A good start

I agree with other reviews that this is not all you need to survive comfortably, however it is a good start. Comes with a lot of cool stuff. We will be adding life straws and granola bars and trail mix. Also added a deck of cards. Peanut butter is a great idea too. Lots of protein and unopened, pb will last next to forever. Anyway, don't expect perfection.

Outdated cell phone charger!

September 7, 2017

I would have given it a 4 -5 star BUT the cell phone charger is for an iPhone 4!! The description did not say this. Who has an iPhone 4 anymore? Does anyone know what kind of adapter I could purchase to make this charger work?

Product not as advertised!

This product is not as advertised! I didn't even open the backpack because mine showed up as camouflage instead of bright red. In an emergency with potentially low light, why would I want my key to survival be hard to find?!? I am returning it.

There's no way theres enough food/water for 4 to survive 3 days!
by Yonger (1 out of 5 stars)

There is barely enough food and water for one person to survive a day! This is described a a 3 day survival pack for four people. WRONG! Don't be mislead!

Zipper broke the second time the bag was opened. Yikes.

Purchased this in 2014. Opened it today to confirm expiration dates on perishable items. Zipper pull snapped off in my hand, making the bag nearly useless to transport in an emergency. This is only the second time it has ever been opened - once upon purchase to inspect the contents and add some emergency cash.

It's ok. Mine arrived all wet as 2 of the 4 water containers had leaked due to faulty closures (not their fault) ... but they should have put aluminum cans instead (pouches can puncture due to their sharp corners and water in a milk box, really? for long shelf life?). Good-enough to grab on the go, but this is for 1 person/ 4 days or 4 people/1 day ... no more! I needed to create 20 emergency kits for my business employees and guests ... decided to make my own instead. Open it, and see if it fits your needs. And make sure all is dry inside!!!

Water Container Leaked Everywhere
by Mike Sandridge (2 out of 5 stars)

Product arrived on time. However, one of the 1 liter boxes of water burst at some point and soaked the contents of the kit, as well as the backpack itself. Most of these items are wrapped and sealed in their own individual packaging, so I don't think there will be any permanent damage after I dry them out in front of a fan. However, the radio/emergency charging/flashlight unit was soaked as well. Water even got inside the clamshell packaging (see photo). At first glance, it apears that the unit may work. I will cross my fingers.

This item was purchased as a gift, and I am disapointed to be giving the kit with visable signs of water damage even after I dry out the items.

Will not last for 3 days for 4 people.
by BIG DOG (1 out of 5 stars)

I received the package and opened it up. very nice setup, but if you read about the food consumption rate it states 3 bars per day for land use and 2 bars per day for marine. well if your on land only 2 days, probably because you move around more. the other problem is that there are 4 1 liter containers in the kit. the packaging state 1 liter per person per day, more in hot climate. well you can do the math. there is no way this will last based on the usage information on the package.

it gets better, called the company and asked them why the kit says 3 days, when the consumption rate will deplete the resources in 1 day. the answer was do not go by the packaging it is wrong and we feel that there is enough in there. the person I talked to asked the president of the company and was told that they only put the kits together, they are not responsible for what they say. I was suggested that I return the product if I was unsatisfied as they were noting going to do anything about it.

I would never buy this from this company and carefully check your emergency supplies that they are sufficient enough to support what is required. I feel the company threw stuff in the package and said hey people will but this and not check. I am very saddened by the response from the company.

by the way I bought the one for 2 dogs and am returning that also.

advertised as 5-year shelf life, expires in 4 years?!? Disappointed!
by Luc (2 out of 5 stars)

I received the box and one of the water boxes was busted open with water running through the box.

Also, they advertise their products having 5-year shelf life. I bought the kit in July 2019, and the products have an expiration date of 6/2023...that's 4 years.

Quite disappointed in my experience with their product so far.

Good but still needs work

I haven't had to use his yet but the bag is not strong at all it also pretty heavy if you have to truck on foot, but it does come with necessary items you will need during a time of crisis. I added more items that me and my family would need in a time of crisis ( we're also avid campers ) I would suggest buying add-ons that would fit you and your family's emergency plan And a much stronger bag. But overall this bag is a good start
