This is a pretty solid costume- especially for the price. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a nice robe, but does not want to spend the high prices of the official items from Universal.
INFO: I am a 5'4 adult female and I ordered the child's extra large I typically wear an adult Small top.
FIT:
The sweater fit me like a dream. it was the prefect length in torso and sleeves and was fitted without being too tight. I will only wash it in cold and line dry to be safe.
The robe fit well. The shoulders and sleeve length were perfect for me- they may be a little large on a child. the fit around the torso was a bit wide for me, but it may be best to give more options in body type. The length was certainly for a child (understandable- I bought a child's size) It hits about mid-calf on me (5'4") This suits me fine since I don't necessarily want a floor length robe.
Quality:
The sweater is phenomenal. The patch looks to be the same as the Universal branded items and is nicely applied, I am not worried about it coming off. The waist band of the sweater has a nice blue trim to add a finer touch to the sweater. There will probably be times I wear the sweater by itself for more casual HP events
The Robe is nicer than most, but not as high quality as the sweater. The seams and stitching is all nice and the wand pocket is a nice added touch (I will say, if you have a heavier wand, it may pull too much on the wand pocket for comfort.) The button on my robe was already torn off when my package arrived, not ideal, but I can stitch it back on- it does make me wonder how long some of the other stitching will last, though. The blue lining is a full lining (not just on the edging) The lining is a shinier material than the exterior robe.
Dickey and tie are just fine for a child's costume. I don't plan on using them- a little too cheap and uncomfortable looking for me, but definitely a wonderful touch for an easy child's costume.
Authenticity:
The blue is all a little more royal than I had hoped. I am a big fan of the darker blue found on some items.
the material is slightly better than a high school graduation gown. It is shinier than the official robes, but not cheap plastic like many costume store buys.
The tie is blue and white instead of silver (or gold if you prefer book colors)
the patch seems to be the same as the Universal robes, so it is the black raven instead of a gold eagle.
All in all I'd say this is a good set for the price. I am a bit peeved that my button was already broken off and that prices have dropped $15 since I ordered, but it's still perfect for the casual Cosplay events that my friends and I attend.
