Very excited to get gardening!by The Other Guy (4 out of 5 stars)

So, I've been wanting to get this for years, but had held off for a variety of reasons, finally taking the plunge this year.
It arrived this week, and off I went to my local sawmill to find out what the lumber would cost. After discussing various options, I decided to go with Spruce (I will stain the outside), which should last just as long as either Cedar or Redwood might in New England (10-15 years) if properly cared for. as a DIYer, I did have a few questions re the actual wood sizes, contacted Gardens To Gro, spoke to someone that was incredibly helpful, and found their services great. While I've read many reviews complaining about the "add lumber" component, I found it to be reasonable at an overall cost of $189.13, including all the cuts, labeling, taxes, and delivery to my home. The only additional costs should be the stain which I'll likely pick up tonight ($30?). I noticed on the Gardens To Gro website that they also have a watering hookup kit for this garden, so I'll likely order that too.
Since I've seen other reviews with updates, I'll update mine with pictures once it is complete (within a week?). Of course, I have no idea what to plant, as I'm new to gardening (other than herbs and spices), so suggestions for New England garden growing would be welcome!
Thanks everyone!
Its a good design but could be better

Its a good design but could be better. For just a bit more lumber it could be made into a completely netted enclosure and or greenhouse. Instructions are not designed for weekend DIyers. Took crew of three non english speaking handymen a full day. Cedar Supply in my city did not stock some of the exact sizes listed. Interior of beds should be lined with plastic or waterproofed to inhibit wood rot. Hardware sturdy and convenient but Simpson probably makes connectors that would work as well albeit less attractive. Neighbors are happy with the finished look as far as we can tell. Depth of planter depends on dimension of lumber you choose ie 2 X 8 or 2X10 or combo. Lumber cost was about $$500. Going to attempt to modify as stated this winter.

Easy to build with the plans provided. The board sizes had to be adjusted to what was actually available at lowes. Easy to assemble. A fun project.

This was a really fun project that we worked on as a family. It turned out beautiful and I get a lot of complements. I only give it 4 stars because the hardware was of good quality, but not great.

Was fairly easy to put together once we got the wood. Took 3/4 of the day, and I can't wait to get it filled with dirt so I can plant!
Very happy with the results

I had this garden for over a year now, and I am very happy with my purchase. This is the 2nd summer that we have had so many veggies that we share with friends. The brackets are really good quality and everything looks as good as when we first installed it. Excellent product and very good and prompt seller.
Just add lumber please!

Only giving it 4 stars bc I do not personally own this item but responding to the 1 star reviewer. Just add Lumber really, the whole things Lumber?? No sir it is not. There are people out there that would prefer to pay for plans, and all the small odds and ends that are required to build a project like this. The time this saves you in frustration alone in figuring out how many screws, brackets, and feet of mesh is the value on this plus it tells you exactly what wood to buy and how to cut or have it cut. It's like a Lego kit for adults. And to be honest I've paid more for a set of Legos for my kids and the end result was way less useful.

We're in love with our garden. The neighbors are in love with our garden. It's less than three weeks since installation and everything's flourishing. The steel brackets that come with the kit are very sturdy and make it easy to build the tall garden beds. All the hardware is of excellent quality. Although the kit is not inexpensive, the end result is worth it. Our garden is a wonderful and handsome addition to our home, and soon we'll have vegetables on the table.
to make a great rainbow shaped overhead trellis ( cucumbers come to mind) ...

Although, I do not own this Garden Kit, I built my greenhouse in this same fashion, with a horseshoe shape bed inside. I could imagine attaching 2 of the 4 ft by 16 ft cattle panels (the ones that bend) usually $18- $20 dollars at tractor supply, to make a great rainbow shaped overhead trellis ( cucumbers come to mind) or even to put plastic over for an earlier garden.
