First of all, the negative reviews on this site are due to people not paying attention to the description of this product; therefore, assuming this is a Windows laptop. People, READ the entire description first before you leave a negative review that has NO bearing whatsoever on the performance of this great item!
Now, for my review. I've been waiting for MONTHS for this particular HP Chromebook to be available for purchase. I have a home-based business and spend countless hours on the computer. I haven't used the mammoth desktop computers for years, relying solely on laptops to get my work done. My only hangup was the amount of time it took the Windows machines to boot up and their overall speed during the course of the day. Every Windows laptop I purchased was consistently SLOW and LAGGING, no matter how much RAM was installed. Then one day I decided to try a Chromebook - and WOW - what a HUGE difference! No boot-up time, no lag when using the internet or any of the THOUSANDS of applications and extensions that make my daily work life so great! Google is constantly improving the Chrome OS so that it operates at peak performance every day, all day.
This HP Chromebook 15 is absolutely the BEST chromebook I've ever used. This is the first chromebook on the market to have the number pad on the right, just like a "regular" keyboard. I was specifically looking for this option because I utilize mathematics in my daily work and the number pad is a MUST for me. The keyboard is full size and has actual "Delete", "Page Up" and "Page Down" keys on the number pad which other chromebooks don't have due to limitation of space. Also, the 15.6 diagonal display is HD and looks great! The side bezels are super thin which makes the screen look even wider! The ceramic white cover is a nice touch too! The fact that this has just 64G of storage doesn't lessen my opinion because I only use Google Drive to store documents and images. There is only one standard USB port (pictured on the right side) but I use a dongle and it works for me. Also on the right side is a USB-C port to use for charging or data transfer. The left side features another USB-C so you can charge from either side, depending on your setup. I use the left-side USB-C port to extend my screen to a second monitor. I utilize a VGA to USB-C adapter for this and it works flawlessly. The left side also has an earphone jack and an SD card extension slot (if you need more than the onboard 64G).
I will NEVER go back to Windows! Thank you HP!! And thank you Amazon for offering such a great product at a great price! This deserves 10 stars!!!!
