A lot of heat for such a small package!
by Bobs stuff (5 out of 5 stars)

This unit is small, but heats our 18x20 family room to supplement the room not having a radiator. Assembly instructions were slightly difficult, but I logged into the manufacturer website and they were more clear. I'll update the review once it gets colder and we use it more. So far for the 2 fires we've had have been pretty good at "throwing out" heat. It does burn through wood quickly, but I figure I still have to learn the damper/draft settings to make it more efficient. Overall, I'm satisfied with it. Nice little unit for the $$$.

Do yourself a favor and make sure to burn off the "paint cure" outside before lighting it in the building. I did and while it was outside, the smell was pretty bad. After 3 fires outside, the smell dissipated. My only complaint is I wish the door had glass in it to see the fire and monitor the burning.

UPDATE1/14/16: We have had this going since Oct, and there are no changes. Yes, it does "eat" a lot of wood, but once it gets hot, it keeps the room toasty! I haven't experienced it smoking out into the room at all. The main picture must be an older design, this unit DOES NOT have the removable round lid on the top. I have been researching this unit, and I will add a gasket to the door. My only real complaint is the handle. It's a 2 piece design and it does come off at times. Overall, I would recommend this for a small room (ours is 14x20) or garage or even possibly an open basement. If you're looking for something to heat an entire house, go with a bigger unit.

Disappointing
by Andrew David Cohen (1 out of 5 stars)

I have this stove in a 200 sq ft insulated front porch with double pane windows. Candidly, it is very disappointing in the amount of heat it puts out, for the large amount of wood it burns. Despite adjusting the draft many times, all the heat goes up the chimney. I had anticipated this stove to give out a lot of heat but the top surface almost remains cool enough to touch despite it having a roaring fire inside. I cheaped out on this one, as soon as I can afford it I will get something decent with better dampers and better fitting panels. Folks - don't be fooled by the cheap cost of entry, it will cost you in the long run.

The draft on this is very good, I was pleasantly surprised

Let's face it, this is a cheap little stove. That being said, it has heated our 360 sq ft house as well as can be expected at this price. It does not hold heat through the night so be prepared to bundle up or reload every few hours if the temperatures get below freezing. The draft on this is very good, I was pleasantly surprised. We have only used it for one season so far and the seal will need to be replaced soon, it is cracking and the stove is no longer black but kinda ugly and gray. This was not due to over firing as we used a stove pipe thermometer at all times because it is very easy to over heat this little stove. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap stove to heat a small space, consider this one.
