Just a fork. If you got this in a restaurant, you would not notice it at all

Even though I knew these were touted to be Designed and engineered to be something really special, and I tried to see it and feel it, it really is just a fork. It does not feel funny going in your mouth, it is not easier to use, it does not feel better, it does not cut better when you use the side, I would give this a pass if I were you

No way are these stainless steel.

The forks are handwashed and dried, then stored separately from the other cutlery. After about 5 uses one of the forks is already tarnished and has a spot of rust starting. I feel bad only giving these a one star rating because they do function as forks. But there is no possible way these are stainless steel.

I can't believe I'm reviewing a fork.

A) They look black in the picture but they aren't. They are in fact a matte silver. B) Food sticks nicely once pierced by the mighty tangs of the Knork.

The real cool part is that it can cut through a ton of stuff by using its side. Chicken breast? No problem. Hot Pockets didn't stand a chance. Not so much with steaks though. They're heavy, they look cool, and they're functional. I ended up buying the whole set and the steak knives too.

I love these Knorks!

Amazing forks / knorks! I bought these as a trial set, to see how I liked them, before deciding on buying a full set. I absolutely love them! They are extremely well made, have a nice weight in your hand, and the knorks are carefully designed to have curves and flattened areas exactly where they're needed in order to make them extremely comfortable to use. The beveled edge on the sides on the tine really do cut through food very easily, including meat! And it will not cut or scratch or feel even the slightest bit rough against your mouth at all. My next purchase will be a full set of these. To me, they are the perfect flatware set.

Nice, but not quite what I expected.

They are attractive, well-made, weighty, wash well and are overall very nice forks.

As some other reviewers have mentioned, they do have rather Sharp prongs. They are also rather curved, so almost spoon shaped.

The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because they are supposed to be good for cutting food. We haven't found them to slice through food (meat or veggies) any better than our regular forks.

Lovely, love them - not perfect, but way better than anything else

I love Knork's tableware. It's dressy without being formal, heavy and elegant. I've bought an entire set of Knorks (for 10) I like it so much. Not everyone agrees - my sister thinks they're too heavy, but she has trouble with hand strength, so she likes light tableware and dishes. My hands are quite arthritic, but these are fine for me, and cut many foods well, just not steak or very tough anything. I bought the glossy ones because they are so beautiful, but if you haven't grown tired of matte finishes (I had), that is more practical than glossy (which will lightly scratch even with care). However, they are still very attractive. They really do cut better than other forks, you can wash then in the dishwasher, they will tip over (or out of a) yogurt cup, and they just feel better to eat from than anything else that I've tried. I also love the rest of this cutlery line.

These are my favorite utensils. The edges are NOT going to cut ...

These are my favorite utensils. The edges are NOT going to cut your mouth. (Several people have asked me that) They are heavier that any other dinner fork I've used. The tapered section below the tines is thick as you hold it 90 degrees to cut. That thick section is exactly where you apply pressure in the cutting motion. It's design is well thought out and comfortable to use.

Saw these in Bed, Bath and Beyond. Love them.

They're very solid, very heavy, and the curve of the fork is pretty severe. They are definitely not lady forks, but they are wonderfully satisfying to hold.

The only thing I can say is that the picture is slightly misleading. It makes the forks look almost black, or at the very least much darker than they really are - to the point where I was worried about buying them. In person, they're the color of your average stainless steel refrigerator, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

As to the ability to slice, it's okay. I mean, you're not going to be cutting steaks or anything - you really won't be cutting anything you couldn't cut with the side of a normal fork. But who cares? These things are heavy and pretty and definitely worth the money.

Good balance, sturdy handle

These are nice forks. I bought them for my Mom who could only eat with one hand after a stroke. The edges of the knork will cut easily through soft foods, but I didn't find them all that much different than a regular fork. They are very sturdy and feel good in your hand. Mom couldn't really use the edge feature, I still had to cut up all of her food, which is ok.

Knorks Are Knice!
by Michael Sean MccAuley (5 out of 5 stars)

They have just enough of an edge to cut cold (thick) chicken and even made quick work of under-cooked enchiladas! Despite the appearance in the pic they are matte SILVER, not matte black. They're thick and chunky enough so you know they're not going to bend and flex but not too heavy. Great design and a great product...and kids REALLY like 'em and now you don't need to hand knives to your children most of the time! All my co-workers are buying a set after seeing mine today...
