Daisy Pink Carbine Model 1998 classic-styled BB repeater. You’ll have hours of backyard shooting fun! The Pink Carbine features a blade and ramp front sight and adjustable open rear sight. It shoots .177 caliber BBs with a maximum velocity of 350 fps. It’s recommended for ages 10 and older with adult supervision, making this gun an excellent training model.

I am revising my review. The gun is a ton of fun.

You cock the gun by pulling the lever up so the gun clicks 7 (seven) times. When we first got the gun, my daughter cocked it but apparently it didn't do the full number of clicks. The gun would not fire and when I tried to re-cock it it felt cocked i.e. the lever moved freely until it suddenly had a lot of resistance. We read the directions, and they said if the barrel is pointed straight up at the 12:00 position then you need to cock the lever until it is at the 2:00 position. Re realized we had only cocked it to 3:00, so we cocked it the rest of the way and the gun fired. This seems like a really easy mistake to make. I have only read one or two reviews from someone saying the gun didn't fire, and I wonder if they made the same mistake we made.

Childhood revisit

It's a pink Red Ryder... great plinking BB gun, just like we had as kids. Loads, cocks and fires just as I remember. The niece and nephew get their first shooting lessons with the same rifle I used... oh, so very long ago. Pink one seems to shoot a bit harder (higher FPS) than the Red Ryder I bought at the same time.
No worries about 'shooting their eyes out'... safety glasses are mandatory now... though we never knew such a thing existed in the old days.

Plink With Pink

Bought this for My Grandaughter who is 7. She did not know until the night before we went shooting that she had a pink B.B. Rifle surprise. What we do is called "plinking" where we head out to my remote mill site and fire at anything and everything that makes a noise when hit. This is why we call it "Plink with Pink". Went with a Daisy based on owning one as a child myself and the fact that she loves everything pink. The day was spent plinking and shooting at a target range of cans, bottles, tin signs, full water bottles and shaken up coke cans. Her B.B.Rifle was a hit from the start and even though it was rather long for her size, it did not deter her from have a great time. I still have my Daisy Eagle from childhood and noticed a marked difference quality from back then to now but that is how most things are made anymore anyway. For the money, this is a great first time B.B.Rifle. As already anticipated, the cocking of the rifle for her was difficult so i did all that part and all she did was aim and fire. Really wish it had a scope and a shorter model length. I would personally buy same rifle again for her. I just bought the Red Ryder for my Grandson and know he will love that as well.

Metal components needed

Simply stated the BB gun trigger stopped working after its 14th shot....just after my daughter stated "this is fun". After I checked the gun over (including the safety), I gave it a little shaking and a small piece of black plastic came out near the trigger area. I assume this is why the trigger will not fire the cocked gun. Disappointing to say the least especially when my 1976 version (that was dropped in sand and mud puddles) is still working. Daisy needs to spend a little more money and place some metal components back into the trigger mechanism.

My daughter is in love with this

My daughter is in love with this. She is four years old and this is her very first gun. The gun is a bit long for her but she is still able to shoot it on her own. She can even pump it on her own as well, although with a little struggle. We take this everywhere so that she can have some target practice! I'm glad we bought this for her because she's learning responsibility of caring for a weapon and how to properly handle one.

These are the perfect starter air rifles for my 6 and 8 year old girls. I got them each one for Christmas and they like them. Good size and weight. Still a little hard to cock for them but I have only good things to say about these Daisy BB guns. It's funny to see them learning how to aim and shoot. How better than these little guns? They fit their shoulders, and they aren't too heavy to hold out properly. Plus they are a blast to shoot for me too! My 10 year old son has a higher power single shot pellet gun but he likes these because he can cock and shoot over and over. These little classics hold a bunch of BBs. Love Daisy BB guns.

The lever is plastic

Purchased for varmints and it'll probably be just fine. But, I just got this today and only had a short time to play around with it. Right off the bat, I scratched the pink paint trying to get the zip tie off. That made me mad, but I can only really blame myself (I think.) Everything went fine, fairly smooth, no problems. Until I tried to cock it. The lever is plastic, and it didn't feel like a sturdy plastic either. I have real concerns that's the part that will break leaving me with a useless gun. I plan to be as careful as I can and am hoping that it loosens up a bit with use as it's pretty stiff and that only makes my concerns on the plastic's lifespan even bigger. Super disappointing. The rest of the gun feels strong and sturdy, real metal and wood. Just watch the paint.

Basically identical to the classic Daisy Red Ryder, except in Pink, and no "Red Ryder " engraving on the stock. Single pump only. My 10 year old daughter can just barely pump it, and she needs 2 fingers to pull the trigger, but it's a great little bb gun. Flattened a couple corrugated cardboard Amazon boxes and doubled them up for a target backing. The bb's go through the 1st, but not the 2nd box. Pretty safe for an average backyard in the burbs.

Unbelievable value

What an unbelievable value dropped right on your doorstep. I ended up ordering ones for each kid after our first evening with one. They are not tiny. There are models that look just like this style but fit a small shooter. Check the dimensions carefully if you are trying to help youth learn. I found this worked well for high school girls to learn proper form but my first grader can somehow get the job done too.

Perfect Gift for Young Marksman

Purchased pink Daisy BB carbine as a Birthday gift for my 6 year old grand daughter, she had been practicing with a well worn and older Daisy carbine that belonged to her father, it served it's purpose well as a primary learning tool for gun safety and target practice. My grand daughter became ecstatic and wanted to immediately "try it out" her new gun, which we did here on the farm. She has become an excellent marks lady with her new Daisy and will accompany her father & I to the range this coming weekend to begin learning how to operate and fire her father's .22 rifle, it is gratifying to see a young person show proper respect for firearms and become adept at using them. The pink Daisy BB carbine has become my grand daughter's favorite birthday gift...Thanx Amazon.
