Product Description

Brighten your surroundings with an Allsop Home and Garden WheelEasy Holding Yard Cart. Voted one of the Wall Street Journals's top ten gardening products of the year, the WheelEasy line of ground, flush loading garden carts are in a league of their own. Unlike anything else on the market today, WheelEasy's unique soft, sided canvas barrow lays flat on the ground where gardening takes place. Just sweep, rake, roll, slide or drag directly into the canvas barrow, no heavy or awkward lifting required. The WheelEasy is available in two sizes. Use the original WheelEasy for big jobs, since it has a capacity of 350 lbs and the WheelEasyLE for smaller jobs (150 lb. capacity). Yard work is fun, but we’re always looking for ways to make it easier. Why break your back if you don’t have to? Allsop has a great way to save your back and still get the job done. The WheelEasy is the next step in the evolution of the wheel barrow. But to be technical, it’s unfair to think of it as a wheel barrow. The WheelEasy is a compact and economical collapsible yard cart. It’s the ideal product for yard work ranging from collecting weeds to spreading bark, moving gravel or rocks or even pruning. Seriously, this tool will make the work easier. When you drop the handles to the ground, you get ground, level loading. You don’t need to lift anything to get it into the WheelEasy, just rake, shovel or slide. The only lifting you do is lifting the handles from the ground. And according to the laws of physics, you’re only lifting a portion of the load. Use the WheelEasy to make it easier to replant a shrub, move a boulder, put out some bark or rake some leaves. Use a wheel barrow to mix concrete. This product is guaranteed under warranty one year from original date of purchase, proof of purchase required, manufacturers defect only. In addition to these garden tools check out our array of outdoor solar lighting. Allsop is the founder of the concept "solar garden art". Allsop Home & Garden is known for unique combinations of green solar technology, efficient LED lighting, artisan Hand-blown glass and use of other creative materials with solar power. Think of this as a sturdy tarp on wheels
by Carol J. Michel (4 out of 5 stars)
June 7, 2015

Definitely a useful addition to the garden tool shed. I saw it on a garden walk and decided I had to have one, too.

Unlike other reviewers, I had no problems putting it together. All the holes were in the right places and I had no problems with just the one page of instructions. The only tools I needed were a Philips head screwdriver and an adjustable wrench. It did have a bit of an odor from the plastic when I first opened the box, but after a few hours of airing out, the odor was gone.

It rolls easily. I set it near where I was weeding and deadheading and threw everything on it. Once it was heaping full, I was able to wheel it to the compost bin and empty it out. Being at ground level made it easy to throw stuff on it. I also used it to carry a big bag of mulch to where I was using the mulch. It was easy to drag the bag on to the Wheeleasy, since it sits at ground level.

I don't think this is a replacement for a metal wheelbarrow, unless you have a small garden and don't haul heavy items. Think of this as a sturdy tarp on wheels and you'll think of many good uses for it. The flat design makes it easy to stow it away in a small space or hang it from a sturdy hook

Absolutely perfect
by a (5 out of 5 stars)

I don't normally write reviews on amazon, which shows how happy I am that I found this!!! I'm a petite female who only needed something to easily haul bags of mulch/ fertilizer around my yard. Today was the first time I used it but I was giggling at how perfect it was. I purchased the larger size and could easily pick up and push three bags of compost. Probably could have taken four.

Putting it together would have been easier with a second person, and the canvas ended up upside down the first time, but it was easy enough to put together, twice. I didn't need to do anything extra to make it fit together, like some other reviews mentioned. It lives hanging on a hook in the garage, couldn't do that with a wheelbarrow.

