Product Description

If you've ever heard a word, a song pops into your head, and you spontaneously burst into a tune, then this is the perfect game for you or anyone who has a song for everything!

For example: Can you think of a lyric with the word "mountain" in it? Blurt it out then...you only have 15 seconds! Don't worry about your voice; shout it if you must, because time is ticking! The first to sing at least a 5-word portion of lyrics containing "mountain", rolls dice and advances on the board. When you land on certain spaces, you draw a card and complete the crazy challenge!

The object is to stump the other players from singing a song with your word in it, but if you do, you'd better be able to back it up with a song of your own, or else you're penalized! The first player to reach "finish" wins the game!

If you're looking for a hilarious game to entertain your family and friends, then it's time to throw a Spontuneous Party! It's fun, fast paced, full of laughs and a perfect game to spice up your next get-together!

Spontuneous is the only music game that crosses all genres and all ages. Even Grandma & Grandpa can play with grandchildren, teens, college students and their own kids as well. It sparks conversation and memories of music; especially where one first heard a song.

This is one of the best board games for family game night and parties with friends (heck, read the reviews below) Some even make it into an adult drinking game. Either way, you will be entertained for hours and will surely be an encore for more!

It's perfect for small or large groups, for children, teenagers, adults and for families! There's no need for a microphone, but the spontaneous improvisation will have you in hysterics; singing and dancing the night away!

Award winning - Music Teacher Approved, Mom's Choice Gold, Dr. Toy's Best Vacation Product, Parent Tested Parent Approved. The National Parenting Center Seal of Approval, Mom's Best Hot Product, Creative Child Game of the Year

I'd like to give a Big Shout Out for this game- 5+ stars
by Luv2shoponline (5 out of 5 stars)

When I bought this game my husband read the description and thought it sounded terrible because not everyone could sing. We get together regularly with our pastor and her husband to play games and took this game. The pastor was leery because she didn't think she knew many songs other than hymns, but once the game started well it turned out she did. Who knew Abba had so many songs? Sometimes you can pick a word from the easiest song and no one will get it. I used the word "Ray" as in Do-Re-Me; ray a drop of golden sun. Stumped everyone! A very common word such as "from " can be really hard in 15 seconds. Of course later on you can think of lots of songs those words in them. Well, maybe not Ray. We loved the game and ended up playing it twice that night.
When we played with our 26-year-old son and his girlfriend, he killed us coming up with songs to almost every word and they were all songs that we had heard before.
We just took the game to Texas and played with our eldest son, his wife, son (nine), sister-in-law and brother-in-law. It's amazing how many times one word will come up and two people will shout out the same song. It was hilarious when someone got a Spontuneous Card and made up something you had to do while singing. One thing was you had to touch your nose and wiggle your fingers. If you didn't do this while singing out your song, it didn't count. My grandson loved playing but did get a little frustrated because the adults were so fast in shouting out songs.

So, don't worry if you can't sing in tune because it really doesn't matter. You just have to think fast and shout your song out.

Unfortunately we left our game in Texas. I'm convinced it was hidden from us. Anyway, we liked it so much that I do plan on ordering the game again.

Definitely a five star game!

"stop in the name of love, " or "a groovy kind of love

This game was a riot, however, my dad knows so many songs, he blew right through the board and the game didn't last very long! Before the game begins, you write down 3-5 "trigger words," then when it's your turn, you say one of the words, and the other players have 15 seconds to sing at least 5 words from a song containing that word. For instance, if my "trigger word" is "love," players could yell out, "stop in the name of love," or "a groovy kind of love." A player might get stuck not being able to come up with 5 words, like "addicted to love" but not know the prior or next two words. You advance around a giant treble clef and land on spaces that make you pick up cards with challenges. The cards say things like, "You have 15 seconds to sing at least 5 words from any country song, if you can't, go back 6 spaces." Half of us are not anywhere near decent singers, my dad actually can't hold a tune to save his life, however, he belted out songs like no one's business. LOL It was hilarious and we are looking forward to playing it again!

Tunetastic and Hallarious game for all ages
by Canary (5 out of 5 stars)

The game brought laughs and tears running down our checks as the whole table would break out into a song.

This game is fun for any family who wants to have a good time, is willing to laugh at each other, and can think fast on their toes.

The rulers are pretty simple and the turns around the table go fast. We had to think of about 9 trigger words each and play with about 9 people as well. The game works in both partners and individuals.

I would recommend for any one to play the game and take it to every party.

Introverts do have a hard time playing when there are a lot of extroverts who will shout and yell the lyrics right over the top of some one quiet.

Make sure you have a team spirit in mind and that the game is supposed to be fun for every one and you won't regret purchasing this game.

