Good non-standard art but still easy to readby Elise Faustino (5 out of 5 stars)

I collect card decks with unique art (preferably different for each card or suite) & have found that if you actually use them for play many people have trouble reading them because the colors are too different, the font too small or too stylized. This deck is just about perfect in that it is still recognizable to regular card players but distinct enough to warrant a closer look at the art. The gray background is a nice subtle change from the standard white & easier to read than some of the black background decks I have.

I saw these and picked them up for the novelty designs on the face cards. Pretty fun set of cards. next time we play poker I may need to bring them out along with some crazy lighting just for the el of it.

I bought this deck along with two others, the Bicycle Guardian deck and the Bicycle Black Shadow Master Ellusionist deck.
All three decks are cool, and as far as I could tell, the same in terms of the quality of cards and the smooth air cushion finish on the cards.
I was the most excited to get the Black Ellusionist deck, but was surprised at how much I like the Tragic Royalty deck! The Tragic deck has a really cool color scheme (the grey instead of white on the cards is sweet), and the faces of all of the royalty are different. For example, each King of the four suits is different than the other Kings. The King of Hearts is my personal favorite. The Jacks and Queens are also unique, depending on the suit.
THe gray color of the cards is awesome, and even the details of the suit symbols on the ace through ten cards are even a cool style for each suit, it reminds me of the Nightmare Before Christmas style.
Basically, this deck is AWESOME! A lot more than I expected, and is a really great deal. It is really unique and has a unique style. I like it much more than the other two decks I purchased, and almost want to buy another deck!
Very nice deck, glow under black light is a plus.

Tragic Royalty's take on the classic deck is reminiscent of Tim Burton drawings. Deck includes two Joker cards, a trick card and a promo/info card. I enjoy that the blank space is gray instead of 5he traditional white and the back design is black and red on gray. The court cards have a black and white reverse design, akin to having a yin yang motif as part of the background.
Interesting deck of cards

They appear as expected. I didn't realize they were designed for a black light performance though. Excited now to get a mini portable to use in a performance. They are a bit slicker than typical bicycle cards and are quite stinky. I'll be grabbing a performance pad and spreading the deck out to let them sit in the garage for awhile. I'm sure the smell is just due to the special ink for the black light.
In normal light they are true to what they are supposed to be. They are a bland grey that looks like the cards crawled up in a corner and died. Overall happy with purchase. Little too slick to do any complex flourishes, but will be great under black light I expect. Neat deck for sure...
the grey color is wearing off

After just a few days of light card play the grey color is wearing off the corners and edges.
The cards are made with white card stock and not grey card stock so the grey color is wearing away from light use across 3 days - i don't even think the cards will last a month.
Buyer Beware! Only HALF the cards will glow in black light!

The Diamonds and Hearts glow red in black light. Cool. They include one card that is double sided, one glows red the other green. (Its white in non black light) The Spades and Clubs are BLACK and are very hard to see as they do not glow! Why couldn't they make the Spades and Clubs glow green, like the double sided card????

Personally I like them a lot, the designs are really cool. Bicycle cards are the most durable, I wouldn't order anything else. The only issue with this deck that I did not pay attention to when I ordered is that the face of the cards is grey. I had a hold em card game and some of the players were having trouble with the cards from across the table against the grey background. No problem if you are playing anything where your cards are in your hand. I wish I had a black light, I bet they look really cool under that !
Great Deck of cards for collectors!

I am writing card reviews based on two separate things. For Amazon's purposes I will give a deck five stars if it is functional and is a good playing deck. Just about any bicycle 808 DAC is going to qualify for this unless there is something really strange going on. However I also have added my own rating system based on 10 decks of cards. Basically it's the standard 1 to 10 scale. My ratings are based on things like the beauty of the cards, the extra features that they may or may not have, the extra cards they may or may not have, and special coatings and things like that.
This deck gets a solid 8 decks out of 10. ***UPDATE: I am changing this to 9/10 after playing around with a black light. *** The glow feature of this deck is really a "golly wow" thing and adds another point to the deck's value. This deck has beautiful designs and something that also adds to the value is that even the standard cards have custom pips making them look more unique and original. Another plus for this design is that even though they have used a gray card and some different colors on the court cards, they are still very readable and usable for play. Sometimes when a card deck is customize too much, it becomes unusable for play. These cards are still very usable day in and day out.
As far as quality Enfield, they are standard bicycle 808 cards. Which is to say they are very good. There is nothing special about the box or tuck. One other neat feature is that they claim these cards glow under black light. I have not tested this, and do not think it will be of much use during regular gameplay. However it is an extra feature that is kind of neat. Overall for the price these are an outstanding set of cards and the only cards that really stand out as being better are some of the really custom cards that come from places like kick starter. You will likely pay a good deal more for those though.
This deck comes with two jokers and to add cards. The aces spades is very nice. There are no blank cards or gaff cards.

Cards are great! They look awesome. I love the detail put into the face cards AND always nice when it includes a cut card, though I prefer the cut card to be slightly thicker to ensure finding it in the washed cards. Overall perfect and the black light effect is awesome!
