Great function, appearance; needs better stability
Overall, I am very happy with this laptop desk, which I’ll use when working from my bed. As detailed below, though, I had to jury-rig a stabilizer for the legs, so they don’t fold in and make the desk collapse when it’s standing on a soft surface and gets moved or jostled.Pros:• The photos on the product page are accurate; it’s as aesthetically pleasing and functional as it appears.• Given that it’s made entirely of (sustainable) wood, it seems likely to hold up better than my two previous laptop desks. They were both made of metal *except* for the pieces that connected the legs to the desk surface and allowed them to rotate. Those critical connectors were made of plastic, and after a few months of use, they broke irreparably — on both desks.• This desk came fully assembled and does not have any of the rough, splintery edges other reviewers have mentioned: All the pieces are fully sanded and smooth.• The drawer is narrow and shallow, but can hold a couple of pens, along with the detachable wooden piece that keeps a laptop from sliding off of the desk when the section of the desk on which it sits is raised (which allows for optimal viewing from a prone position).• The round indentation for a glass or bottle is exactly the right size (about 2.75” in diameter) for my slim glass water bottle.• Other reviewers have complained that it is heavy, but it is crafted of solid wood, which makes it stable and durable — fair trade-offs for the added weight, in my view.Cons:• The legs are designed to allow the user to fold them flat against the bottom of the desk when it’s not in use. However, that means that when they are fully extended and the desk is sitting on a soft surface (like a mattress), they have a tendency to collapse when the desk is moved or jostled. (To be clear, they lock into one of two extended positions with the locking screws provided. The collapse isn’t caused by the legs suddenly getting shorter; it’s caused by the legs — regardless of how short or long you’ve made them — folding in toward the bottom of the desk, where you store them if you want to convert the table into a tray.)The desk would be more fit for purpose if it came with a mechanism to lock the legs into place and keep them from accidentally folding in to turn the table (with legs) into a tray (with no legs), which is why I have given it 4 rather than 5 stars.However, as the attached photo shows, the unintentional collapse problem can be solved by wedging a small piece of wood or metal (I used a couple of nuts) between the top of the leg and the bottom of the desk, which keeps the leg locked into place.Yet to be assessed:• Other reviewers have mentioned that the wood warps over time, or arrived already warped. Mine came warp-free, but I haven’t had it long enough to know whether it will stay that way.

So, imma give a 4 for the table. It's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Here are some pros and cons:
Pros:
- Looks great
- Feels great (so smooth)
- Comfortable space of latop and mouse
- If you have a smaller laptop (i.e. mine is 13in), then you can easily have food on the table while you work on the laptop
- Leg height adjustment is nice
- Works well if you just fold the legs and keep on your lap as well
- The drawer is a nice feature as well as the little lip (removable, btw) that lets you tilt the table without it sliding.
Cons:
- The legs are a little - they're not unsteady exactly, but they're easy to accidentally disassemble when adjusting the height. Easy enough to pop back on, just wish it wasn't as quite ready to help you let it fall apart haha.
- While there are bolts to keep the legs at the appropriate height, the legs themselves don't "lock" into place when you pull them out. This means if you accidentally bump your table from the side, it may shift and the other leg fold under, dumping the tables contents unceremoniously on the floor. It'd be nice if they could "click" into place so it's not so easy to knock the legs back into folded position.
- The draw has a "lip" on the top inside to prevent you from pulling it all the way out. Unfortunately, the drawer is already so shallow that this means half the items you could fit inside it will *only* fit on the sides of the drawer, but *not* in the center. It reduces the drawer's effectiveness. And if you put in an item on the side, it can shift towards the center and now the drawer won't open. You gotta partially open, then shove your fingers inside to try to fish your item to the side so the drawer can open fully and you can grab it. Major pain. My husband--bless him--did some adjustments to the drawer so that lip is gone and I can use it, but it would be nice if that structural design could be fixed.
All that said, I don't think any of the cons really negate the value of the table. That said, I did get a table that didn't properly lie flat (see pictures). Doesn't affect the functionality of the table, but my brain is such that it not lying flat was - er - frustrating, haha. Contacted the seller and they immediately offered me a partial refund or a replacement item. I opted for the replacement, so I'll update once I receive it. 5/5 customer service. No regrets choosing this table and happily recommend it.
EDIT: Got the replacement and it lay flat like it should. Honestly, I'm really happy with it. I already intend to buy another one just cause I'm lazy and it's nice to have one upstairs and one downstairs. Despite the few cons of the table itself, the amazing service and the fact that I've already decided I want another one means this has earned a full 5 in my book.
