- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2017Great 3 channel radio. This thing is plain and simple, easy to use knob adjustments for trim. really not much to say I've always had good luck with Futaba radios and this is no different, this is on the lower end of the spectrum so its a no fuss no bells and whistles. I have two an they have worked regardless of what I've asked for them.
Pros:
Simple
easy trim adjustments
no external antenna to bust up
good range
Inexpensive
durable
Cons:
Lacks extra channels (for extra functions)
no multiple electronic selection for different land vehicles
foam wheel has a tendency to slip, might need to apply a dab of cement
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2017For the price you can’t beat it especially when the receiver you get costs $50 by itself so you basically get the controller for $20 and it feels much better then a stock traxxas controller and has adjustments for everything you could wish for right on the controller which can all tuned on the fly! And the range is also great, can control your car without interruption for as far as you can see and further. Has a nice short antenna so it doesn’t have to be exposed outside of the body where it can be damaged. Very happy with this product and it arrived very quickly! Would highly recommend.

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2023Set up was simple, although I was stumped at first about how to limit servo travel to prevent binding, because all the other trims are under the clear plastic cover. I almost didn't notice the thumb wheel at first, and it has an odd name ("Steering Dual Rates"). Once I realized that mistake, all was good. The manual is well written.
It works great as a radio system, with no glitches in operation, and long range. The throttle and steering are smooth and precise, if a bit cheap feeling. There is a switched third channel for lights, which I haven't installed yet.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the battery compartment is poorly designed and fastened, and the outer two AA cells need to be pried out with a tool. Another nitpick is that the radio didn't come with a plastic tube to protect the antenna. The manual says it should be included. Without it, the antenna & lead seem too fragile to withstand much bashing.
Overall, the build quality of the transmitter is very cheap. After spending $95, I was initially underwhelmed when I opened the box. But since this was an xmas gift to my son with his first RC car, I paid a little extra for a brand I was familiar with.
I also like the smoke colored translucent door covering the trim knobs and switches, as it helps keep young hands from messing with them.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2017Got this in a timely manner as expected. Well packaged without any flaws upon arrival. I bought this to replace a Spektrum DX3C that I had for a while and was on it's last leg. This Futaba left me quite impressed. It lacks the bells and whistles that some racers and enthusiasts desire but it sure seems to pack the renowned internals that Futaba is famous for. Great range, easy (yet simple) tuning, and fits well in the hand.
I highly recommend for the price vs performance.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2022Fast shipping. I have purchased four or five of these over the past few months for all of my little RC projects. They work very well. The only problem is trying to get one of the batteries out once they are in, it gets jammed in there pretty tight but you can eventually get it. Not bad for $90 or so.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2024I never had any problems with any of there products

Este producto, es una excelente opción que cumple con los requerimientos básicos para el hobby de radio control en superficie. Es un sitema de calidad que ofrece cualidades de sistemas más costosos a un precio bastante competitivo. Gran alternativa para un presupuesto moderado.

Nice entry level unit. Works well and the price was right. My only complaint is that the "Futaba" badge on the right hand side of the TX will not stay on. I plan on picking up another one for our other car.
******Just had the second one delivered (One month later). Awesome little transmitter. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Value
It feels light and cheaply made but its a definite step up from the radio that came with my car. All in all, it works as advertised and the price point seems bang on for what you get. A little bit of bounce back in the steering if you let it 'fly' back to center but absolutely not an issue for me. Very Happy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Futaba is good product.
Futaba has been around for very very long time but the price is bit high, it's use to be $69 and it's very hard to install and remove the battery.
I use Futaba for all my RC; servo and transmitter, very good and reliable, working every time when you need it. I had 4 of them now.