Brilliant game

This game was hilarious. We played it at a Thanksgiving gathering with 20 family members ranging in age from 7 to adults (no age necessary). We never laughed so loud and argued so much about who started singing first. We also argued about whether it was a song or not. Of course it was friendly arguing. There was one team that was doing the best due to my partners Dad, she was 7, but his partner was her grandpa and he was bragging about how well they were doing. She said to me, "I don't think Grandpa should be bragging, my Dad is the one that knows all the songs". Out of the mouths of babes. One comment is that we liked the Spontuneous cards so much we were using them more often, rather then just when you landed on the clef. One of just a very few games were you could involve young children, adults, and grandparents and all have a good time. Brilliant game, you should be proud of your invention.

La..La..La.Best Song Ever (One Direction) BEST GAME EVER!

Do you hum in the shower? Do you think you know the lyrics to all songs and sing them privately in the car? THIS IS YOUR GAME! We just bought it for our cousins but we have owned it for almost 2 years. Each person privately makes up A list of Trigger words like dragon or angel. The Tunesmith gives a word from their list, then if it is your turn, you have to sing a song that has the trigger word. (You have to sing at least 5 words.) Their are also Spontuneous Clef cards. You have to do whatever it says. For example, you have 15 seconds to sing an entire Jingle. OR You were singing in the shower and broke the mirror with your high pitched voice. 7 years bad luck...Go back to Start. You can see the cards are very silly.

You may think this is only for singers...No way! EVERYONE! We started playing when my youngest was 7. Now 9. She loves that game and we have a game wall! I have a 14, and 16 year old and they think it is fun too.

We like taking this one with us to parties, especially family get togethers. It is fun for 5 or 25 and team play. It is perfect.

Get yourself a game! You will not regret it! Enjoy!

Hilarious and fun for the whole family!

I have purchased this game two years in a row as a Christmas gift for families. This past Christmas, the family I gifted it to LOVED it and we have been playing as much as we can! We have played with ages ranging from 10 years to 40+ years. However, the 10-year-old does have trouble with thinking of songs quickly.

Spontuneous requires thinking of a list of "trigger words." When it is your turn, give one of your trigger words and everyone has 15 seconds to SING a song with AT LEAST 5 words including your trigger word. Whoever sings and wins the round can roll the dice to move their piece forward on the board. If no one can sing it, YOU have to prove that you actually know a song with that trigger word and you may roll the dice to move forward. I liked to make it challenging so of course, I can win! For example, my trigger word was "except" in which no body knew a song including that word! My song in mind: "What can I say EXCEPT you're welcome!" (From Moana)

As your piece moves forward on the board, you may land on clef and pick a card. These cards have fun challenges and have your piece advance a few spaces, but they can also move your piece aaaallll the way back to start - I know from experience as I was SO CLOSE to the finish line!!

Not sure if there's already a rule for this situation, but we made one anyways. Our rule was that if more than one person began singing the same exact song, the winner is whoever can sing the song the longest!

Overall, Spontuneous is such a blast for ALL ages and I highly recommend for a fun, competitive, hilarious game night!

More challenging than expected
by Bargain Hunter (3 out of 5 stars)
February 16, 2018

I bought this game for Christmas to play with my adult children. I didn't realize how challenging it would be to think of song lyrics that wouldn't be TOO obvious for someone to guess but wouldn't be so obscure they would have no reference at all. For instance, if you're playing with people who don't have a common background in music (i.e. one group who listens to country and another group who listens primarily to rap), there would be frustration trying to guess the lyrics but we had fun and one of my daughters wanted to get one for herself.

Great game for teens and young adults!
by eyeBallin (4 out of 5 stars)

Lots of fun! I bought Spontuneous as a Christmas gift for my mom. She is constantly spontaneously bursting out into song, song paradies, or even made-up songs about her every day life. The funniest part is that I do to, and we frequently will start singing the same song after hearing some trigger word! That's why it was the perfect gift to her, from me. We had tons of fun playing with my dad, mom, sister, and brother-in-law. It was very challenging for my grandma (81) and sister's mother-in-law who also played with us because they did not listen to music, but it's a great game for teens, young adults, and middle age people who can carry a tune in their heads, even if they can't in a bucket! I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars just because of the simplicity - there aren't many twists and turns. It is a blast and I can't wait for another family gathering to play it again!

This is basically a game you create yourself

There are no cards or anything that give you songs or clues, you are supposed to come up with songs on your own and then write them down.

Not worth the price

I was disappointed in the game. Would have been much better if they had provided words instead of players having to make up their own. For what it cost should have been better.
