Please be aware that these can be very dangerous for ...by MomMomMomYes? (1 out of 5 stars)

Please be aware that these can be very dangerous for larger dogs. We purchased 2 of these brand new and within hours of receiving this product one new ball was able to be punctured and our dog's jaw was stuck in the ball. Thankfully we were able to release the jaw and the ball without having to go to the vet. We took that ball away and did not allow for any more play with that ball. Thinking it was a fluke, we let our dog play with second ball which was also brand new and our dog was able to puncture that one as well in less than a couple hours. This time we were able to catch our dog before the jaw was stuck in the ball - again. Please note: Our 2 brand new balls were able to be punctured in less than 24 hours of receiving this product and within hours of playing with them. If you decide to purchase this item - Please keep a watch on your animals, do not leave them alone with this ball. Our opinion and recommendation is to NOT purchase this item for large breed dogs.
Save your dogs teeth! Stay away from this product!! If I could I would give negative stars!!!

The first ball we ordered for our Staffordshire Bull Terrier had only a small hole for drainage. The ball was great and lasted about six months. I ordered a second ball which was supposed to be identical, however, there was a plug in the ball so water or sand could be added to change how the ball would roll. Definitely not the same ball as they claimed. My dog became obsessed with picking the ball up by the plug that was added. He now has two teeth that are nearly broken in half on the bottom and both top k-9 teeth are significantly chipped. We have since taken the ball away from our dog and will be taking him to his veterinarian to see if the damage will be causing him problems and if there is anything that can be done to prevent the teeth from possibly rotting and falling out or needing to be pulled. I will be informing the company that sold us the balls as well as the manufacturer as soon as I know our veterinarians opinion of what I consider to be significant damage to a three year old dog's teeth. We are extremely disappointed with this product and are fairly sure our dog will experience difficulties with his teeth at some point.
Beware of teeth wear

The ball is indestructible and my German Shepherd loved it but it caused significant wear of his canine teeth in just a few weeks. The wear pattern is on the outside of his teeth which suggests it is from pushing not from chewing, and this is the only toy he pushed around.
Not indestructible but not terrible.

We have a power chewer, he will shred logs if you let him. Most "indestructible" toys last a day to 3 days, this latest about a month until he scratched the hell out of it. About another month or two until he made a dent then hole that turned into a gapping hole.
If it was cheaper I'd buy them regularly since nothing else has lasted this long.
First ball was amazing, second one was garbage.

So far this ball had lasted longer than any others we've purchased. The only issues are that our border collie can just barely get the ball in her mouth, which might be a good thing. The ball is heavier than expected and very solid. Her razor like teat only scratch the surface. If you have hard floors you might be a little shocked the first couple times the dog drops it on the floor. I think our dog has been getting frustrated with it since she can't destroy it. Lately she has been playing with it less.
Update: 3/4/17 finally had to toss the ball that we got in August. Ordered a replacement, and the new ball is garbage in comparison. The first one that came was blue and our border collie took several months to gouge small pieces off of it. This one has only lasted maybe 2 weeks and there's orange pieces of plastic everywhere. It definitely seemed different than the last on arrival, clearly it was. I'm going to drop my 5 star rating if this is how they make these balls now. Unfortunate that the new product wasn't even a fraction of quality of the old one.
Definitely buy this ball if you have a dog from a herding breed!

Very similar to Varsity Balls that I suspect my GSD lost to the creek in the woods. I purchased Major's first Varsity Ball for his 1st birthday. Please see attached picture. Boy does he love his balls! Chukits were a huge hit! But this indestructible is Major's all time favorite! After he lost the 2nd Varsity Ball I said sorry buddy but this is getting too expensive. Then I found the virtually indestructible ball on Amazon for approximately $20.00 & Major & I were VERY HAPPY with this ball!!!
He plays with it for so long & so hard that we have to take it from him sometimes so Major will pay Miss Maise some attention. This is the only toy he has that he will not share with her. She really interested in balls anyway. But they do love chasing each other and rough housing (which I send them outside for that b/c that's outside behavior.
Anyway back to the Varsity Ball, both of the balls I purchased I was able to choose a color and I always chose yellow b/c research studies say dogs can see the colors Yellow & Blue. With the indestructible ball I received a red ball. Which is fine with me because the red is easier for ME to see & find when he loses it in the woods where even though with have 3 acres surrounding our home including the woods surrounding our home, the ball still sometimes rolls out of Major's boundaries and we have to go find it & return it to him. Actually he can show us where it is, that's why I think he lost a couple of the V balls to the creek.
In case you are wondering who Miss Maise is I've included a picture of her with one of her preferred toys. In this picture she is about 3 1/2 months old. She's 8 months old now and Major is now 2 years and 8 months old. If you have a breed of dog that likes to herd and has a lot of energy you would like to drain before going on a walk, etc. get this ball. I would recommend going to the Varsity Ball website and watch the video of a dog playing with the V Ball. That is exactly how Major plays with his, except he used his nose too much and it gets sore, hence we take it away from him for a while. Another benefit of this ball is Major's clearing the woods behind our home of a lot of underbrush. As a matter of fact I am going to go back to the Amazon site and buy one for Miss Maise. Between the two of them they could clean up my woods this year. Major will get frustrated and actually bite and pull up small trees and underbrush in his way & Miss Maise love' to help with this particular task (did I mention she's been a destructive pup)!
for hyper active dogs

