As its name suggests, this comfy thong sandal from Sanuk is perfect for kicking back and enjoying your beverage of choice. Comfort doesn't get better than the Beer Cozy, constructed with a flexible synthetic upper, soft jersey lining and "no-rub" toe post. Made from a real yoga mat, the textured insole is extra-thick and cushy and conforms to the shape of your foot for a custom-fit feel every time.

Sanuk was started by surfers in southern California in the late '90s who were looking for footwear that reflected their lighthearted way of life. Founder Jeff Kelley was disappointed to see little selection in a category of footwear that had become his main shoe staple: the flip flop. Jeff had always been interested in footwear and with a little help from a few friends Sanuk was born. Years later, the Sanuk brand still delivers out of the ordinary, quality product to surf and specialty shops every season and has helped bring the flip-flop category from a summer only item to something worn all year.

My husband swears by these shoes! They are so durable I only only have to replace then every 2 years or so. They have great arch support. They are so comfortable he can wear them all day while walking on vacation. These are amazing.

    For the past 5 years I've only worn rainbow sandals. I decided to give something else a try after my last pair wore out just because I didn't want to have to deal with the pain in the ass break in period that Rainbows make you go through. I gambled on the Sunuks since I had never tried them on before, and they definitely don't disappoint! Right out of the box they feel amazing. I tend to have very sweaty feet and these sandals seem to keep my feet dry and non-slippery compared to most other non-leather sandals. Also I'd recommend ordering a size up, I wear a size 12 in pretty much everything except converse which I wear an 11 or 11.5 and I decided to order the Sanuks in a 13. They fit perfectly. They're also really light, so light that the only issue these might have is that they could wear out quick since I tend to drag my feet a tiny bit when wearing sandals and the sole isn't very dense. I'd definitely recommend these to anyone needing a new pair of sandals!!

    Love it. This is my second pair. Use it at home as slippers. The first one lasted 4 years. Will definitely buy again. Be careful and don't use it in water. It absorbs water little bit and takes time to dry but definitely worth the money.

    Somebody somewhere said walking on yoga mat. That's a pretty good description. It is soft and comfortable. Indeed I found my forward thrust reduced by the sandal and I have to adjust to it.

    First, I learned to respect what type of sandals are designed for. You can't have one sandal for all possible occasions and still comfortable and last for all occasions. The same with shoes. I had a Rainbow as gift. Basically it's made like leather shoes but in the form of flip-flops. All is good and comfortable, until I wear it to the pool. I never thought much of it because I never took effort to keep it dry against rain and wet grass for example. But the pool is a different animal. Brown stain came off and stain my soles and everything else for weeks. The leather at the sole fade to pale. A rough patch of skin developed at my sole. From then on, the same happened when it rains and the sandal get wet. I forget about it until the next year, when I wear them to the beach again. A thick patch of skin developed again which is also stained brown.

    I had a pair of Nike beach slippers. But after a day out in the 100 deg F sun back in the yard, it turned into jelly. It returned to normal eventually, but at the time it was totally unwearable.

    This Sanuk sandal has a harder than normal under layer, perhaps to balance the soft top layer. It is a little bit more slippery on hardwood floors than normal shoes or sandals. Since the time you spend walking on polished hardwood floor is very limited, it is a non-issue. It is by no means a dangerous type of slippery.

    The front of the sandal is a little bit more rounded than typical sandals, which typically follows the outline of the feet. As seen in the product pictures, there is a little green label on each sandal, perhaps to remind you that it's not a two dollar flip-flop.

    If you drive in it for say half an hour in a CA winter, it feels a little sticky as compared to a leather sandal. It's minor and by no means uncomfortable.

    I have no reason to fault it. It seems to be well made. I hope it last.

    Update: So it finally it rained, when I forgot to bring a lot of things indoors. I waited two days before wearing it again, fully aware that it would still be a wet sponge. It's a little wet but I rather don't wear shoes. I went to the post office to return another Amazon purchase. The line was long. I walked around the post office waiting impatiently. Then I went to the supermarket. After all these, I looked at my feet when I was returning the shopping cart. I was standing on foam. It must be from the sandal. I am so embarrassed. You have been warned. Less one star.

    This is my 6th pair of these. I purchase at least 1 pair every year because I wear them so much the bottoms get holes in them. I hated having anything between my toes for many years and found flip flops to be very uncomfortable. That all changed when I purchased my first pair of Sanuk beer cozy flip flops. I wear them almost the entire year since I live in central TX. They're great for cruising, last almost an entire year of regular daily use.     I purchased these Sanuk flip flops for my son at a sporting good store in the past. I slipped them on to walk outside and LOVED them. I had plantar fasciitis which means my heels hurt in almost any shoe, but not these. The dog ate them so needed a new pair. Many stores have the Sanuk brand, but not the "beer cozy" style. They are called that because the sole is made of beer cozy material. Very cushy. There is some arch support, so good for me. flip flops do not stay on my foot unless there is an arch. So I bought a pair for my son, one for me and a pair of "yoga" (similar material, but not as thick sole) for my daughter. IMPORTANT: these run a little small so order at least a half size up. My son wears 13 so I got him a 14. I wear women's 10 1/2-11 so ordered a men's 10 (should be a 9).
