These are garbage. The bit, correctly used, broke on first use.

Philips and flathead bits stripped with ease
by Tech Test Pilot (1 out of 5 stars)

I've made use of 8 of the security bits. Didn't expect any of those to fail by stripping. They didn't. One day I forgot my flathead and phillips head tips for a job. I used the supplied ones in this set. Unfortunately the phillips busted the first try using low hand torque. That surprised the heck out of me. Same happened to the flathead. These Neiko aren't premium. The nice side is they are long enough to reach areas of electrical cabinets where I work. But certainly not worth the premium price at all. Ugh.

First time used....bit chipped from a screw in an LCD TV. Glad I got 31 more!!

Sorry but they are a miss for me! My first bit was chewed up taking out a screw from a standard LCD TV. How does a hardened steel bit get chewed by a very sub par screw? I haven't used another yet since I only purchased for limited use. I wonder if I use them for anything other then a piece of soft balsa wood if they would break off?? I also wish they were magnetized so a deep screw could be removed easier. Got many more I can use andc maybe I just got a bad one but so far..NOT IMPRESSED.

Cheap, bit boke first day using it

I was using a star bit to put an office chair together. Everything was going fine for the first couple hours and I was very happy with my purchase. Then the bit broke putting a screw into a chair, it didnt even get the screen all the way in so there wasn't much tension on it. It's just a cheaply made product that I will be returning. Don't waste your money just get a better set.

Nice set of bits for the money

Already had a set of security bits, but they are much shorter. Given the type of devices you take apart, many have long recessed openings requiring a much long bit. These bits work great. I especially like that some of the smaller bits have a more slender shaft than the others which help in accessing the screw head when recessed. I uploaded some customer images to provide more detail on exactly what you're getting.

The Quality Far Exceeds The Price

I work as a professional auto mechanic. I am an ASE Master Tech with advanced certification. I am always purchasing tools and where I can I try not to purchase Snap-on or other name brand just to save some money. When I purchased this set it was mainly just so I could have one bit a T-40 long bit to use when removing a Volvo thermostat housing. With this long bit it would save me a lot of work. So to be honest I didn't want to pay $25 for a set when all I wanted was one bit. But I also know that working as a mechanic the other bits will come in handy.
Well I put the bits threw the real test of hard work and they passed. The first thing that I notice when I received the bits was the weight. They actually weigh a lot. But I know from experience that just because metal weighs a lot doesn't necessarily make it strong. This is where tensile strength comes in. If a metal is made with minimal tensile, then the metal will twist and eventually break. If the tensile strength is too strong then the metal will suffer fatigue and break. I am very happy to say that these bits did not twist or even break when torque to proper foot pounds. I was so happy and to tell the truth a bit surprised. I had assumed, wrongly, because of the weight that they would break.
I am so happy that I purchased this bit set that I proudly display it on top of my Snap-on tool box and let every mechanic know what a great buy they are. This is one of those times when I find a tool that is less expensive then Snap-on or other name brand professional but still made to a high degree that they can be used by professionals. Whether you are a professional mechanic or a backyard mechanic I would recommend this set of bits. The quality far exceeds the price.

Working well so far

I bought this kit for the purpose of reaching hard to reach screws in deep-welled accesses on certain appliances. Now I won't have to damage the plastic housings trying to reach these screws any longer. I know it helps when people describe what they were using the tool for, so here goes... I was repairing a base for a Ninja mixer, Model BL770 base. It quit working suddenly (loose connection). It has security screws. The 6-point with the hole in the middle. This kit has it. I used it. I fixed my BL770 base with electronics repair. I reassembled it. Tested. Runs better than factory. This kit not only helped with this repair, but other repairs neglected because I didn't have these extended bits. I really like tools and I really like these. I would recommend getting a set if you need it. It may be the difference between an inexpensive repair or a wallet busting replacement item, if you're handy.

Good quality, excellent assortment, great value.

Many products have housings closed with tamper resistant "security" fasteners that are recessed beyond the reach of standard length bits. Not only are these bit nicely formed hard tool steel, but they easily reached the screws I was trying to remove. I suspect that these customer resistant fasteners are used in order to reduce the possible manufacturers' liability--in my case possible electrocution from the high voltage of an electrostatic air filter. I knew enough to wear insulating gloves and discharge the supply capacitors before servicing the unit, so the $20 expense for even a single use easily paid for itself to avoid the $100+ replacement cost.

The holder is flimsy, but does the job.

Is it my imagination or are items made in Taiwan generally of better quality than those main in Mainland China?
