Great story about the Primes and their originby Cha O'Connor (5 out of 5 stars)

Great story about the Primes and their origin. Most closely aligns with the Transformer: Prime TV show, but is a worth while read for any Transformer fan. I got this book and told my kids I had found something in the woods (the Autobot head) and didn't know what it was. They opened it up to the "Transformers" sound and their minds were blown. We read the story, but honestly it was to grown up for them and not enough pictures (4 & 6). The art that is in the book is beautiful and shows some pieces that I believe are all commissioned for this piece.
The Autobot symbol is very neat and makes sounds when you pull each piece (three pieces) apart to get to the compartment where the book lies. It has a hole for mounting the container on a wall, which we did. Beware, none of the pieces "snap" in, so if the Autobot head is mounted vertically the bottom piece has a tendency to slide open if it's in a high traffic area, or hangs near something that will cause the wall to shift (near a door, etc.). It's a cool piece though and my kids love it. I ended up hanging it above the door to my office, so each time I enter I feel like I'm visiting Autobot HQ. Okay, okay... both my kids and I love it.
AWSOME, AWSOME, AWSOME!!!!

First off the packaging it comes in is way cool. It's not just another card board box, it's covered with Transformers images and in full color. Then you slide open the box. The contents inside are even cooler!!! Yes as some have said it's an Autobot face that slides open farely easy and with cool sound effects to boot. Inside is the book all Transformers fans would love to read.
I just read a few pages and was taken in by the depth and how descriptive its wrote in. Just a short note. It's worth the money for any true fan of the transformers, back in the 80s and all the way into the present day now with Michael Bays big time productions and all. Lol oh Michael Bay...
Any way as I was saying, it's worth every penny I spent and more. Again any true Transformers fan, this is a must have. It goes deeper than the movies do. It goes to the very depths of the beginning of the Transformers, the great wars, the fall to earth, it covers all. The covenant of PRIMUS is what it says it is. Just buy one, borrow a copy from a friend, see if it's in a library, ebook online, something to get a copy in your hands to read. I promise, if your a fan and I mean a true fan, it will not disappoint a true fan of the TRANSFORMERS!!!!
Come for the book, not the toy.

First off, please understand this review comes from a pretty hardcore Transformers fan.
I was super excited to get this, and for the most part, it's pretty satisfactory; the book is very well written, features some incredible artwork (including contributions from some of the best artists from the Transformers IDW comics line,) and is a pretty lengthy read. The most devout followers of Primus may find some inconsistancies in this novel's lore; however, as this is likely the official canon, it's hard to find fault with a few minor details.
My biggest concern is the Autobot Emblem that contains the book. I fear the majority of the item's cost is due to this fancy book-holder, and that's a problem. It's very light and feels cheaply made. The rear-set speakers (that require 3 AAA batteries!) are not very good fidelity. When I first took it out of the packaging, a family member asked, "Is that a toy?" And that's pretty much what it feels like.
Worse yet, after opening and closing it once or twice, the top-right third got jammed on one of the internal parts and required quite a bit of force to open again, after which a small piece of plastic was heard rattling around, and needed to be shaken out. The toy still works as far as I can tell, but it's rather disconcerting.
All in all, I'm glad I bought it. But I wish I could have just bought the book for thirty dollars, as opposed to the whole thing for sixty.
Great for adults and children

Great book, will give you the full history of the origin of all the Primes and rise and fall of Cybertron. Is written very well with sentence structure that will be able to be understood by younger children but rich enough for an adults comprehensive read. The artwork is very detailed and spread liberally thru the book. The quality of the paper and binding is worthy of an archive tomb. Each page is very thick and will hold up very well. The plastic cover case is however a little flimsy but treated with care it should last. The sounds are a little rough, but the focus was definitely placed on the quality of the books printing and binding. I am very pleased with this one and if you are a true fan and collector you will be pleased also.
A Transformer History Book to the people of Earth

Wow the box and book cover is bigger than you think. I thought I knew everything about the TF's but this version of Lore (an official new canon) is very complete. Takes you through the origin of the primes, their powers, where the Quientessons came from and so many other tid bits. The book concentrates heavily on the untold history and sometimes glances over some of the detailed lore from the War for Cybertron games and books but that's ok since other books cover those things and adding the detail here would just make it a longer book than needed but if you haven't read the War for cybertron or Exodus than you are missing out. The wall hang-able and hang worthy transforming cover is awesome. My only gripe is a few plot holes (that are forgivable for a title such as this) and some of the illustrations show the TF's in earth modes when the story takes place pre Earth (WTH). None of these things however distract form the complete uncovering of TF mysteries and history. Ever wanted to know where the Autobot sign came from? It's in this book.

