Product Description
The foodie’s guide to cannabis: a smart, sophisticated, and beautifully illustrated cookbook for at-home chefs wanting to safely create and experience their own edibles.
JeffThe420Chef is revolutionizing the world of edibles. He first began cooking with cannabis to help a close friend’s mother manage the pain, nausea, and discomfort from her cancer treatments. Over time, he developed a specific process that effectively neutralizes the smell and taste of cannabis when infusing it into butters and oils, leading to a new understanding of edibles and their potential for medicinal use.
In The 420 Gourmet, JeffThe420Chef, combines his fun-loving approach to cooking with practical information about marijuana—including specific guidelines for safe dosing (along with a comprehensive dosage calculator), summaries of the principal strains and their typical effects, and details on the herb’s medical and recreational benefits.
Jeff includes the step-by-step process for his signature “light-tasting” canna-butter and canna-oils, the secrets behind his outrageously delicious and truly unique recipes. Once you create these staple ingredients yourself, it is easy to incorporate cannabis into everyday dishes—the “pot-sibilities” are endless!
From brunch and small plates to salads and gourmet dinners—and featuring gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and kosher options—The 420 Gourmet elevates the edible experience. And by following Jeff’s dosage guidelines, the culinary cannabis experience will no longer be limited to a single bite of a brownie. These mouthwatering recipes are fully adaptable to your goals, whether you need a full-course meal for nourishment and pain management or a quick snack to help you focus, relax, and enhance your creativity.
The 420 Gourmet will educate and entertain new and longtime cannabis users alike, while serving as the ultimate guide to cannabliss.
JEFFTHE420CHEF started cooking and baking discreetly with cannabis for friends and celebrities who had medical issues ranging from insomnia to back pain to cancer. He now teaches his canna-butter class, “The Art of Cooking with Marijuana,” across the country in medical and recreational states, and cooks for private parties in California, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Washington, DC. He lives in Los Angeles.

This book is wonderful. The breakdown on dosing is invaluable and necessary to prevent having a bad trip.
I made canna coconut oil following his method but with a few changes. The book said to "Coarsely grind dry herb" but after watching a few of Jeff's youtube videos and reading some of his articles i just broke up the herb with my hand. The book also dries the bud overnight after blanching and before decarbing at 300 ℉ for 20 minutes. But I saw a video where he squeezes out the wet bud then decarbs at 240 ℉ for an hour. I did this and the bud was dry after that and the end product was great.
The smell is most definitely coconut and a faint smell of bud and tastes only like coconut. His washing process seems to be the key and I was afraid to do it at first but it worked out! Please follow his dosing information because my friend over ate some snacks i made and had a very long and awful experience. This is great for people like me who can't smoke due to the smell
If you like food and weed, you should buy this.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this, being the culinary arts and weed consumption connoisseur that I consider myself to be, but this cookbook is the cat's pajamas. I literally want to make every recipe in the book. It all looks delicious, the book is aesthetically appealing in its layout and artwork, and the recipes are easy. I can't wait to get started on my butters and oils, but first I need to make a phone call. Wink wink.
UPDATE: I've made a couple of recipes from this book and have to say, this has given new meaning to "bringing my lunch to work". Teeheehee Can't smell or taste a thing. Thanks, Chef Jeff! :)

Kind of a dumb book. Its just regular recipes that have you add infused THC oils. I was already doing that and thought this book would actually offer something more. Just look up any recipe you love and add in the infused oil and your there.
Worth its weight in GOLD!

I purchased this book about a year ago after seeing some of Jeff's infusion videos on youtube. I got into the nitty gritty of learning his "Light-Tasting" canna butter and oil infusion process, which led me to create great tasting infused products and dishes.
I've been in the restaurant industry for the past seven years so I immersed myself in his content. In the past 9 months, I have had three infused dinners with upwards of 30 people per dinner. These dinners consist of 4-5 courses, which are all microdosed.
I owe all of my success to this book and Jeff's articulation of the infusion process. No matter if you want great tasting edibles for yourself, or want to have dinner parties with friends and family.. this book, along with his videos and other content, will get you there!
Thank you, Jeff!

An excellent starting point for cooking with cannabis

My doctor suggested trying medical cannabis for chronic pain. I spent a large chunk of my life being told cannabis was not good for you, stay away from it, etc. Very quickly I'm learning that we have been deceived for a very long time and have found some relief with it. However, not being a smoker, I wasn't sure what I was going to do, cookies and brownies only interest you for so long. This book was a great introduction to decarbing your buds (who knew you had to do that), how to infuse the buds into butters and oils, etc. to use in cooking, and how to even plan an entire meal around medicating yourself.
I recommend this book for newbies as well as anyone wanting to take cooking magical food to the next level.

This book has some great recipes. I bought it for the cannabutter recipe, but I'm really impressed with this book for the food recipes on their own. It has some very creative and delicious recipes whether you use cannabutter or not.

I really found this book an enjoyable read, with some great recipes. I think a medical cannabis user would find this book a must have, but even if you use cannabis recreationally you would find this cookbook a great addition in your kitchen. A great cookbook for making your own edibles.
Very nice!

Bought this cookbook for a girlfriend of mine for Christmas. She loved it! It arrived quickly and in great condition. My favorite part of the cookbook is the fact that it has tons of full-page, color photos of the recipes!
