I'm a DIY-er with a 1930's single story house. I recently used my Werner AC78 Quickclick Ladder Stabilizer over the course of two full days while replacing all of the gutters on my 1,000sq/ft house. I attached it to a Little Giant Leveler. If you're wondering... yes, you can rest it on your roof and clear 5 inch K gutters easily. Below are my thoughts.

Recommended Modification
I have a recommended modification for this stabilizer. I used the stabilizer for the first time today to clean windows on the second level. When climbing the ladder to the third window to clean, I realized the top "U" clip was bending and spreading open and the stabilizer had loosened on the ladder rung - up. The only thing holding the stabilizer on the ladder was the thin keeper pin, the pin was bent about 3/4" from straight and was about to come out of the hole on the front side.In order to stabilize this, I purchased 3 - 1/4" X 3" carriage bolts and drilled new holes in the "U" channels just under the rung on both "U" channels. Two bolts on the top "U" and one bolt on the bottom "U". Then installed the bolts under the rung, hand tightened the nuts while squeezing the "U" tight to the rung and double nutted the bolts. See included picture. After doing this, I cleaned seven more windows and the stabilizer worked great. The top "U" did not bend / spread open and the stabilizer did not slide up.You should not have to do this for ladder "safety" equipment. However, If I had not done this I am certain the stabilizer would have come off the rungs. Then the ladder and I would have gone thru the window. I am about 200 lbs and was using a medium duty ladder. The ladder was at a lesser angle than i usually place a ladder. I do not think I was overloading the stabilizer.If you own this or plan to buy it, please watch the stabilizer as you climb the ladder. If the top "U" starts to bend / spread apart and the stabilizer slides up, you need to add something to keep if from coming loose.
