Looks cool and provides plenty of lightby CocoMonstr (5 out of 5 stars)

I have this bulb in a coach style lamp on my front porch and it's perfect. It ended an ongoing disagreement between me and my dad because he kept switching the bulb in that lamp with a flickering bulb because it looked cooler. I couldn't argue with that, but I kept switching it back to a regular bulb because those flickering ones may look cool but they don't provide diddly squat in the way of actual light and I was getting tired of having to pull out my cell phone to use as a flashlight so I could see to unlock the damn door. Anyhoo, I was buying lights for Halloween and saw this and decided to give it a try. It's the best of both worlds; attractive & functional. This bulb is on for at least a few hours every night for about 9 months now and it still hasn't burnt out.
UPDATE 1/26/2017: I'm definitely impressed with how long this lightbulb lasts. I've been using it in the light on my front porch for a couple of years - all night, every night - and it's still working perfectly. Two thumbs up for longevity
Teardrop bulbs

I have been looking for a less pricey version of teardrop bulbs that some upscale home improvement stores sell. Yes these are a nice teardrop shapes and they emit a soft light and are nor blinding, perfect for fixtures where the bulbs are exposed. However, the amber light produced by these bulbs is more appropriate for either a retro look or a trendy industrial look. I am aiming for a cozy casual look and have golden yellow and white walls; the amber light is jarring in my space. I wish Bulbrite would offer these bulbs in clear glass that does not emit an amber glow.
Update: After about a month of use, I noticed today that of the two bulbs I got, one has a distinctly amber glass and the other has an almost clear glass with just a hint of amber. While buying, I would have chosen clear/almost clear glass if I were given an option, but I didn't notice any such option. Now I do want to buy these bulbs in clear glass, but how I do I make a selection? Or is the color of the glass random, like in hand-crafted objects ?
Beautiful and longlasting

Came to write this review when one finally burned out FIVE years later! Almost to the date. We use these in some vintage look pendant globe fixtures in our kitchen. A large fixture over island and also over dining table. Both get many hours use daily. 14 bulbs total. This is the first to burn out! They are lovely and classic looking while still emitting a nice soft (non LED yay!) light.
Love it more than expected!

Great vanity lightbulbs for our use.
If this is the only light in your bathroom this is NOT the choice for you. It's not super light exactly.
If you like us have a white very bright light then these are the perfect mirror lights. In the evening and at night the ceiling light is too bright and we only use the lights on the side of the mirror and it makes it light enough and its soft and beautiful. they give a more yellow warm light but I think it's more like a 30w output.
Husband was totally against it because he was thinking bath light = bright lights, but now when they are in he likes it even more than me I think!
For the right setting they are beautiful!
Beautiful retro bulb!

These look great and provided nice light on our sconces outside my front door. I've had these before and they lasted about 2 years for about 8hrs a day, so I've been happy with their lifespan. They're a little dimmer than I would like, so I think I'll try to find a similar bulb with a higher wattage.
Don't get 60W

I contemplated the 60W over these 40W bulbs. The dim, warm and glowing look that makes it look antique and is not harsh to look at the bare bulb really only works when I turn the dimmer down on this bulb. I don't think the 60W would work right at all and the whole point of these is to see the bulb. I would highly recommend a dimmer with these. The only reason it's a 4 and not 5 star is that I think 40W is still too bright without a dimmer.
Beautiful Bulbs

Here are some things to know about these awesome lightbulbs:
-The light is VERY orange/amber.
-The light is relatively weak, it took 3 mounted in a ceiling fixture for me to be happy with the amount of light they produced in 14x10 room.
-They look awesome.
I've not had them long enough to comment on life or durability, but I'm fully expecting them to be much shorter-lived than most bulbs. That said, they look very nice, and if you're looking to class up your lighting with some moody amber tint, these are bar-none the way to go. At $10 a pop, they aren't cheap, though.
Great Compromise Bulb

I ordered three different sizes of these bulbs to test in a new hanging fixture, 30 watt, 40 watt and 60 watt. The thirty watt bulb looks great, you can really see all the filaments. The 60 watt bulb is screaming bright and would look great on a dimmer, but on a 4 way circuit with computer remote control a dimmer is out of the question for now. The 40 watt bulb gives off good light, a little amber in hue and allows you to see the filaments even at full power. With 8 bulbs they produce plenty of light.
Great BULB!

Not sure why I see negative reviews on this light bulb. I've been using it over a kitchen sink fixture for over 4 months and it's working great (approx. 4 hrs a day), I'd buy more if/when I need this...has a great classic look!

These bulbs are so cool, I can't believe this is my first time using them. I can't find them in stores, so I'm happy I found them on Amazon and they arrived perfectly intact. They give off a completely different vibe that a standard bulb, and they are just lovely if you have a lamp that features the bulbs rather than the shade. Very happy with these.