This thing is huge. Xbox huge. You can mount it on the wall if your coffee table is full. Though I don't recommend leaving it on the coffee table as it might break through the table or some kid will try to play with its fragile exterior.
It's pretty. But cheaply made. The book inside however is an amazing Transformers Mythos bible.
If this book was found in 100 years after the apocalypse, it could start a religion.
And if Hasbro decides to make a steel or Nintendium version of this collector's item, I'll gladly buy for $400
The History of the Primes, and the Transformers

Yes, I am a G1 Transformers nerd, and I don't care if you know it.
This is an excellent addition to any fan's Transformers collection, and has a great task of pulling together decades of Transformer lore into a coherent package. There's a fair bit of retconning, as far as I'm concerned, but I wish these were the movies we had, instead of the nonsense they've become.
Note that this isn't a toy for kids; the shield, which stores the book, is meant to be hung on a wall without the book, keep the book safe, or be neatly stored away. If you have someone that wants to play with a Transformer, don't buy them this...it's a book you'll want to keep as a key part of your collection.
Best Transformers Story Ever!

I can tell that it was written with care and by a True Transformers fan. The story is so enriching and enjoyable it gave me the warm fuzzies a couple times. I love the description that was written for Thirteen. You can tell who it is by reading the first line. The other characters were well developed and the book in general answered a lot of questions I had regarding the Transformers universe and the parallel between their lives and ours is so clearly defined. I would recommend it to anyone. This is a wonderful keepsake so the epic story can be passed down the generations. Don't let me get started on that awesome case that the book came in... I am one happy camper. "Til All Are One..."
Good collector's piece

I collect Transformers and this thing goes perfectly on my display shelf. It segments into three parts and makes the transformation noise when you open it. Stands by itself with a very slight tilt upwards to make it a better display feature. The only downside is it is kinda heavy with the book inside it... So if the shelf is a wall mounted one or weak, then I would recommend taking the book out. (I only wish there was a Decepticon version available too)
As for the book itself... well it is a collectors item. Don't buy this if you or someone you know watched the movies and like transformers for that reason only. This is like a lore book, detailing history, origins etc.
and would i recommend it to anyone

The book is expensive and with that the hopes of so many people are high. Iv'e wanted this book for a few years now and finally had the ability to get it. and would i recommend it to anyone? Hell yes! specially any transformers fan. not the movies but of the aligned continuity. What other stuff does this book share its continuity with? The games "War For Cybertron" & "Fall of Cybertron", The books "Transformers Exodus", "Transformers Exiles" & "Transformers Retribution". The Shows "Transformers Prime", "Transformers Rescue Bots" & "Transformers Robots in Disguise (2015)"
As for the product itself, It comes in a massive cardboard box that states "The Covenant of Primus : Autobot case with book" and after you get into 3 more layers of card board will you finally find the autobot casing with the book.
The Cons -
Case feels flimsy
Sound effects on the case seem very tinny and not too pleasant
The books cover could have been of better quality but is far from bad
The Pros -
The cover looks amazing with an etch like design of Optimus's head.
The quality of the pages
The artwork is breathtaking
The overall appeal is very satisfying.
The cons are things you could get past, the book is what we came for and the story. true with the steep retail price, the casing could have had much much much more improvement, but i forgive them for it because of the book. The Covenant i the end is worth it, to any Transformers fan, its a little collectible item that just leaves you in awe at this massive franchise and shudder at the movies lack of attention to any of these.

I love transformers and from one fan to another.... just buy the d@#! thing. The book is the meat and potatoes of this package and its worth it. Great art, well written and there are pictures in here i have never seen anywhere else. The sleve covering the box this comes in is fantastic. The plastic autobot book holder is not going to impress anyone. Its weak and flimsy and the sound.. well that wont impress anyone either. It is however a good looking peice of merchandise when hung on the wall like it can also do. Over all im glad i have this to add to my collection as any transformer fan would be.