Great for the beach!
by A. S. (5 out of 5 stars)
July 12, 2017

We needed something to tote all of our stuff to the beach and the collapsible carts had terrible reviews. We stumbled across this and decided to try it. It's been great! Packed sand and grass is no problem. We were concerned loose beach sand would be bad but with a fully inflated tire it moves freely and easily right over the sand! No struggle! Collapses down nicely, but probably too large for someone with a car. We have an envoy so with the third row seating folded down it fits great with room to spare. We can load up a cooler, couple chairs, towels, tackle box, fishing rod, and a backpack. If you come across a curb you will need a little help. Just have someone pick up the front end by the black bar and you're good to go! Handle pading is soft and durable. Great buy!

most affordable, versatile & portable wheelbarrow EVER
by bugpig (5 out of 5 stars)
September 12, 2019

i love this wheelbarrow. i LOVE this wheelbarrow. things i love about it:
- takes up little space when you're not wheelbarrowing loads around and need to store it. unlike a standard non-collapsible wheelbarrow, i can easily put this one in my wimpy sedan and take advantage of opportunities to load up free materials in locations awkward to transport to vehicle. i can hang it from a wall when i want to put it away, i can put it in a bin, hell i could lay it on a shelf if i wanted to.
- easy to move between loads - you can just fold it up and throw it over your shoulder and save some time.
- barrow tarp body is definitely high quality and durable
- love the carabiner over-strapping setup to 'close' and 'open' the barrow tarp body end; makes it easy to dump
- bar at the wheel well makes it especially easy to dump by tipping against handles and lifting by the bar
- better control over dumping due to tapered body shape & easy to drag via wheel bar
- great quality wheel
- metal materials are heavy duty but not heavy weight, easy to carry
- price is still lower than most other wheelbarrows even though this guy does almost as good as all the rest - a 350lb load for the kind of person who needs an easy-store / easy to move wheelbarrow for non-permanent landscaping needs is just right honestly

only thing i hate about it is that it made moving loads so darn convenient it started to make it even harder for me to resist ponying up for a little roto tiller hehe ;)

Assemble first, throw out box later!
by Lynn (2 out of 5 stars)
May 1, 2019

I only gave this product 2 stars, because when I started the assembly, I found a part was missing. It was just the nut that holds the wheel bolt in place, so I thought I could get a replacement at Home Depot. As it turned out, the threads on the bolt were stripped in places, so I had to buy another bolt as well. The same length bolt was not available, so I have a longer one which sticks out more, but isn't a problem. I have yet to figure out from the instructions how to fold the wheelbarrow up for storage. It also has to be stored flat or hung up somehow since when it's leaned against a wall, it simply rolls out. All that said, I think it will be very useful.

Easy to put together
by Jody (5 out of 5 stars)
July 13, 2018

I have not had a chance to use it. But it was very easy to put together. When I read the reviews, I was concerned, but every hole lined up, the instructions are easy to understand. Took 5 minutes to put it together. Looks sturdy and I am excited to try it.

Cool cart!
by J (5 out of 5 stars)
January 31, 2018

Cool cart! I use this cart around my horses to carry buckets and other things. It's lightweight and folds up very small. When folded, you remove one pin near the wheel and put the pin in a holder. It stays put in there and takes just a few seconds to reinsert it.

The nylon, handles, and wheel appear that they will last a long time.

very good and useful product for the cost
by RJ (5 out of 5 stars)

PROS and CONS listed below.

I have had this cart for 2 seasons and never stored it inside as I should have in North Georgia. I also do NOT move the pins around... don't see any reason for it. It still folds quite flat - just wider - even in the "open" position. The tire finally popped this past winter when I moved it in freezing weather and tried to roll over a 4x4 in the yard. Completely understandable in my opinion; I should have known better. I am back for another, or may go for the larger version. However, I do find that when this is full of dirt or mulch it is about as heavy as I can handle, so a larger version might tempt me to go beyond my capability and hurt my back (some more).

I mainly use it for hauling dirt or mulch (usually uphill) and for hauling heavy bags of gardening materials/supplies from my car to the back yard.

PROS:
1. I LOVE how flat it lays which allows me to easily shovel or push or throw dirt or leaves directly into it.
2. Nice and light-weight, doesn't add much to the overall load.
3. Tire rolls nicely, but could be more durable/heavy-duty. Might be a trade-off between the two though, from what I have read.
4. Just right capacity for me (up to 150 lbs). I doubt I have ever exceeded much over 100.
5. I found it easy to assemble, but did have to use some of my brain - not just the instructions.

CONS:

Not many...
1. Wish the handle grips were nicer.
2. Pin system seems like a hassle, but as mentioned above I do not use it.
3. Tire finally popped - my fault though. And see #3 above.

Hope this helps.

