I used the same one for about 7 years and ...

I used the same one for about 7 years and have bought two for all my family. The trick is to load about 4 to 5 bags the set all the bags down allowing the weight to come off the handle momentarily which closes it. Then pick up with fitting your hand around the dummy proof finger molded grooves. Can't live without these.

Eh, OK I guess.

While in theory, this item looked exactly like what I needed, I found that placing bags with heavier items on the grip made it stress under the weight, and it was cumbersome to carry as a result. I discovered that placing my heavier plastic bags into an insulated grocery bag enabled me to sling it over my shoulder, which made carrying it much more easy.

This item would be better suited to plastic bags with lighter items, so as to consolidate them.

Broke instantly, doesn't hold up at all

The clip mechanism broke instantly, and the plastic is too flimsy and the handle twists under any weight. I just threw it away.

It works, but

This is a pretty good idea but it isn't strong enough, at least in my opinion. It works fine for two or three bags but when I shop I usually have nine bags and some of them are quite heavy. I bought this so I could make only one trip from the car to the house with all the groceries but when I do , using the grip, it opens up and tends to twist. As a result I still have to make multiple trips back and forth. For just a few bags it works just fine but for the type of use I wanted it's just okay.

bag handles

This is a terrific gadget given to me as a gift by a friend. I then ordered more for my sister, who has MANY stairs. Even when young people carried her groceries for her, they previously had to make more trips. They really help distribute the weight as well as making it easier to carry several bags at once. Just be sure you don't accidentally turn them upside down and hold them by the bottom (the grey button needs to be on top as you use the handle) as the weight of the bags will cause the handle to open if it is upside down.

It's okay

I use this more for groceries since I live in a 2nd floor apartment. I've had it a few months now and it hasn't failed, but it's definitely a little flimsy, like it could snap in half at any moment in use. The locking mechanism isn't really effective.

Does the job, but...

... but it was more flimsy than I expected. I wouldn't dare put the advertised max of 50lbs on it - it flexes so much with only 20lbs that the lock slips. It's basically a carabiner, so next time I'll probably go find a heavy duty METAL carabiner instead. Still, 3 stars so far.

Especially great for carrying groceries
by rbindc (5 out of 5 stars)

These things work like a champ. But probably only worth it if you live in a high-rise or have to carry groceries (or whatever) a long distance. I am able to put 6-7 plastic grocery bags on each - depending on what's in the bags. I get comments asking where to buy them all the time.

Not worth it...breaks
by Amber (1 out of 5 stars)

Terrible. I wanted to use it to take many bags at once, but there is definitely a weight limit and anything more than a gallon of milk will break the device. Good concept, but too cheap to keep up with average grocery loads. Broke in the first try.

Ok and useful

The product isn't as sturdy as I thought it would be, especially by the opening. When you push the button, it doesn't quite close all the way and you have to hold it just right or the bags slip off. Once you figure that out, it's all good and serves it's purpose. The button you push and the latch itself could be a little better quality, but it's a good product overall.
