Not Ready for Prime Time

The 7 x 5-foot EZ Leaf Hauler is a magnificent design, and like the Little Girl with the Curl, when it is good it is very, very good. On the other hand, the Leaf Hauler fits firmly into the category of those products which fail to fulfill their design potential. In this case, the fiberglass poles which shape and reinforce three sides are insufficiently robust, and generally break before the first season's leaves have all been gathered. While better poles of 7.6mm diameter may be substituted, the cost of these is significantly greater than that of the Leaf Hauler, and the poles themselves can be difficult to find. Furthermore, the fabric "tunnels" in which the poles ride are of an extraordinarily thin and easily punctured material, and the stitching which anchors these to the Hauler body is ridiculously fragile. Bottom Line: For more robust fiberglass poles, stronger tunnel fabric and improved, quality stitching, I would happily pay three times the Amazon price, as the EZ Leaf Hauler would be an indispensably functional, durable, and time-saving product. However, until this or another manufacturer catches on, save your money.

well designed practical products.Small problem( disconnected rod ) easy to solve

good designed: practical easy to use and the price is good.Due to it function better even compare to leaf tarps .For the stable rod easy to disconnect I just use supper glue to each connections before put it in. I try it three times already even load with heavy wet leaves without any problems. After few more use one stable rod push througe the conner pocket.I just push the rod back and use a paper stapler put one stapl to close the opening and problem solve in minutes. After few more use the rear support rod broke due to over bend it due to rough use.I repair it even half inche short but still fit for prevent future brake again , I apply a wooden rod attach to both end of oringinal support rod then it would not be over bend. The wooden rod just 1.95$ 8 feet long from home depo .

Get a wheelbarrow with two wheels that till instead of this $$ Tarp
by Charles Revelle (2 out of 5 stars)

The quality of Tarp Material and Handles are very good. After three hauls of leaves to my back yard with 3/4 load, one of the side tent poles broke, and the rod material has broken off inside the Ferrule. Might be able to drill it out. After each haul at least one of the pole ends would slide our the pocket.

Should of gotten the smaller version, 3/4 load is to much weight to be picked up by the handles, have to drag the unit on the grass to my garden.

E-Z Leaf Hauler is easy to use!
by Tuning All Day (5 out of 5 stars)

This is my third E-Z Leaf Hauler. I have to clean up leaves from four big old maple trees by myself. I like the handles, the stakes and the "wall" that keeps the leaves contained. The handles make it easy to "roll" the leaves out of the hauler. Unfortunately, the rods that hold up the wall are made of fiberglass (I think), so they tend to fray or shred or poke holes through the fabric that holds the rods. Otherwise, I think the E-Z Leaf Hauler does a better job and makes the job easier than using a plain tarp to haul leaves by oneself.

Expedites Leaf Remoal
by Jay J (4 out of 5 stars)

We live in the woods and the leaves really pile up around the house. We have a fence and wall on three sides and a rake or leaf blower can only help me pile the leaves up against the wall. In the past I have filled 30gallon trash cans with leaves and hauled them to dump over the wall. This container is perfect. Two stakes in the front hold the front edge taught while I rake the leaves onto the bed. It is then easy to unstake, fold up, and carry the equivalent of 3-4 trash cans of leaves to the wall. It has really cut my leaf clearing time. I have only used it for a month (4 raking sessions) so I do not know how it will hold up over time. However, for now, I think this was a smart purchase.

Addendum- at the end of the season one of the stays that forces the hauler into shape failed. The hauler is still usable and I still think it better than the alternatives but it would be better if the stays were more substantial.

Buy a Tarp Instead.

Largest pole broke after the first use. The three poles are flimsy. It takes two people to assemble and takes too long. You might as well buy a tarp.

Great idea - poorly executed
by mollydog8 (2 out of 5 stars)

The only thing that holds together on the EZ Hauler are the handles. The rods break, the corner pockets that hold the rods break and the rods push through them, the material holding the ground pins on either corner break, and the tarp itself is thin and wears full of holes. Still, I have continued to patch and fix mine since the first month, and I've thought of making a better one for sale. It's too bad that it's so cheaply made -- it's like a beautiful kite that blows apart in the wind.

Have used this EZ leaf hauler several items this fall already. It works much better than i expected. I suspect This was designed by someone who has a big yard and big leafy trees. Very pleased with purchase.

Wore out the old one - Bought a replacement
by David C (5 out of 5 stars)

Used up my last one, so I needed to get a new one. This is the best reference I can think of.

The old one carried grass clippings, limbs, weeds, and the dirt its roots used to sit in. All get hauled to our dump site.

Had a little bit of difficulty assembling--the rods are supposed ...

Had a little bit of difficulty assembling--the rods are supposed to be inserted in very small pockets. They were difficult to place the rods and keep the small pockets open to receive the rod ends. The 7 foot length is about one foot longer than my needs. I had assumed that with all the sown together sheets of fabric/canvas that the true lengths would be shorter than advertised --not so it this case.
