The install was super easy! I’ve been using this tension rod in my shower for a few months now and it’s still going strong. I’ve tugged on it, pushed it and it doesn’t budge. There are no signs of scratching or rust. After months of use it still looks brand new. It was super easy to adjust to the length I needed and the one time I removed it, it came off the walls easily with no marks left on the painted walls.

This came with clear instructions for installation - basically, make sure the ends of the rod and the wall where it's going are both completely clean, then screw the rod out until it's 4-5 inches _longer_ than the space where it's supposed to fit. Pull back until you can get it into the space, then let it expand to set. I think it will be very solid - the problem is that my previous curtain rod has made a _mess_ of the wall where the rod sits, the paint is all flaking where it's not gone completely. I'm going to have to do some work on that before I can put the new rod in. And then my old rod broke completely when I tugged on it to test it...so I put this one up, a little higher so it's not on the flaking wall. If installed according to instructions, I don't see how this could ever come loose - I screwed it out until it was about 3 inches longer than the space, then pulled it short enough to fit it against the walls where I needed it (and the pulling was quite a job! That's a strong spring). Absolutely solid, holds the hooks and curtains beautifully, looks really good. I'm still going to repair the walls where the old rod was and move this one down a bit (it's just a trifle too high as is), but it's working great.

Chrome finish on end caps does not match the polished stainless steel rods

The Briofox shower rod comes in four versions: one with plastic end caps and the other with alloy metal end caps plus a choice of stainless steel or painted steel rods.

The only way that you can tell if the end caps are metal is by carefully reading the photo caption (hint: PP = plastic).

This review covers the Briofox “Stainless” color with the chrome zinc alloy metal end caps and polished stainless steel rods:

GOOD: The metal end caps are sturdy and have a nice chrome finish. The large diameter pad adheres well to the wall. (Note: I originally purchased a Briofox shower rod with plastic end caps and returned it due to poor quality.)

BAD: Unfortunately, finish of the polished stainless steel rods does not match the chrome finish of the metal end caps due to dissimilar materials. If aesthetics are important, DO NOT get the polished chrome finish (the website photos are misleading and do not accurately represent the product finish).

Also, the inside diameter of the metal end caps is the same on both ends. Therefore, there is a gap where the smaller diameter rod fits into the end cap. It will require disassembly and removal of the shower rod to properly clean this area (see photo).

In conclusion, this shower rod is sturdy and is suitable for apartments or other commercial uses.

Shower rods have been an issue in my house for years. I had one from a big box store. You had to twist the ends bit by bit to tighten it, and pray it would stay up. It was a disaster and also caused my husband and I many screaming matches over the darn thing. ***Edited April 2020 -- The rod started slipping on one side and we couldn't get it to stay up. I contacted the company and they are sending a new one free of charge !! WOW, talk about a company standing behind its product, what wonderful customer service! I've had the product since July of 2019. I really do love this rod regardless, it hasn't rusted at all and still looks just as good as the day I got it. Very happy customer :)

Admittedly, I'm using this tension rod as a curtain rod due to the odd setup my apartment has. It's been 3 days since I've set it up. I purchased the max. extension of 73" and my windows is 72".
If you're intent is to use the max capacity, I'd recommend requesting assistance as the length and needing to twist to make it study makes it nigh impossible to arrange on one's own.
This supports the weight of 4 lightweight, "mesh" material curtains with ease.
This was pretty expensive for what it is, but I wanted a gold rod for aesthetic purposes and it doesn't looks cheap, so it's nice for decor purpose.
