Best travel bag I've ever found!by Samantha (5 out of 5 stars)

This is an amazing travel bag. I've been to many different countries, and this is the best bag I've ever found. I love that two of the main compartments have locking zippers (take a look at my photos), and that the bag strap is slice-proof. All of my belongings will be safe! It's also great that the straps can be adjusted to wear over one shoulder or be made longer to wear across the body (check my photos). It's comfortable and can store a lot without feeling bulky. If you are traveling, buy this bag!!!
Great purse that offers some peace of mind while traveling

I purchased this purse in the two pocket style, in the color midnight for a trip to Europe. This purse was wonderful to have, both because of how much storage it provides, but also for the peace of mind that it provides. There were many times that we ended up crammed into crowded subway cars, shoulder to shoulder with a lot of strangers. Even though I was nervous and uncomfortable for the obvious reasons, I would have been much more so had it not been for this purse. With the clipping zipper pockets, it really eased my mind that my wallet and cellphone were at least somewhat more difficult for someone to simply grab out of my purse. Most of the pockets (except for the two on the front) have clips that allow you to secure the zipper closed, hopefully allowing you to notice if someone were making an attempt at your valuables. The adjustable cut proof strap also made the purse comfortable to wear and easy to keep closed. The purse held a lot, but still remained flat enough that I could even wear it under my coat when necessary. I would definitely recommend it for traveling.
Very well-made, lots of features

This thing is even more impressive than I thought. Maybe I didn't notice all the features before I ordered it, but there is a light clipped inside to prevent you digging around for things (that you can also clip your keys to) and both main compartment zippers clip to another part to keep someone from just sneaking up and unzipping. The whole bag is padded very nicely, like a laptop case.
It would probably fit an ipad mini perfectly inside. It is extremely well-made, the RFID compartment has 5 slots, which nicely fits my passport and 4 credit cards. Also, the zipper for the main compartment actually zips all the way down one side of the bag to expand when you are searching for something. This might be the only purse I have that doesn't transform into a bottomless pit of confusion and loss when I am looking for something.
I have decided that I like this bag so much that I am actually going to upload pics of all the parts and give a more detailed review.
In the photos:
On the front of the bag, there are two pockets with magnetic fasteners/buttons that would easily fit a standard sized phone. The two photos I took of the zippers clipped to the bag itself are two different compartments, one located on the front above the two magnetic pockets and one is the main compartment itself (which unzips all the way down one side). Inside the main compartment you can see there is a light clipped, and 5 slots for passport/credit cards. There are two pen pockets and an inner zipper pocket. There are also two open sleeves on the interior, one that i can fit my whole hand in (could probably fit a can of coke or a baby bottle) and the other is slightly more narrow, I could get my fingers into it up to the knuckle. On the other side there is another large zipper pocket that does not secure the zipper to a clip, which is clearly made to be worn up against the body.
Crossbody vs. Classic Messenger
by DOler (3 out of 5 stars)

I ordered both the Travelon Crossbody and the Classic Messenger. I am traveling to Europe and have been pick pocketed before so I wanted something functional, secure, and day/night appropriate. I read the reviews and did a lot of research. These two came up as the top choices.
Pros for both bags:
fabric is easily wiped clean
Strap is easily adjustable, so doesn't look like it's cupping your top weirdly!
Hold more than you think (although crossbody much less than messenger)
Security features are great
Cons for this crossbody:
The curve on side is much to high for my short stature, it rubbed uncomfortably in the time I walked around the house with it. Even adjusting the straps. Might be better for taller people (I'm 5'4").
I fit my kindle, book, wallet and really nothing else in it. Those items took maneuvering to get in. So if you are looking to carry anything else that may have some bulk it will be tight.
The material while easy to clean does fall off the shoulder easily, so must wear as crossbody.
Overall I did not like how it carried or the lack of additional space in it.
I also felt I would use the front pockets quite a bit since so little could fit in the bag, and the magnetic closures didn't feel like enough to protect those items.
See photos for details.
Poor build quality (SEE PICTURES). Started falling apart after 6 months. Totally unusable after 1 ye

