Long commercial for D&D
by Michael (3 out of 5 stars)
May 10, 2019

It's a shame they had to work with the Wizards of the Coast on this. It seems to have forced it to be nothing but an ectremely long infomercial for D&D 5e.

The adult humor was neutered, not at all like a Rick and Morty cartoon. "But wait! That's not all!"

I guess it would be fine for a Rick and Morty fan who doesn't know much about role play tabletop games. It might sell them on 5e and thats a pretty easy intro to tabletop gaming, i guess. But anyone already familiar will read this and feel like it's mansplaining RPGs.

The beauty of a Rick and Morty story is knowing it will take a completely unexpected turn. But not this. I paid nearly $15 for a commercial from word one to the extremely predictable, telegraphed conclusion.

Best R & M tale ever, even Pickle Rick

I love Rick and Morty as much as the next cynical millennial on the continent. Tabletop gaming has an even stronger attraction from my heart.

I recommend this story whole-heartedly. It flawlessly nails everything the fans on either side want.

My hopes are that Rick and Morty invade another beloved franchise, and then bestow upon that tale the love and care with which this one was written.

Buy this. You'll love it. The world needs more.

Great for fans of both

I loved this. I think it's a must have for any D&D player that also loves Rick and Morty. I also think it would be great for Rick and Morty fans that want to start playing D&D, but aren't sure where to begin. It breaks down the rules in an easy to understand way while using the Rick and Morty humor that we all know and love.

Great book, with minor character flaw.

I very much enjoy both Rick and Morty and D&D, and this comic hits a lot of the right buttons. The art is great. Having all the alternate covers (which this 4 part comic has a ton of alternates) and character stat sheets included is greatly appreciated. My only issue is some characterization of Rick that doesn't feel very true to his character, but even that doesn't feel like enough to knock off a star. Would definitely continue reading if they ever decided to continue with this crossover.

Fantastic Story for fans of both franchises
by Mike (5 out of 5 stars)
April 24, 2019

This was absolutely fantastic. I was skeptical going in, but the writers did a truly fantastic job of capturing the tone of the Rick and Morty television series while also encapsulating the history and fun of D&D. I would highly recommend this to fans of either (as it may pique your interest in the other) and as an absolute must to fans of both. Great work!

Great Read Designed Specifically for your Predictable Good Taste Brain
by Christopher Miller (5 out of 5 stars)

This is what happens when the algorithms of our overlords seek to maximize profits by seeing the overlap in audiences and fans of intellectual property and mash them together.

Do you like DnD? Do you like Rick & Morty? Do you like comics?

Of course you do, or you would have never seen this in your recommendation list.

Its a fun self-contained story that one could see as a storyboard for an episode of the show. If this popped up in any feed for you, buy it, the overlords know you'll love it!

Just because two things are awesome doesnt mean they go well together
by Mary A Jeschke (2 out of 5 stars)

One giant advertisement for 5th ed. I like DnD and Rick and Morty but this was the worst kind of sell-out pandering. They forgot to put in anything remotely funny or amusing. The plot is cringy and consist of shoehorning the characters into talking about the game.

Overall, I found this derivative and tone deaf to the target audience. Most people who would buy this would already know at least a little bit about DnD. Explaining to them how the game works through boring, unfunny exposition is not necessary. And if they DON'T know whats going on, a quick websearch would explain it far better than this comic.

Hilarious

Big fan of Rick and Morty and Patrick Rothfuss so I got all the individuals when they came out and STILL got the trade. Really amazing story as well as beautiful artwork. Some of the variant covers are amazing. Worthwhile addition for anyone even hesitating because it's just so good.

I am a huge fan of both D&D and Rick & Morty. To see this in existence soothes my soul. It has a really nice story and great artwork. I give it 5 stars and can't wait for the second volume.
