Waterfall machine
by Dan (5 out of 5 stars)

I bought this duck expecting a nice pool toy, for leisurely basking in the sun. From the day I unpacked the duck, I knew it was too special to be contained within the flat water constraints of a small backyard pool. I knew he wanted to spread his wings and fly. So naturally, when I knew he was ready, I took him off a 10 foot waterfall.
+ The head handles work great to help get a solid boof off the lip.
+ See through head was great for visibility when avoiding rocks in the rapids
+ Great flight characteristics
+ Can carry a 160 pound person going off a waterfall without popping
- Will pop with a 200 pound person going off a waterfall

Do not go on another day without this duck in your life.

This duck is amazing! I am 6' 180lbs and rode this duck down the South Platte for a few float trips (even on rough waters) and she survived a few hours of sledding - only lost a wing the last time i took her down the hill. I'll be patching her up soon enough and hitting the snow again. I am amazed at just how resilient the duck is! Definitely worth it, so much fun!

We spent all lust summer obsessed with this duck, it's very sturdy and a lot of fun. Can't wait to break it out again this year.

I wish I had a better picture, but it is at my mother's house in Florida and is in storage right now. Please also enjoy my dog in the photo.

Awesome with Adult Supervision
by B (4 out of 5 stars)
May 16, 2016

This is awesome. It's really hard to stay on, and I would STRONGLY recommend adult supervision even (maybe especially) with teenagers. Drinking adults trying to get on this thing and stay on it is beyond hilarious. We bought ours for a river, but put it in a pool. I think it is durable enough to handle a float trip.

Downside: The head on ours won't stay inflated fully. I think there's a tiny hole. It is still very obviously a duck, and it's not a deal breaker (especially because it isn't needed to float) but for awesome pictures, we had to add a little air throughout the day. It comes with a patch, but after a few drinks, it doesn't matter.

Also- PSA: You won't realize how much time has passed when you're playing on this stuff. Wear sunscreen. Ouch.

the smile on his face make us know we made the perfect purchase. This duck is actually fairly large

We bought this duck as a gift for my friend for his birthday. He absolutely loves ducks so when we surprised him with his very own duck in the pool, the smile on his face make us know we made the perfect purchase. This duck is actually fairly large, even for a couple of crazy college kids this duck was still big enough to ride on. It was not however, easy to balance on while in the pool. It takes a fair amount of skill to tame the wild beast and let him carry you over the water.

We did however have some issues initially when we tried to inflate him, it seemed like the valve on it wasn't working properly and it took us longer than it should have to blow him up. The build quality on it seemed decent, but not excellent, and sadly this little warrior did not stand up to the battles of teenage boys and their little brothers jumping on his back, and we had a very sad duck funeral a few weeks later. He will be missed.

Impossible to sit on..
by investingwisely (3 out of 5 stars)
September 21, 2015

Purchased this duck for a pool party and inflated it without a pump (it definitely took some time). The duck is super cute, HUGE, and sturdy plastic (still in the pool months later) but unfortunately no one (ages 13-19) was able to actually get on it. We tried for hours but it kept tipping over. We tried getting on from outside of the pool while people held it, jumping onto it, climbing onto it from the pool ladder. It just kept tipping over. When someone was able to sit on it, they'd tip over in a few seconds. Overall I do regret this purchase, I would have rather bought a duck that wouldn't tip over and could actually be sat on. The point was for it to be relaxing but trying to sit on the duck was exhausting and not worth it. Overall the quality of the material used is good because after being jumped on a million times it never popped but then again no one got to sit on it so I guess it was pointless.

whimiscal big yellow duck!
by deborah (5 out of 5 stars)

This is my third big yellow duck. It makes a wonderfully happy and frivolous décor sitting guard-duck by the pool. The problem is whenever children come over the first thing they want to do is ride on the duck. And that's usually the end of the big yellow duck. Three strikes and we're out..no more kids allowed to jump on the duck.

We use these "big" ducks symbolically for a fundraiser that floats handheld rubber ducks in a race down a canal. The "wranglers" herd the little ducks while riding these big inflatables, so they take a beating. We've used our "herd" of inflatable for more than a decade, but inevitably, some have developed leaks. So we decided to cull the herd, and replace a few with new duckies. The new younger models are built just as well as the oldsters, and we hope to get another decade out of the youngsters, riding them just as hard!

Best Inflatable purchase
by JPriddy (5 out of 5 stars)
June 2, 2014

I purchased this rubber ducky for my daughter's rubber ducky themed birthday pool party. I had low expectations for durability, but it looked really cool and I thought it would be a great decoration for the party. The packaging was ripped and beat up so I didn't even expect him to inflate, but he did - and very easily with a hand pump. Over the years we have purchased many, many, many large inflatables for pool fun and some are more durable than others, but so far this is the most durable inflatable we've ever had. Ducky is made of a high quality material - the same type that our lake tube is made of and it easily survived 3 hours of 17, 8-10 year old girls jumping on him, pulling on him and riding on him. Ducky was very popular. He is still floating in the pool several days later and I have not had to re-inflate him once in over a week. The only negative is that he is kind of hard to board. Someone needs to hold him while the other gets aboard, but once on, he is very easy to stay on. He looks just like the photo.

Not safe for little kids
by Linda T. (3 out of 5 stars)
September 19, 2017

It's so narrow and top heavy that it won't even stay upright. It's cheap for a reason. Only teenagers who think it's fun to fall over 200 times will enjoy this. I wouldn't let my kids under 10 even get on it because I was afraid they would bust open their heads on the side of the pool! Look for something with a wide base so it will be more stable and safe if you're shopping for little ones!