Quite disappointed in this bag. It was a very good travel bag while it lasted, but it did not last very long. After 6 months of use, one of the front magnetic buttons fell apart (see picture). After 1 year of use, the main zipper fell apart (see picture). It is now unusable because I can't get into or secure the main compartment. I had very much hoped to get more than 1 year out of the bag, but nothing is ever built to last anymore. The Travelon bag has proven to be yet another cheap bag with a very limited life before it breaks and falls apart. I suggest finding another manufacturer to buy from.
DON'T BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this bag back in April for my trip to Europe. I got the bag a week before my trip so I could check it out. I loved it until I didn't. The day of my trip on the way to the airport the main zipper came off its track leaving my bag completely exposed. I tried fixing it since it was my only bag and had my money, credit cards, and passport. I was unable to fix it and had to walk around clutching the bag to my chest instead of being able to walk around it just hanging off of me. Not to mention that the sole purpose I bought the bag was because where I was going was known for pickpockets. I ended up having to buy a bag while I was in Europe , but because it didn't have the anti theft capabilities I spent my trip worrying that my information(passport, credit card) would be stolen or that someone would come by and steal it by cutting the straps or by some other method. I don't usually write reviews and I waited this long to write one because back then I was really angry and my post would have been full of swears. My advice is to save your money. I'm not sure why it got so many reviews. Makes me now think that these high ratings I see on products are not legit
it's a fantastic purse. It's lightweight

I ordered the purple cross-body bag. I only have two complaints that aren't really complaints at all. First, it can't hold my Camelbak 1L water bottles (but honestly, what "normal" purse can???). Second, it's a little too large and oddly shaped to successfully "dress up." However, even though it screams "utility," I HAVE received several compliments on it!! Besides my non-complaints, it's a fantastic purse. It's lightweight, fits my Kindle Paperwhite, (large) wallet, and several other things all at once. There are enough pockets and *not too many* so that you can efficiently store things AND retrieve them without having to do the elbow-deep-in-purse dance. I use it as an everyday purse as well as a travel & "light hiking" purse. It's been about 4 months of regular use and it still looks new!!! Thankfully, I haven't had the chance to test out its anti-theft features, so I can't speak on those. However, the zipper locking hooks are very nifty! I'd highly recommend, and I am considering buying one in black or even another purse model from Travelon for the "dressier" times.
SECOND BAG WAS WORTHLESS

I purchased this bag and, while it has all kinds of compartments, zippers and pockets, the second bag that I bought was horrible. The main zipper brought almost immediately (after sticking), the inside zipper broke before that, and it started looking worn out pretty much after a few times out. I had to throw it out. It lasted maybe 6 months; the first one lasted a long, good time, to Greece and back to San Francisco, to Panama and back to San Francisco 2x. But this one is useless. I just threw it out and purchased a travel purse from another, more reliable vendor. A waste of money.
Perfect for Peru travel purse, used it in town and city as well as in the jungle and in the Andes
by Moniva (5 out of 5 stars)

I bought this in the olive color and took it on a trip to Peru in May. We were in cities and small villages as well as in the jungle and on trails in the Andes, on horseback, flying between cities, and on trains. The purse was comfortable to wear, had a lot of compartments so I could stash things like my passport, tickets, money, lip balm, sun glasses, etc and easily find things. Many of the compartments lock or latch so that a pick pocket cannot easily get into them, and the whole purse is made so that it cannot be slashed or the strap slashed. I did not run into those problems, but I know that in some places in S.America that can be a problem. I am a seasoned traveler and am generally watchful and careful of my surroundings, but it was nice to know that the purse was about as secure as a purse can be. It hugs close to the body, doesn't jut out or hang annoyingly.
It comes in a wide range of colors so you could choose one that is fashionably colored or as I did, one that more blends in.
I didn't want to advertise my purse. Plus, when in the jungle and on trails, we wanted to see birds and wildlife and loud colors hamper that.
I love this purse. I lent it to a friend who went to Africa and she also liked it and said she may get herself one just for using in general she liked it so much.
The Midnight Blue one held up great and I love it

I ordered 2 of the Travelon Anti-Theft Cross-Body Bags, this Stone colored one and another in Midnight Blue. The Midnight Blue one held up great and I love it! This one, the Stone colored one, broke the very first day I used it. I merely laid it on the conveyor belt of an airport scanner and the clip that holds the strap to the bag came off. I inspected it, and it had broken and was irreparable. The inside spring was missing, and the clip would not reattach to the metal piece the strap intended to hold it. Absolutely nothing had happened that should have broken this clip. And unfortunately, by the time I returned from my trip it was too late to send it back.
