Being an author, I thought this book would be highly appropriate to add to my collection of many, many journals. It's quite a sturdy little book and as previous reviews say, a bit smaller than expected. I sat a pen beside it for size reference. The book is quite thick, which is a plus, and the cover does have almost a wood feel to it. I'm only knocking a star off for having unlined pages. Aside from that, I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Though ironic, it is such a cute and cleaver idea, and wonderfully executed. It's nice and study with a lovely shading of wooden designs all along the front, back, and edges of the paper.

This little book get used every single day. And it looks it! Well worn but strong as an ox. I draw pen and ink sketches in it and I don't think it will ever fall apart. Definite five star product!

The book and paper are good quality, the hard cover is textured. I expected it to be small, but wasn't expecting it to be unlined :( maybe I should have read the other reviews. I use it as a drawing book when I actually do have "writer's block" :)

This is an awesome gift for the writer in your family, whether new or seasoned. I bought two of these and immediately thought to use them as little books for keeping track of ideas and notes for stories without having a million little pieces of paper all over the place. Awesome.
