See ya

I've tried handlebar mounted mirrors, helmet mounted mirrors...forget it! This mirror which rides on the back of your hand is perfect for my needs. I get to check behind me when and where I need to without fussing.

Better than I was expecting.

For the price I was expecting this to be super low quality, I was pleasantly surprised when I took it out of the box though. Optically its clear without any kind of distortion while having a decent field of view. I'm using them with motorcycle gloves that have a hard raised knuckle so the angle of the mirror is perfect to see behind me.

This one was cheaper in price than another one listed on amazon for a few dollars more. They are exactly the same and both made by the same manufacturer, the only difference is one comes in a box while the other comes in a blister pack. So I left the same review on the other item.

Rotate It 90 Degrees: Here's how:
by Frumious (4 out of 5 stars)

I got this ingenious idea from reviewer DSP who, like others, thought you might see more to the side if the mirror was rotated 90 degrees. You do! So how to do it? First, remove the elastic band. Then, using a sharp box cutter (an Exacto knife might be better) cut slots perpendicular to those already there (see photo). The back is soft plastic so this is pretty easy - but be careful not to cut the mirror (or yourself). Then re-thread the elastic using an unfolded paperclip to catch and pull the end up through the slot. VOILA! Takes about 15 minutes. Wear it on either hand with the thick part of the black base toward you and the thin part facing away from you - or buy a second one and wear one on each hand. I use my mirror for snowmobiling, wearing it over heavy gloves. Ride on safely!

I finally have eyes in the back of my head, kind of.

I mean, I don't really LOVE it, but it's pretty cool. Five stars because it is exactly as described and fits well.

The attached photo shows my daughter and her horse behind me. I got it to use while both bike riding and horse back riding. It allows me to check on the kids without constantly having to turn around. This is also handy when on my horse to see if a quiet hiker or cyclist is catching up. Many people don't realize it's actually good for the horses to hear you and try to approach without too much noise to be polite.

The curved mirror lets you see a decent amount behind you. The view is actually better than in the photo, as I had my arm raised up to take the picture and the phone is also visible.

Difficult to view behind me at a glance.
by Ryan (2 out of 5 stars)

If I rest my hand in a specific way I can see behind me through my body and arm, but that is less than ideal. I can move my hand out to get a better view but that is less than desirable when I am on the road and I just want a quick view to see if any cars are behind me. I don't regret that purchase for the price, I still keep it in my bike bag, but I haven't used it since I got proper mirrors.

I tried this on the advice of a friend and it works great! I'd say I might even like it better ...

I use this for snowmobiling. My sled used to have mounted mirrors, so I got used to being able to see behind me. When I got a new sled, one without mirrors, I needed to find a new option. I tried this on the advice of a friend and it works great! I'd say I might even like it better than the mounted mirrors I had before. I can put my arm up while I'm riding, aim it in any direction I wish, and there's a lot less vibration than with a mounted mirror, so I see better. I just leave it attached to the sleeve of my coat so it's always with me.

Top of hand

Placing it on top of your hand, is the best place that I found for it. It is not a good stationary mirror you're going to have to take your hands off of the bar. To look behind. But keep in mind always have a good stationary mirror. The best stationary mirror in my opinion, are the ones that hooked to your helmet or onto your eyeglasses or shades.

Perfect for snowmobilers

I love these mirrors. I am a snowmobiler. When I snowmobile with a group I am always trying to make sure the person behind me is still there. It is difficult and sometimes dangerous to turn my head around to take a quick glance. I place this mirror on the back of my hand as we are riding down the trail all I have to do is raise my hand and look for headlights and I know the person/rider is still behind me and not stuck somewhere.

Works well for the money!
by Potato (4 out of 5 stars)

This works way better than handle bar mounted mirrors. Plastic and durable. My only complaint is that the strap was a bit small for my larger size hand. Fixed this by sewing on a longer piece of velcro. Of course I am wearing bike gloves which adds to the bulkiness of my already big hand.

I like being able to see the cars creeping up on me and this mirror does that well.

Great for snowmobilers!
by ncolson (5 out of 5 stars)

I purchased two, one for each of the snowmobiling men in my life. They loved them! I am told it is so much easier using the hand mirror than trying to turn around when riding. Easy to put on and take off and does not get in the way of anything. Great price too! Have not had any issues with lenses fogging or icing.

Great for snowmobiling or biking
by Yooper62 (4 out of 5 stars)

Just what I was looking for. I use this snowmobiling in winter and on bicycle in the summer. Of course it isn't as good as a stationary mirror, but you can quickly raise your hand and look behind you to see if somebody is coming up behind you. Good value. Fits over my snowmobile gloves, or on bare hands, but the latter isn't that comfortable. I use bike gloves and it works better with them.
