Product Description
A lighthearted—but factual—look at some of the craziest cults in modern history.Do you prefer applesauce (Heaven’s Gate) to Kool-Aid (Peoples Temple)? Do you think carrots are “the food of the Masters” (Church Universal and Triumphant) or that swimming and joking should be forbidden (the Fellowship of Friends)? This is the book for you! We help sort your E.T.-loving Raelians from your Moonies, your snake-handling Church of God with Signs Following from your Branch Davidians.
To make the path to the reader’s chosen cult easy, Which Cult Should I Join? is structured like a Choose Your Own Adventure book—in that the reader makes a series of decisions along the way to come to their chosen cult. And with forty of the most high-profile modern cults covered, we have one to suit every reader.

It's a funny book, but has a stark reality and will smacked you in the face with truth level of every psychotic controlling group you could ever join under the pretense of religion and stay the furthest possible way you could from anything spiritual. I highly recommend this for lemmings or people who want to be entertained.
The choose-your-own design makes it fun to read as well

Essential cult reading! The author has obviously done her research, and her point of view is quite hilarious. The choose-your-own design makes it fun to read as well. This would make a great gift for anyone interested in cults, or just treat yourself to an entertaining read (who doesn't want to know which cult they should join?!) Highly recommend!

"Which cult should I join?" is a brilliant book and it's destined to becoming, excuse the word pun, a cult.
How can a book be so funny, witty yet incredibly informative, it's beyond me.
Jo Stewart did an amazing job at portraying the reality of some of the weirdest cults around the world (be ready for some SERIOUS surprises) while giving the readers a proper choose-your-own-adventure style experience.
A Cult Classic!

Brilliantly written, wonderfully designed and joyfully read by myself, my partner and my sect leader.
I've lent it to just about everyone in the compound - it's all anyone talks about at our group transcendence sessions.
I know which book i'll be taking with me when the rapture finally occurs!
Wicked fun and creepily informative!

I loved choose-your-own-adventure books as a kid and have a healthy fascination with cults so this book was made for me! It has been enormous fun reading this book and I surprisingly learned a lot I didn't know about the crazier cults out there. Jo Stewart knows her stuff and the book is excellently written while playful and fun at the same time.. this one will be sitting on my coffee table for years to come and lent out to a great many friends!
Miss-informative and Christian Centric

As someone who is surrounded by cult members in my everyday life, I was excited to learn about some I may not of heard. It was sad for some of my religious friends to say no to the first question, which involves believing in Jesus as the son of God, and immediately then assuming the reader believes in no god. It gives no option for alternative religion, even more mainstream ones. I could let that slide, we're all pretty desensitized to Christian normality at this point, but it tipped over a line when I noticed misinformation about cults that my friends and even I have had involvement in (for example, calling the Church of Satan the signing over of your soul to the Christian lucifer, when the group is actually atheist). It made me doubletake any other information that could have been falsely presented. Overall, I'd take it with a grain of salt and double check everything you read in this book.
