- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2024I am not an MISB collector so I purchased this to play and appreciate. The toy box had some dings but it doesn't matter as the content is pristine and factory tied. I am not presenting myself as some expert on Star Wars figures being primarily a Transformers fan so this is straight out sincere and honest appreciation.
Before the positives the negatory(?):
1. No instruction manual. Is the Black series vehicles supposed to have one?
See? Only one, somewhat.
Now on to the vehicle.
1. I had the opportunity to purchase the original but updated PotF mold of the AT-ST. The one without a pilot and the cockpit just fits one figure PotF version which I ditched. I did buy the PotF AT-ST pilot but he was so lonely lol! I was fortunate to find this AT-ST which is the updated #2 seater cockpit version .
2. Pilot , which is included is a new mold with more points of articulation and a removable helmet. I do have some minute issues with his right elbow joint which doesn't fold. I did not want to push my luck so didn't force a bend. He comes with an Imperial pistol.
3. Being a #2 seater so now, I used the previous PotF AT-ST pilot. Being a more bulky mold, you need to get the position right to get him to fit the cockpit seat, so yup, kind of compatible with the older figs.
4. AT-ST.
4a. The meat of the review. Details wise, your typical sci-fi military mech. Drab gray (I assume this is the ESB motif) with right amount of detail. Inside the cockpit, the details are factory applied decals and well sculpted control instruments. Hb spray painted some rusting effects on the feet and upper thighs. The windows now are separate parts that can be opened. Leg ratchets are tight.
4b. Accessories
The side anti-personnel guns do a 360 same with the cab. Double hatch opening. Also included is a bigger Fn gun that can be used to replace the standard factory attached. This one has a missile(2) firing gimmick. Only issue again I got is that once you attach it, it is impossible to remove. I am not risking potential damage so just left the BFG in place.
Balancing issues. Yup! There will be issues indeed due to the overall design of the vehicle. But from what I read in previous reviews and feedback from another SW focused site, YMMV? The latter from which I got a lowdown on the AT-ST good and bad attributes is that it is a pain to pose but that this new version already dealt with balancing. Then another article says the opposite. So go figure. In my case, I did not have any IF, as in IF you don't set the legs the same way the box picture is posed. Yup! You have to allow a little slack to adjust the center of gravity. If you set the leg's (the ones connected to the cab all parallel) like the box image, given the weight of the cab, it falls ka-splat face first. You also need to factor in how thin the legs are. They do wobble a lot.
So is this worth purchasing? Verily! I grew up with the Legacy trilogy and watched this with my late Dad. And I recently got access to several 1995 up figures just last December 2024 that were so cost friendly that I could not resist. They were based on the original Kenner molds so good enough for me. This one is technically my 1st updated Hb one. I'm in dopamine high so very satisfied with this.
I am now fighting the urge to look for Ewok figures to role play the RotJ scenes in Endor. Lol!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2021Very cool item. I was concerned about balance after reading the reviews but I'm thrilled with mine. I had a little trouble at first but after putting a couple figures in it (helped with weight distribution) and some fine tuning it's tall, solid and easily repositioned. I understand how some reviews could be concerned about it being flimsy, I would recommend it for adult collectors and gentle play. The level of detail is great although the paint could be a bit more thorough. The included swappable extra gun with spring loaded blaster bolts is a great bonus and adds an extra level of playability. Overall, a great addition to my display collection and probably yours too.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2023I was in my teens when stars came out. I went to see the first movie and was hooked. Now everything that is star wars if it is a good product I will buy for my grandkids happily knowing that they like something that I enjoy. So far the star wars tradition continues in my family.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2020I feel this thing is more for adults, it isn’t really a toy per say, the plastic is rather soft and it is very difficult to get to stand up.
With that said, it is a nice reproduction but anywhere near what the original was.
I purchased a couple of these, one for my son and one for me, the one my son received, he has torn apart and the one for me, I glued the legs into position so it will stand up in my studio, so I can look at it and reminisce on my youth. Lol

- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2019I was hooked on walking armor the first time I saw an AT-AT on screen.
While no gargantuan like its cousins, the AT-ST is just as intriguing, and this model nails all the fine details that get the vehicle people excited.
Please note that as it is in the Black Series line, this guy isn't exactly a toy for children.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2023How can you play with a toy that won’t stand up . Just lay it on floor ? I returned and this company said it was broken and they had to throw it out so they keep my money . First time I ever gave a bad review . They got my cash this time but never again .

Excelente reproducción. Cuesta mantenerlo estable pero se puede y queda genial. La mejor repro de un AT ST hasta la fecha!

5.0 out of 5 stars Trampling Ewoks
The vintage AT-ST used to be one of my dearest and coolest vehicles in the range - my parents never allowed me a AT-AT so the AT-ST was my budget substitute. Still, what a toys it was!, hundreds of plastic Ewoks have been crushed by its fearsome legs and or blown to pieces by its cannons.
This Black Series version is the ultimate AT-ST for me. Even though it is a repaint of the 2009 exclusive vehicle from Walmart. This version is superior as the legs and joints are more tightly connected so that in most poses the walker can actually sustain its weight. Again its super-poseable, which is great but this also leads to play-issues for my son. As he has trouble keeping the walker on its feet while playing and swapping figures in and out.
It’s very detailed and accurately constructed to scale. The top hatch can be opened. And the larger roof opens as well for getting the drivers in and out of the vehicle. But what I really love are the operational window screens. It comes with an interchangeable cannon/gun, with the gun being able to fire 2 missiles. And rotating side-mounted lasers and cannons.
The driver is a neat Black Series figure that is highly articulated and properly detailed. He comes with a generic head with removable helmet and a loose blaster. I already had a couple of single AT-ST drivers from previous lines and fitting a pair of them in the walker looks fantastic - such a thrill compared to my former days of single seated AT-ST’s.
All in all a great vehicle, probably better for display than play. But other than most vehicles neither the box or the walker take up too much space for those with limited living space.
