Worked for about 3 months with occasional use

Pros: Cool gadget that sent great vapor rings. You can adjust the distance of the shot and make the rings thinner and faster, or scale it back to make them larger and thicker. You can also turn sound on or off when the trigger is pulled.

Cons: It stopped working 3 months after purchase. I may have used this item 10 times. The sound still works, but the vapor doesn't form anymore. When it did work, it took a little time to build up the vapor to shoot. Don't think you can pick it up and it fires vapor rings immediately. You need to hold down the lower trigger for a while until vapor starts falling out the end, then pull the trigger on top. It's a bit confusing. Also, its very hard to see the rings during the daytime. You truly need a dark background to see the vapor (similar to the pictures shown).

I did like the product, but expected to get more use out of it.

Lasted 5 minutes before it caught on fire

Please DO believe the other 1-star reviews. While the idea is cool, and the device does produce fog rings, they are small and somewhat difficult to see. Nothing like illustrated in the advertising. The worst part of this is, within the first 5 minutes of trying to toy out, the element that heats the fogger fluid made a loud POP and then a small flame! I quickly blew it out and the toy no longer functions. This toy is cheaply made and dangerous IMHO. Amazon should immediately stop selling them and refund all who've purchase them before a kid burns down a house accidentally from a malfunctioning toy.

We we did get is a disappointed 8 year old

Reading through the reviews, I can only assume some of these work and some of these are just duds. Unfortunately, we got a dud. I'd give it zero stars if I could. We tried everything and couldn't get a single vapor ring. We we did get is a disappointed 8 year old. :(

Very short lifespan

This toy was fun for a few days. The first one I got broke the second day I owned it -- the heating element literally caught on fire. I sent it in for a replacement, and received the wrong color (but didn't complain). The replacement stopped producing smoke (heating element was broken again) on the second day of using it and I gave up.

Cool idea, poorly executed

This thing eats batteries like no other toy I have seen. It takes 6 AA's and my kid will kill it in one day blowing smoke rings that are barely visible. The LED light worked for about 5 minutes, then broke, the sound effects are hit and miss, and the stupid thing takes 5 to 10 minutes to get ready to use. Kids want to be able to use their toy when they pick it up, so it didn't go over very well with any of my 3 children.

Little smoke, no mirrors
by Pstros (2 out of 5 stars)

Meh. It shoots smoke rings all right. Not very big, but you can see them. There's an issue with the pump system; it works like a squirt gun to move smoke fluid into a heating chamber but it gets vapor lock. If it stops, it requires opening the fill plug to let in air. After that it works until the next time it stops.

Son loved it.

Got it via amazon in good condition and on time. A small bottle of liquid was provided with it. The toy makes little annoying sound compared to other similar toys. The smoke smells ok, and comes out a circle every time which is amazing. It been 2 weeks and so far we've used up about 40% of the liquid provided, and new bottles are at two bucks if needed. Recommended! Specially for a little critter like my son at age 5.

It's somehow just so much fun to shoot a smoke ring at someones head just ...

Bought older versions of these for my sons and nephew for Christmas years ago and they were a huge hit. Just gave these newer designed models (the old ones had no sound or light) to my grand kids for Christmas and again had a huge hit. Of all the stuff they got for Christmas they each had to get these out and play with them. It's somehow just so much fun to shoot a smoke ring at someones head just to have it dissipate when it strikes. They are a small lesson in patience. At first the kids want to rapid fire which just doesn't work. They have to learn to give the toy a few seconds to build up some fog in order to create the rings when shooting. These are just flat out fun to play with.

It includes the gun and fog juice. There are no projectiles to shoot into peoples eyes or get lost. The fog juice bottles now come with an attachable tube to make filling the reservoir very easy and difficult to spill. They do require six AA batteries.

Disappointed, too much of a hassle to return.

Pretty disappointed. The product doesn't seem to produce anything like what the videos have shown. I watched some independent user videos on YouTube so I thought I knew what I was getting. The fog doesn't really build up in my device, so I never get much more than noise, and no show. There are two triggers - one you depress to warm the heating element and a second you use to hammer the drum-like membrane that produces huge air puff/vortex and pulls fog along with it. I'm thinking mine might have been defective, but maybe not.