Perfect for a Casual Gardener
by Biblioholic (5 out of 5 stars)
August 2, 2010

I ordered this on Thursday and it arrived Friday -- unassembled, of course! Contrary to many reviews, my package contained all the hardware and instructions; I even had an extra detent pin!

Assembly, by one not-so-strong female appeared almost impossible. No matter how well I lined up the holes, the detent pin would not go in. Frustrated, I used a hammer and they all slipped in quickly and neatly. I suspect some of the holes are so close to the diameter of the pins they have to be forced in.

Whoever sewed up the canvas goofed on one side, so there is this extraneous flap. However, it doesn't interfere with use. I do wish the tire were tubeless and don't look forward to when it needs air or a new tube.

Once assembled, the wagon is easy to fill and manuever. I knew I needed a small wheelbarrow and this is so much easier than a metal one. Although I haven't changed the pins to "store," it fits neatly behind the bench on my front porch.

The rated capacity is only 150 pounds, but the higher the capacity, the heavier the barrow. I'd rather make three trips to move 300 pounds, than put the complete load in a larger barrow and try to move it. (Yes, I know I said three trips when it could be done in two, but I prefer to keep the weight down.)

All in all, this was a super buy. I'd recommend it to anyone who wanted a wheelbarrow for small loads.

Good Idea, Horrible Execution
by Lakonikos (1 out of 5 stars)
December 2, 2013

Many things that I don't like about this cart: The manufacturing is so imprecise that a large number of the components did not fit together: I had to grind down the bearings on the wheel as they were too wide to fit in the chassis. I had to drill thru the tubing in two places to get the components to fit together. The material off-gasses and stinks. The material is not attached to the poles, so it slides down the poles with a heavy load, rubbing on the wheel. And when rolling on an incline, the metal bar around the front of the tire hits rocks or roots. Might work well if you are just carrying around leaves or sticks for short distances...

Great prototype - needs improvement
by RMPpdx (2 out of 5 stars)
October 17, 2019

This is a great concept, somewhat poorly executed. The tire was deflated on arrival, and the valve position and type is so problematic, a local bike shop managed to inflate it for me (with difficulty), and I am looking at replacing the tire with something that's easier to maintain. The screws in the handles that support the flap are poorly fitted, and I expect them to fail after minimal use. I also thought the "folding" part of the tool would be functional, but you have to insert pins to make it work, and it won't fold with the pins installed. There were not easy to insert, so I do not relish taking them in and out. At least it's overall size is somewhat flat. This is a good prototype for a product that needs a few improvements to be ready for sale.

needs redisigned
by Tracy Pitt (3 out of 5 stars)
June 9, 2019

I was impressed by the sturdiness of the canvass. I hauled 2 cubic yd of larger river rock, and the canvass and stitching is intact. Overall, good quality. My low mark is based on design. It is not ergonomic, like a traditional wheel barrow. When loaded, I was walking "hunched over", which was bad for my low back. While walking with a load, your shins contact the edge of the canvass. If the canvass basket was shorter, it would be 5 stars. I ultimately borrowed my neighbors wheel barrow. It is compact for storage.

Solid, but not useful in practice.
by G. G. (1 out of 5 stars)
October 6, 2013

After having used this for light duty stuff, it really wasn't that great and would not recommend. First, assembly was not easy. Attaching the wheel was rather difficult and required a lot of force and prying. The bag part slides down the handles while pushing it, which means you have to hold it up on the handles while using. The two handles are in a fixed position, so you cannot make the bag area deeper and in reality it holds very little. The handles will always be set on the ground, so you'll be bending over to pick them up. Tipping the thing over to dump it's contents is awkward: the bar on the front of the wheel prevents you from tipping it forward and the floppiness of the bag makes it difficult to really flip sideways.

It does seem solid once built though.

Poor instructions!
by Rickaren (4 out of 5 stars)
April 28, 2017

Poor instructions! Like everything would not be an issue second time around. Common sense, but did not show to insert handles through canvas BEFORE mounting. Only four pins NOT 6 to use. No valve stem cap. Glad to see pull-pins to store instead of bolts and nuts. Overall should do the job. This is a review of WheelEasy 350 pound unit.
