Great results but hard to wrap

I'm bordering on 3 - 4 stars. Reason being is I really liked the results of wraps. I used them with some salmon I bought in Seattle. Given I paid way too much for the salmon I figured I might as well go all the way and cook them in a special way. The issue I had with them is that they split along the grains of the wood. btw, I soaked them for at least the time recommended. I overcame it with an hodgepodge of extra string. In the end the salmon was spectacular so I'll swing towards 4 stars.

These are really small. I bought Cedar grilling wraps at Trader Joes and loved them. They measured 7.25 x 8". These looked the same i the photo but are about half the size and don't have the same rich cedar smell or flavor. Way to small to wrap anything but a super narrow piece of salmon. I tried using two wraps around my normal size piece of salmon and not only was it difficult but it just didn't absorb the flavor that the Trader's ones did. Unfortunately TJ's said they discontinued theirs, but I have the package and am going to see if I can buy directly from the mfgr.

We found a similar product at one of our local grocery stores - the Fire & Flavor brand endorsed by Gena Knox - and tried them to use with salmon steaks. They were easy to use and allowed us enough room to add garnishes as well as some fruits and vegetables to cook in and marinade with the salmon steaks. For some reason, our grocery store stopped carrying them and we couldn't find them again so we came to Amazon to fine them which wasn't a problem because you can find EVERYTHING on Amazon! However, while searching for them we found this brand and it seemed to be a comparable product at a little better value so we decided to give them a try. They work just as well and we get a few more sheets for a little less money so these are a great option for us. Will definitely re-purchase and would recommend to others.

Love these - we flatten some salmon, spread some cream cheese with chives and any other spices on it, roll it up in one of these, toss it on the grill and it's a really impressive looking and delicious dinner. And so easy!

These are a great product -- just wish they weren't so pricey! I bought them at a supermarket for less money in AZ but now that I live in FL I couldn't find them anywhere. They do a fantastic job of grilling fish and chicken breast without drying it out.

I soaked the papers for 45 minutes, but had several to split two or three places before I was able to tie it closed. I used them to grill salmon and they worked well; absorbed a mild cedar/smoke flavor. I will probably buy again, but may try a different brand to see if the splitting is common, or if it was just this brand.

Veneer works well, anyone wishing to cook salmon on the BQ will like these. After a water soak they are very flexible and hold their shape with wet string.
