Beistle 1-Pack Plush Light-Up Christmas Turkey Hat (20742)

Product Description

Made of a soft plush material with little Santa hats on each one of the turkey legs. There are real multi-color lights surrounding the plush hat. Requires 2 AA batteries which are not included. Once the batteries are in the canister and the switch is turned on the lights will light up. Measures inside diameter of 7 inches. The highest turkey leg on the turkey hat measures 12 inches tall.

One major complaint i have with this hat is that it is a bit flimsy around the battery compartment area... It would be better if you strengthened the velcro so that it doesn't rip the stitches when you get that compartment open... I wouldn't get this again...but I'm getting more donations at my Salvation Army kettle when i wear it than when I'm not... They keep asking about the hat...

Sure...it's a clunker if you have to move around...but ideal if you have to don't have to move around so much...

UPDATE

This one seemed to be too big for my head and kept falling off with the slightest head wind...but I found a way to use it anyway... It STILL needs to have stronger stitching in that battery compartment area to keep the velcro from pulling the stitches apart...

The hat came in the mail looking awesome. It requires two AA batteries. Once I had it all together it looked great! My daughter thinks I'm ridiculous with it on. I plan on picking her up at the high school today with it on.

We were laughing at it even before it came out of the bag! This one's a funny one. I've seen cheaper versions at target that just didn't look as good as this one. The plush material is thick enough to create subtle variations of shine on the hat, making it look even more realistic (not that it looks realistic at all, but it makes it look CLOSER to the real thing). The lights don't add too much - they just come on and stay on, but the little Santa hats on the feet are what makes it. Comfy fit and FUN! You'll be sure to get lots of double-takes, and can wear it from before thanksgiving right through the holiday season. You might want to add extra season-ing. :)

Looks Cool, Poorly Built

This hat looks cool, but it was a large problem out of the box. This hat looked cool as soon as I took it out of the box. I was going to wear it for work overnight from Thanksgiving into Black Friday. When I took it out of the box, I didn't notice anything immediately wrong with it, however, when I went to use it a few hours before work, I ran into issues. First off, in the battery compartment, the bottom contacts were missing, so there was no spring to push the battery on the right forward, and there was no metal contact to complete the circuit between the two batteries. I fixed this myself with some duck tape and a paper clip, but I wouldn't expect someone (like my wife) to do the same. Next, two of the bulbs were not functioning properly. One of them was completely burnt out, and the other was very dimly lit. The one that was dimly lit was significantly warmer than any other bulb on the hat, so much so that it melted the glue that was holding it to the hat, and it vaguely smelt like it was burning while powered on. While it looks cool, I would not recommend this to someone else.

I recently wore this to work for crazy hat day. It was surprisingly comfortable and I was able to wear if for an eight hour day while treating patients without any incidents. I was worried that having a battery pack on my head would get warm after a while, but I didn't notice anything unusual while wearing it. It was almost exactly as pictured, except for a little more crossing of the drumsticks at the top because of how it was packaged. Overall, I got nothing but laughs and compliments on my choice of hat and have absolutely no idea how I'm going to top this next time around!

The hat is so awesome! There is also a plain turkey version available on Amazon. I got the Christmas version for my husband as a Christmas gift. Unfortunately, he only had the chance to wear it a few times but it looks awesome and everyone loved it. It is well made and the lights look very cool (they are LED), but I wouldn't consider it a toy. There is a place to put in batteries on the outside of the hat and it has a switch to turn the lights on or off. Its hidden very well though, in the seam of the hat. The item arrived on time too. I had ordered it as a very last minute gift for Christmas (like 2 days before Christmas Eve) and there was a high chance it wouldn't make it on time but the seller got it to me in time for Chrismas! Awesome hat, great seller, great experience!

This turkey Hat is HILARIOUSLY FUNNY!!! My husband put it on and I almost peed my pants laughing at him. It's very plush and I was co evened it wouldn't stand upright on his head but it was perfect. The control for the lights was located in a a small pocket inside the hat and was very light weight. It was a perfect addition to our ugly Christmas Party

This was purchased to wear for a neighborhood Turkey Trot that I organized. It was really cute and everyone loved the lights. And it was helpful in keeping me warm while setting up and tearing down and greeting people. The only problem with it was that it was way too big on my and no way to really adjust it to keep it on. I had to take it off for the run so unless you have a bigger head or just plan on staying fairly stationary, you might not be able to use this.

The distributer was awesome but the product is crap. The 1st one I received did not work and they sent me a new one right away and this one did not work either. Some of the lights did not light up and the battery holder pocket was torn. What can you expect, cheap stuff from China.

Cute Hat... Always Gets Borrowed by Others!

This is our second Turkey Hat. Son wears it every year to march in the band in our local Christmas parade. Inevitably, someone will see it and ask to borrow it, hence, the "second" purchase. Uses regular AA batteries and the lights are bright. Fits an average sized adult head and the drumsticks stand up straight and tall. Really a cute hat.