i think this ball is for stupid dogs...or this ball will make your dog stupid. seriously, this thing turns my mild mannered, rationale, yellow lab into a stark raving mad hound from hell in her attempts to 'get a handle' on this ball from hell.
it is indeed indestructible. it is a hard injection plastic ball. imagine the old red dodge balls, but rock hard. due to the size and hardness, the dog will not be able to bite into it (good), but also will not be able to stop trying to do so. the result is a thoroughly immersive ball chasing experience for the dog...to the point of utter exhaustion.
granted, this is exactly what some dogs need. if you have a hyper active dog bouncing off your walls, get this ball. if you're looking for a nice ball to enjoy together with your dog, don't get this.
Favorite toy in the whole world!!

This ball is my 120lbs GSD's ( German Shepherd Dog) favorite thing in the whole world. We have had this ball for 4 YEARS now, still no holes in it, but it does have a lot of teeth marks on it, so every couple months i take some sand paper to it to get rid of the sharp peices of plastic. My GSD doesn't sit ther and try to chew it, but rather kicks it around like a soccer ball, and while he kicking it he tries to bite the ball. He has gotten really good at kicking it around my yard, he can control it wherever he wants it to go. Sometimes he gets it stuck ( under a car, camper, wheel barrow, canoe, etc, etc..) he'll wine moan and groan, to get me to get it unstuck, but if i give him enough time he can get it him self. He started to get wear spots on lower front leg joints, so i made him some shin guards out of 2" PVC with a 45° and whether stipping (for padding on the inside) and some hook and loop cable staps ( got at HF, or you could get them here on Amazon), then i drilled a bunch of holes in it (for good air flow). This is how much I know he love this ball. About a year ago my other but smaller GSD ( only 60lbs) started to play with this ball as well, but she plays with it a little differently, instead of kicking it around, she pushes it with her nose, this is the main reason I have to sand it down every once in a while, because if I don't she will tear he nose all up and become all bloody. I will have to post a video of them in action, its pretty entertaining to watch them go, everyone that comes over and sees them play with this ball, can't stop laughing. If you do or have ever owned a GSD, then you know that they have there own almost verbal language, so when they are playing with the ball, they kind of talk and or yell at it. I know this is kind of a cliche but, I don't write very many reviews (although i should because i read and use everyone else's reviews) so i thought I should on this ball. Well worth the $20ish that I paid for it, i would definitely buy another if anything happens to this one in a heartbeat. I have recommended this ball to a few other GSD owners that I know and meet. I hope this review helps your decision. Once again another cliche, I was not paid for this review, I didn't receive any discounts, i paid full price
My very active dog loves this ball !

Seriously, this IS THE BEST DOG TOY EVER!!! My dog chews everything-but she can't chew this ball! This is the 2nd toy she hasn't destroyed (and we've been thru a ton of chew toys!). She is a very active younger dog that needs a ton of exercise and stimulation. As you can see from the video, she loves it. She had been playing with it for about an hour by the time I took the video/ I had to entice her inside with yummy treats because she was getting cold. Although it landed in the pond the first day, I was thrilled to find out it floats!! It did somehow gather water inside tho. We tried yo play with it indoors, but she was drooling all over the ball, which was then rolling on my carpet, um, yuck! And, it's a very hard ball, so it was pretty loud every time it banged into the wall. So, it will stay outside. I love the color, easy to see where it is!
Best toy ever for my Pitt Bull
by Wolfwoman (5 out of 5 stars)

Kiko, my deaf Pitt Bull has practically worn his first one out so ordered a new one. Happy to have it as he managed to claw his first one to the point it is rough & no longer safe for him to play with. He is a heavy player & it is not the fault of the product that there are rough spots. Kiko uses the ball as a soccer player would using feet, face, chest, & legs to guide the ball around the yard, growling at it & barking when it gets away from him. I sometimes have to take it away & force him to rest a bit as he enjoys this toy so much. My one disappointment in the replacement ball is the old one had a screw like area you could use to put water in the ball for weight. The new one doesn't have that. However Kiko is very happy to have a new one so I'm happy too. I will be ordering a couple more so he has them ready when needed! Kiko also left two of these balls for the dogs at the shelter he came from so they can enjoy his favorite toy. This is a great product!
