicating if battery is running out. that will complete the product as it is right now.
