Awesome Casio watch. Great retro look and all the function works wellby Alex Y. Yoon,Top Contributor: Running (5 out of 5 stars)

The seller was from Japan but when I read reviews, it will take about two weeks for me to receive it. This was a great buy. I was looking for a retro and very accurate and functional Casio watch and this was it. Normally retro Casio is small sized but this was a good size for my 7.25 inches wrist and the bracelet fitted me very comfortably.
A great watch.
... version of this watch about 10 years ago and loved it. However

I had owned the previous version of this watch about 10 years ago and loved it. However, the sites where the watchband attaches to the watch itself are plastic, and they finally gave out. After doing a lot of research, I decided to get what is essentially the same watch.
I'm happy to say that Casio didn't mess with success. The face is easy to read. The buttons to set the alarm, etc. seem even easier to use. The backlight seems a bit brighter.
My expansion band (I don't like the clasp-type bands) now stays attached. My 5-star rating assumes that I will get another 10 years+ before the plastic gives out.
A sentence about the manual. As I verified by calling Casio USA, this watch is made for sale in Japan. The manual is in microscopic type and only in Japanese. However, the Casio web site has a full-size, easy-to-read version in English. I downloaded it, and found it easy to follow.
The one difference between this watch and its predecessor is that this one picks up time-setting signals from more locations, so when I'm traveling, I expect it to keep perfect time. (NOTE: I notice they no longer refer to this as an atomic clock, which it never was. The National Institute of Standards and Technology broadcasts the correct time from a few stations around the world. This watch (and other devices like it) receive that signal and update the time on your wrist. I had read that the position of the watch affects its sensitivity to these updates. I never had a problem with my former Casio Waveceptor. I'd put it on my dresser, and in the morning the icon would be visible, indicating that it had synched. When this one arrived, I put it next to my old watch. Nothing happened on the first day or two, but since then they both synch perfectly. I'm off to Europe next month, and I expect that the watch will synch there as expected.
Review is for Casio Support that I received and not about the watch

I want to make sure that the two stars rating is for Casio Support's response that I received when I went to Casio website to ask them a question on battery replacement. I wanted to know what model battery the watch uses. I read the other people comments and I found two different answer on the battery (CR1620 and CR2025). I just wanted to know the correct battery to use on the watch. The answer that I received from Casio Support was to contact and send the watch to their authorized technician to work on my watch.
I like the watch and would give it a 5 stars rating. It is nice and beautiful watch for the price that I paid. The instructions that came with the watch was not in english. I went to the Casio website and download the instructions. I went to YouTube to find out how to adjust the band on the watch. After watching the video, it was simple and easy to adjust the band. When the time come to replace the watch battery, I plan to do it myself. The reason that I bought this watch. It wasn't expensive and If I should scratch or damage the watch, no big deal. Watching YouTube on how to replace the battery, it is not that difficult to do. I couldn't find any information what battery the watch uses. This is the reason I gave two stars rating for Casio Support and their website.
ALWAYS ACCURATE

This is a fabulous watch. It receives the radio signal from WWVB in Colorado every night at midnight and never has any observable error. If you value time accurate to better than 1/10 second, you will be very pleased. The manual is complicated so be sure and read it to understand how to operate the many functions. The band is tricky to adjust and instructions are NOT provided. If you want the watch quickly, you can pay a few dollars more and find it available with Prime 2 day delivery from several good suppliers. This watch looks nice and fits well. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Great Watch, Large Time Digits

I read all of the reviews on this watch and much of the criticism was either wrong of petty. The watch band IS adjustable and very nice; it's worth the increased price, not having to periodically replace the plastic band. The enclosed instructions were in Japanese but an English version is readily available on the internet. The time is larger than most other watches and very readable. I live over 600 miles from Fort Collins, over some high Rocky Mountains, but, following the instructions, the watch recalibrates every night. All of the functions work perfectly. I would recommend this watch to anyone.
Good watch

Just received watch. It is as advertised. It keeps perfect time after atomic synchronization so I don't understand the prior reviewer's gripe about being a minute late. It can also be programmed for DST unlike what the other reviewer said. Its a good looking watch with large numerals showing 7 data points simultaneously
I have only 2 criticisms. First, the enclosed user booklet was only in Japanese so I had to download it in English from the Casio website. Secondly at 1.25 cm case thickness it tends to slightly hinder my shirtsleeve from sliding on and off over it. But its definitely not like those other Casio watches built thick as bricks.
If it were a little slimmer I would give it 5 stars.
After using it for several weeks the issue of watch case thickness did not seem to matter so that I can now give it 4 stars.
It did sync finally, but materials are low quality

It would probably be redundant nowadays to have an atomic watch, as almost all contemporary devices are connected and thus all maintain accurate time. I started looking into such a watch as a possible way of having an accurate independent time keeping device. It took almost a month for it to arrive from Japan and there was no tracking information (and thus no notification either when it was actually delivered). I noticed that the last sync had happened many months ago and that there were about 15 secs difference with the exact atomic time. I tried several different positions in the household (even outside while having a full signal indicator) and nothing made it sync. So, I just kind of quit trying. Then, one day (a few weeks later) I noticed by chance that it had somehow synced on its own (at 2:03 a.m.). I compared the time to a professional atomic clock and it is actually very accurate. However, its materials are of quite weak quality. The buckle and bracelet started baring scratch marks from the very first week (with only normal contact with desk/surfaces). Moreover, the watch's plastic face also obtained a substantial scratch. I do not expect this watch to maintain a clean appearance over time. It will probably end up in a drawer to be used as an exact time reference for other watches. I do not see the point of such a watch if it does not sync regularly. Even if one is a frequent traveler, the fact that the watch does not sync regularly beats the whole purpose of having an atomic watch.
Great Casio Watch

Placed order for this watch on September 20, 2017. It arrived at my home in Texas on October 7, 2017. Shipping time was reasonable considering it shipped from Japan. The watch itself is great. All documentations that came with the watch was written in non-English language. This purchase was actually to replace an identical watch I purchased from a retail store here in the U.S. several years ago, so I still had my original English owner's manual. Plus, as a previous and current owner of this watch, I already knew how to work it. The watch is very durable and can take a beaten. Watch band links are removable to adjust for wrist size.
Acceptable Replacement for Older Model Wave Cepor
by AZNorb (4 out of 5 stars)

Purchased as a replacement for an older model Wave Ceptor. Although it is a little larger than the older model, I accept this change. The older model had a built in charging mechanism and this one appears not to have that feature. Removing links in the band to size the watch to my wrist proved to be quite a challenge as the link connections were hard to remove. It sure looked a lot easier on one the films I viewed online to learn how to remove a link. I already knew the "how to" booklet that came with the watch would be in Japanese so I was prepared to download an English version. I anticipate getting many years of use out of this watch as I did with the older model. The only difference will be replacing the battery every few years. The older watch's battery was still going strong after 8 years.
Been a very reliable watch

I bought the same model of this watch about 15 years ago , it's had about 3 batteries in it in that amount of time . still gets the signal from atomic clock in Colorado every night . Since it is showing signs now of case wear , due to me , & I was thinking it couldn't last forever , I looked around at other watches and the new stuff weren't coming close to my old watch in features compared to price , & accuracy ! So I looked around and found this exact same one by Casio . I now have 2 of the same model watch . The new , pristine one in reserve as the old one , I still use daily , is still is going strong !
