Really glad I bought this because while its protecting my car

Bought this for my Audi A4 which is parked in Manhattan everyday. Haven't had a single ding on my car since buying this parking armor! For those worried about corner dings, you can adjust the parking armor to the side of the street to protect the back, and the corner of your car. Also, it's weather proof so you don't have to worry about it getting wrecked by rain/snow. Really glad I bought this because while its protecting my car, it's also giving me peace of mind- something I can't put a price on.

The only reason I give this product 4 stars (not 5) is because it's not waterproof. It is quite water resistant, so when I put it back in the trunk in the rainy wether I don't find a bathtub of water afterwards. It's fine.

The bottom line, for what this does and supposed to do, there is nothing better available. I had a Bumper Bully prior to this, and while it did an adequate job of protecting my rear bumper, it just didn't provide enough cushion for my liking.

I bought The Parking Armor for my new car (2013 BMW 328xi). My first debate was which size to get -- 42 inches or 48. I live in NYC, and the more protection the merrier. Bumpers get scratched all the time. 48 inches would have fit in the trunk. I actually chose 42, and quite happy with that. The thing is that you can shift the Parking Guard to the side, if needed, for more protection. For example, if I parallel parked on the right side of the street, I want to protect my left corner as much as possible, because when the car behind me pulls out, it's my left corner that's in danger of being touched. In situations like this, when I park, I adjust the Parking Guard by shifting it to the left, and it covers that left corner very well. 48 inches would have been a bit too bulky in the trunk for my taste.

I definitely feel much more comfortable with this product than with Bumper Bully.

Have now had this for four years

This is much better designed than my old BumperBully, on which the plastic bars regularly broke after about a year of service. But note that this product (like anything else that covers the bumper) may block your park distance control sensors, if you have them. This means that if you set it our before you have parked (or put in on before you leave the car in a commercial garage), the sensors will think you have already collided with something and will sound a continuous alarm.

Addendum 2016: Four years later, this product is still going strong, and has protected my rear bumper very well. I would not hesitate to buy another, but it has held up so well that I probably won't need to.

I did a lot of research in terms of a item that would protect the bummer of my new car from the disrespectful NY NJ drivers who feel it's ok to bump your car to get in a parking spot. I settle on Parking Armor and have not been disappointed. I've come to my car twice since i bought it and knew that the person parking behind me had to tap be in order to get in the spot, but I finally wasn't worried.

The Velcro attachment straps worked fine with my car, but it also came with a Velcro sticky in case you have a special trunk interior. It also says not to drive with it hanging, but I have a few times because some people park way to close and I needed to protection to leave the spot, and it didn't flap around on anything.

I definitely think this product is worth the cost.

Must have for parking!

If you parallel park or park in a garage with attendants you will need one of these if you want to keep your bumper in pristine condition. The bumper on my last car looked like swiss cheese after 3yrs. The other products out there are usually nothing more than a giant rubber welcome mat that will end up causing scuffs and mar your bumper. This thing is thick enough to absorb the impact from parking but the material is soft enough not cause more damage to your bumper. The velcro straps that keep the parking armor in place worked great with the carpet in my trunk, very secure. The padding on the velcro straps are a nice touch. The 42inch one was a perfect fit for my Audi A5. Fits in the trunk without any folding and covers the majority of my bumper. The 48 would've have covered the entire length of the bumper but would have a hard time fitting in the trunk without some folding. I hope it will hold up in rain and snow, haven't tested that yet.

The scratches, dents, and nicks on my last car were driving me crazy. Get this, save your bumper and your sanity!

Worth every penny of it

I bought this item to protect my rear bumper since I have to do street parking in my neighborhood. It is easy to install, easy to stow away in the trunk and it is thick enough to cushion most bump and bruises of regular city parking. I recently had to replace my bumper due to an accident, so I decided to protect the new bumper from day one so that it would not look like my old, heavily scarred, bumper. The morning after I installed the Parking Armor, I saw a muddy print on the protector that matched perfectly to the front number plate of the car behind me, obviously the car had made contact. A few pats on the cushion removed the mud, and it is as good as new. - it paid off in one evening!!

The strap that connects the pads to the interior of the trunk has metal inlay, so it prevents people from cutting it and stealing it. Even though the materials is not 100% water proof, I have left the Parking Armor in the rain and in the recent heavy snow. It dried pretty fast, even inside the trunk. BTW, I drive a 2003 Honda Civic. The armor fits nicely.

I think if you have a new bumper, and you park in crowded city streets, this is an investment that's worth every penny.

Good one

Good one, but one side is not sticking so good on the car floor. Falling at one side before even I close the trunk, should hold it a while before closing. Other than that, its provide great armor support

Great Investment

I just got a new car and wanted a way to protect my bumper from the dings and scratches that plagued my previous car after years of parallel parking in NY. I had seen these "bumper badgers" and thought that they were ok for scratches but limited in size and didn't look too capable of protecting from bumps and dings. I saw this product on Amazon - for only 10 dollars more - and I took a chance and ordered it.

I am extremely satisfied with this bumper guard. I have an 09 TSX and it fits my bumper perfectly. It has two long straps with velcro that you can stick to your car, or just directly velcro to your carpet - which is what I do. The foam guard folds the long way and stores easily in my trunk when not in use. I put my work bag in the trunk when I drive and take it out when I park, so taking out and replacing the bumper cover is a 10 second operation each time.

As the description says, it's not completely waterproof and I have already gone through some heavy rains where it soaked in the water a bit. After a couple of hours out in the sun, it dried out and there's no smell - which is great. I was a little worried that it would start to stink after getting wet.

Some cool things about this bumper protector:

It has steel wires going through the straps so you don't have to worry about someone using a knife or scissor and stealing it.

Also, the straps are long and they attach a couple feet into the trunk so it is easy to reposition. That way when I park with the curb on my right, I can shift it to the left so that it protects my bumper on the side that cars will be pulling into.

Overall, a great product and if you want something to protect your new car's bumper I would very much recommend this product, especially over the rubber-mat-like bumper protectors.

Should've been designed to be totally waterproof
by RAH (4 out of 5 stars)

The space covered by this bumper protector is great and the extra padding it features instills confidence in me as I know my vehicle's bumper will be well guarded. However, it is an item that should have been designed to be totally waterproof being how it is going to remain on the outside of your vehicle overnight when sprinkles are most likely to occur.

The steel line in the straps themselves assures you that this bumper protector will stay on your car's bumper no matter if someone tries to cut it off to try to steal it. This is a plus for me as I live in an area where a lot of envious people reside. It is a decent product overall.

I hope the manufacturer releases a waterproof version of it. Also, extra "wrap around" side protection for the sides of the rear bumper would help a lot also.
