- Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2011This is a stunning Lego set in its detail and the clever way it is constructed. They used some Technic parts at the core and that helps the stability tremendously although nothing is going to help the guns and wings on the outside. Those are going to fall off, especially when you accidentally grab them when trying to hoist this heavy ship.
Don't be frightened off by the age. I believe it is more relevant for play than build because of the weight of the ship and the small parts that can come off easily. My son is much, much younger than the recommended age (but a very experienced builder for his age) and he did just fine building it with supervision. And I totally agree with the other reviewer that recommends enforcing breaks. This is good advice when doing anything challenging. You want this to be fun and engaging, not a source of frustration, so pace yourself and watch with delight as your young one builds an impressive set.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2012I bought this for my son. The price was much lower then in Lego shop - just 149,90 USD on Amazon - very attractive for this size set. My son has a lot of fun with this and he still have. If your kids like Lego bricks, especially Star Wars series this is perfect gift for Christmas.
This set has a lot of details and you will spend some time to put all together. As usually Lego included step-by-step instruction to build this model. Even 7-8 years old should not have problem to build but it will required some patience.
I have checked Lego website and this model is not available there. If you willing to spend 200 USD (this the price right now when I'm writing this review) it will be well spend money and your kid will love it. many parents as well ;-) Guaranteed!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2012My grandson and I have been building Lego Star Wars for about 5 years, and I am very disappointed in this kit. The pieces are in 10 unnumbered bags. In recent years, the construction has been laid out in a very orderly fashion, with the parts for each series of steps in numbered bags. Do bag 1, then go on to bag 2, etc. With the numbered bag system, we never had more than 100 parts out at anyone time. With this kit, and no numbering system, we had to lay out over 1400 parts -- into color piles before we could start building. We took a bunch of containers from the kitchen to put the colors in, but it is still a very hard way to build a kit. If we had known this before we ordered, we'd've chosen something else. There needs to be someway to let customers know this very important detail. We love Legos (we once got a kit that had a part missing -- after an email they sent the part with profound apologies) but I hope to never stumble into another one like this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2011I only have one complaint about this set! Landing Gear!!! You will see this complaint in most of the other entries but i would not let that keep you from getting this one! I love the old ships from the first movies! For me, it was worth it, but i have contacted Lego to see about a fix for landing gear or a display stand. Over all, the set would be a great addition to any collection! Not sure of it would be appropriate for young ones! Many small parts!
Thanks for reading!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2017Way to much money for what I got.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2014An absolutely fantastic Star Wars set. Just one of the most distinctive display pieces you can have. Easily recognizable. A fun flawless build, and recreates not only one of the most iconic scenes of Star Wars but those opening moments that changed a billion nerds lives forever.
I don't think I have anything bad to say about this one. The figure selection while a little lower than I like for the price is near perfect with a nice exclusive Captain Antiles. The set is solid. The only minor things it really wants for are the more modern additions to similar ships such as the Republic Cruiser's of Landing Gear and a lifting handle. But those details aside you could not ask for more. well Greeblied and detailed, I think I actually like this version better than the UCS Tantive IV. (No annoying rubber bands.)
- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2011My 10-year-old son received this set for Christmas. Even though it says it's for 14 year and up, he was able to put it together in about 5-6 hours. It's very sturdy too. He's able to play with it and not worry about it falling apart every few minutes. The down side is that because it's so big and neat, he doesn't want to take it apart. His smaller ships he takes apart and builds new things all the time. So from that standpoint the smaller cheaper ones may be better. I'm sure the newness will wear off at some point and he will break it apart to build again. Well done Lego!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2014Just for very serious collectors
I'm a huge fan of Star Wars Saga and love LEGO products.
This is a big LEGO model of the Tantive IV.
Very detailed, looks amazing.
You will need large space in your house to display it.
It isn't a LEGO to play with, because of the size.
It's definitely only for people over 15 years.
It's necessary to be very careful in the handling this LEGO.

5.0 out of 5 stars Per collezionisti del genere
Spedizione arrivata molto prima di quanto previsto; confezione adeguata per prevenire danneggiamenti.
Consigliato per gli amanti del genere e per chi vuole avere un pezzo "storico" da collezionare…sono rimasti pochi pezzi in circolazione

5.0 out of 5 stars Très beau Lego
Ce Lego est vraiment très beau et très agréable à construire. Il n'est pas destiné aux jeunes enfants car il est trop fragile.

5.0 out of 5 stars eines der besten Lego Star Wars Modelle
Trodem volle Punktzahl!
